I updated to GB yesterday, and today I realized a lot of my contacts are gone. I looked through a lot of info on this forum, but there is so much I can't zero in on my issue. Has this been discussed, if so can you point me to the thread
View 6 RepliesI lost my contacts with the update. I thought that I could use Motorala Media Link to sync the contacts with my PC (Windows 7) with Windows Live mail. Media Link does not show Contacts in its list.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe new Android release has removed the ability in the music player to stop a song, and you can no longer clear out a playlist (I don't mean deleting a playlist, I mean clearing one out, which essentially stopped music from being played). Tech support level 2 told me that this was purposely done by the engineers at Motorola, but I have no idea why, and I can't seem to get in touch with them.

When you select Contacts in Navigation you get "You don't have any contacts with addresses". This was all over the threads, you would think this would have been fixed with this update. Grrr...

I backed up to itunes before update, but last known update showing in itunes is 2010?I had just updated itunes to latest software, if this would make any difference!After the restore has completed, if i open phone app and go onto favourites, the names show for a second and then it goes back to showing numbers only.
Contact list only shows a blank( well.... lined) sheet, as opposed to the alphbetical list on the R/H side. I didn't have icloud, so not backed up to there!!
Also, there is not a "contact groups" icon in the top right of contacts, as suggested on other answers for this problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is regarding my bb torch 9800. I just did an update directly from the bb website and NOT from a desktop icon. All I did was connect the phone and pressed "check for updates", from which the results said that there was an update available. It never once asked me to do a system backup...just told me that this could take up to an hour and that I'd be unable to use the phone. All my contacts are gone. This is my first bb so clearly i had no clue about doing a sync to my sim card. Is there any way that I can save all that lost contact info?

There also happened to be the update to version 5.Now silly me, I didn't make a back-up as I didn't know that this update would remove all my info.... I assumed it was just the applications (which I can install again) but I realized I've lost all my BB contacts. (Of course I didn't back up that info either.. geez...)What I want to know is because I've registered before, shouldn't my info still show up in my contacts' lists? View 6 Replies View RelatedI have read the official support page which told me to first make a backup from phone memory to memory card, take out the memory card, and THEN make the firmware update, put the memory card back in, and restore memory from card. I did all this and now all my business notes and all my business contacts are gone. Were they not stored in the 'phone memory'? Or did the website fail to say that notes and contacts will NOT be saved from phone memory to memory card when one performs the backup? And no, I don't use Windows, so I cannot synchronise contacts and notes and calendar. I have always made a backup from phone memory to card. Did I just find out that the people at Nokia are just a couple of mumbling amateurs who tell their clients to 'make a backup of the phone memory to memory card' and then fail to mention that some things are NOT backed up in this process? Suffice to say that I am very, very, extremely angry at Nokia now.

Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup.After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap.But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.

I just updated my software to 5.0 1596 and when I was synching my blackberry with my computer I got the following message " The following changes from address book microsoft outlook will be applied t your device data in address book - 233 additions". When I click accept the sync stops and I got an error message - 0x80040fb3 and I only have 4 contacts and no memos.
