I decided to update my iphone to the latest update yesterday and afterwards realised all my contacts had disappeared. My calendar and txt msgs all still there but no contacts. Does anyone know how and if I can get them back. I'm on a PC.
After the latest update I lost my hotmail account and charter account. They are seen in my accounts but nulled out. I can not delete them. Also, if I try to add them back, I have no options anymore for adding email accounts. It only gives options for Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Lotus Notes, and Skype and the lotus notes and skype is there because I additionally installed that. Does anyone review functions of the phone before they release updates or are we all just Beta testers for Sprint and Motorola. I had just got my phone fixed with all the other issues.
The new Android release has removed the ability in the music player to stop a song, and you can no longer clear out a playlist (I don't mean deleting a playlist, I mean clearing one out, which essentially stopped music from being played). Tech support level 2 told me that this was purposely done by the engineers at Motorola, but I have no idea why, and I can't seem to get in touch with them.
I backed up to itunes before update, but last known update showing in itunes is 2010?I had just updated itunes to latest software, if this would make any difference! After the restore has completed, if i open phone app and go onto favourites, the names show for a second and then it goes back to showing numbers only.
Contact list only shows a blank( well.... lined) sheet, as opposed to the alphbetical list on the R/H side. I didn't have icloud, so not backed up to there!!
Also, there is not a "contact groups" icon in the top right of contacts, as suggested on other answers for this problem.

Having recently updated to ios 5.1.1 I have lost all my contacts on my iphone 4. Does anyone know how I get all my contacts back on my phone? Why did they make such a stupid update that would do this?! All of these numbers were really important.
My mother in law has a iPhone 4 and has never been synced, so I decided I would update her software for her. In doing so all of the contacts were lost. Her phone has never been synced before using a computer and never been updated, until now. Please help with any information on restoring the contacts if possible. The computer system I am using is windows 7

This is regarding my bb torch 9800. I just did an update directly from the bb website and NOT from a desktop icon. All I did was connect the phone and pressed "check for updates", from which the results said that there was an update available. It never once asked me to do a system backup...just told me that this could take up to an hour and that I'd be unable to use the phone. All my contacts are gone. This is my first bb so clearly i had no clue about doing a sync to my sim card. Is there any way that I can save all that lost contact info?
I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, firstly. I simply wanted to transfer some pictures to my laptop, and then I see something about an update for the Desktop Manager. There also happened to be the update to version 5.Now silly me, I didn't make a back-up as I didn't know that this update would remove all my info.... I assumed it was just the applications (which I can install again) but I realized I've lost all my BB contacts. (Of course I didn't back up that info either.. geez...)What I want to know is because I've registered before, shouldn't my info still show up in my contacts' lists? Isn't there a way for me to restore my contacts without adding them all over again?
I updated to GB yesterday, and today I realized a lot of my contacts are gone. I looked through a lot of info on this forum, but there is so much I can't zero in on my issue. Has this been discussed, if so can you point me to the thread
I have read the official support page which told me to first make a backup from phone memory to memory card, take out the memory card, and THEN make the firmware update, put the memory card back in, and restore memory from card. I did all this and now all my business notes and all my business contacts are gone. Were they not stored in the 'phone memory'? Or did the website fail to say that notes and contacts will NOT be saved from phone memory to memory card when one performs the backup? And no, I don't use Windows, so I cannot synchronise contacts and notes and calendar. I have always made a backup from phone memory to card. Did I just find out that the people at Nokia are just a couple of mumbling amateurs who tell their clients to 'make a backup of the phone memory to memory card' and then fail to mention that some things are NOT backed up in this process? Suffice to say that I am very, very, extremely angry at Nokia now.
