Motorola Droid X :: No Birthdays Or Anniversaries In Contacts?
Jun 2, 2011
Since the update, all of my birthday and anniversary info i random number junk that cannot be edited. Nor can I add that info to new contacts. Is there something I am missing?
I can add/edit a birthday on a contact selecting only the month and day. **This is our preferred method**
My husband's Droid Turbo: For some reason, he is forced to enter a year and that messes with the Birthdays Calendar on his google account. Birthdays entered on his contacts do not display ever year on his calendar.
Question: How do we remove the year requirement and get his screen to look like mine?
Maybe I just noticed this, by my calendar won't show contacts birthdays. I've double checked that I'm syncing everything correctly. I've tried clearing Calendar data and Calendar Storage data, still no luck.
I sync with Google contacts and my Mac Addressbook contacts which have birthdays input for most people. On my Photon Contacts List, no birthday field exists.
Droid Razr M - Verizon I have 2 Razr M's on different Google accounts and neither of them will sync birthdays from my Google Calendar. All the other calendars work fine (US Holidays, Week Numbers, etc.) I have tried the following with no results:Removing Contacts Birthday and Events from Google Calendar and reinstalling it.uninstalling & reinstalling Birthdays on the Razr M Removing syncing & re-syncing Birthdays on the Razr M Clearing the Partition on the Razr M Factory data reset on the Razr M Several different 3rd party calendars Talking with Motorola Tier 2 support several times?
I saw a few sync issues with third party softwares doing a search, but could not find my issue.I don't sync my mobile with any third-party software such as Microsoft Exchange or anything.
But I entered birthdays an anniversaries in the contacts. For instance, I create a new contact, his name's Bob.
"Add detail" ; birthday, say 09/07/1990.
On my oooold Nokia 3200, tomorrow, I would have a reminder in the calendar (it would even say Bob's 20, but I saw in my search that this was no longer available)
On my E71, nothing. If I entered a birthdate in the contact, maybe it means I suck at remembering the dates. If I used a downloaded App on the Ovi store, I would understand, maybe DLed apps don't have access to the contact data. But here I use the Nokia Calendar, and the Nokia contacts. Is it just me? Did I forgot to set something? Am I asking to much? (Come on, a 3200 could...)
I have just bought a new blackberry curve and transferred my contacts from a Sony Ericsson. Their birthday information was transferred too but this hasn't sync to my calendar or I cannot set reminders in the contacts folder. Is there a way to sort this out or an app that actually works?
I'm trying to add birthdays to some of my contacts, but it seems impossible to go earlier than the year 1960. Is there any solution? Not everyone is younger than the age of 50, you know.
I'm using a Blackberry Torch 9800 with 2 main email addresses (both gmails) being sync to it wirelessly. I created a contact from my phone (in gmail account 1) and keyed in the fields of the contacts including the birthdays. However, when I checked my calendars, the birthday entries were created under my gmail account 2 rather than my gmail account 1 which is supposed to be the case. I would like to keep my entries on gmail account 1 private as I use the other account for work purposes which is shared to a group of people.
I recently synced my bberry with outlook, and now I have duplicate birthdays listed for all my contacts. My phone is also synced with two email accounts, one of which is the account used by outlook. The other email account has no birthdays and no contacts. The phone is also synced with Facebook.
I assigned pics to a bunch of my contacts and was pleased to see they synced over to my Exchange account. All of my Android phones I've had since then (G1, Droid, G2, Sidekick 4) pulled those pictures down from Exchange once I set up my contact sync and showed them in Contacts, when I'd get an incoming call from that person, in the text messaging app, etc.
But, the Droid3 doesn't. I'm guessing this is because it looks like it uses a custom app for Exchange, but still, I'd like to see it fixed/added. FWIW, contact pics from my Google+ contacts do show up.
All the birthdays in my gmail contacts were originally working fine on my Atrix. However since the update they do not sync properly. If I add a new contact the birthday doesn't show and if I change the birthday of an existing contact the birthday disappears on the Atrix. They dates show on the contact information but do not appear on the calendar. In addition, if I change or enter a birthday for a contact using the phone it always changes the entry to the previous day after I hit the SAVE button. For example, change a contact's birthday to April 1 and after saving it shows March 31 (which is what gets synced back to google). It doesn't show up on the calender under either date however.
Is there any way to add contacts' birthdays and anniversarys in Gingerbread? In Froyo I could edit the contact and they had a field for this near the bottom of the contact info. Now all I see are generic "notes" and "nickname" fields. While viewing the contact, it still has all the birthday information I put in while on Froyo. I know I can edit this information in Gmail, but it's much more convenient to add it in through the phone's contacts
I had the Verizon store move my contacts from my Palm Centro to the Droid 3, but I can't edit anything that was imported. I can edit contacts I have edited since the first transfer, but nothing that came across in the transfer.
Yesterday, I finally managed to disable the Verizon Wireless Backup Assistant because I only want my Droid to sync with my Gmail contacts. Can I delete all the contacts stored in my device and force it to sync with my Gmail contacts?
I've also noticed my device contacts list seems to be pulling all sorts of information from all sorts of places (I'm listed in my contacts list with an old street address, for instance). Is there a way I can tell where the device is pulling contact info from?
I am having problems syncing my contacts and I now have two and three of the same entry. I would like to clean them out and begin again but don't want to do them individually.
Recently we both just got on Facebook. I was showing her how you can go into contacts and scroll right and see any status updates. She tried it on hers and it was in the dialer. I opened the drawer and hit the contacts icon and it just opened the dialer under the contact tab. Her phone is stock with Launcher Pro. My phone has Launcher Pro but works fine. I have looked all through her phone and done numerous searches and am unable to find the answer about how to get her back to all contacts. She did do the GB update, but I should still be able to see the contacts outside of the dialer. I can't even create a text group for her.
When I set up, or attempt to, the favorites I can't get past 10 contacts in the 20 boxes provided. I press the + sign to add contacts, but when I press additional contacts they get inserted over some of the existing contacts thereby removing the others. When I press "favorites" at the top of the screen all of my choices appear on a list, but they don't all fill the 20 boxes.
I updated to GB yesterday, and today I realized a lot of my contacts are gone. I looked through a lot of info on this forum, but there is so much I can't zero in on my issue. Has this been discussed, if so can you point me to the thread
Say I have a contact that is a family member and they are on Facebook. How would I link that info with other info such as their phone number so that their profile pic from facebook comes up when I receive a call from them or even a text from them? I had the pics like that show up on my last Droid 2 (before I lost it and received a refurb replacement).
My wife and I just moved to the Droid 3 from the LG ENV touch. In setting up favorites on the D3 some favorites work fine and others actually link to a different entry than the identified "favorite" in the address book.Verizon said that they had one other reported this is happening on both phones.
When I open my Phone App, I have Favorites, Recent, and Dialpad catagories. What was Motorola doing NOT putting Contacts in the Phone app. I'm really unimpressed by ICS and actually prefer the previous OS.
Bluetooth functionality doesn't work well. There's so much idosyncratic about this OS that I personally do NOT like.
It seems that this release is typical of a manufacturer letting their user base beta test the OS for them.
