I lost my contacts with the update. I thought that I could use Motorala Media Link to sync the contacts with my PC (Windows 7) with Windows Live mail. Media Link does not show Contacts in its list.
View 4 RepliesI just updated my Atrix 4g with Gingerbread 2.3.4 and it fried my contacts lists. I had over 150 phone numbers that were trashed to 34 and some of these were even munged. Is there any way to recover my phone number lists? The update even stated in one screen that the contacts would not be touched, but I now have no groups and mostly suspect phone numbers.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI completed an update on my Atrix on Monday morning. Since then I have not been able to view my pictures that I took before the update. Some of my music files will not play or are no longer visible. I do not have the option to set up the facelock option, I also do not appear to have a phonebook any longer. Was my update incomplete? Is something wrong with my memory/micro SD card? Or is something else wrong with my phone?

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo i download an update for about 4 hours, it crashes at least twice in the process, and then when everything is finally working, I notice my contacts are completely gone. The ones that sync from facebook are fine, but I don't care about those. Lots of them are gone though. I have no idea what they were saved in before. What account... etc. This happened last time i updated the system, but i had my old phone so i just went to at&t and had them add them all. i didn't think it would happen again, but IT DID!
View 5 Replies View RelatedUnder Froyo, I was able to link contact entries that were for the same person but were pulled from different sources and weren't automatically matched. After the Gingerbread update, I can no longer do this.
In one particular case, I have a contact that was pulled from Facebook, for who I now have another email address. I can't add that email address to this person's contact since it says that Facebook contacts aren't editable. So I created another entry for that person with the same name but the additional email address. I want to end up with one contact entry that aggregates both the facebook and additional contact info but I can't do that anymore.
I just purchased my Atrix phone this past Sunday and then updated it Sunday evening. Now I can't find how to link duplicate contacts. how to do this?

I backed up to itunes before update, but last known update showing in itunes is 2010?I had just updated itunes to latest software, if this would make any difference!After the restore has completed, if i open phone app and go onto favourites, the names show for a second and then it goes back to showing numbers only.
Contact list only shows a blank( well.... lined) sheet, as opposed to the alphbetical list on the R/H side. I didn't have icloud, so not backed up to there!!
Also, there is not a "contact groups" icon in the top right of contacts, as suggested on other answers for this problem.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have an Atrix 4g (stock)running gingerbread 2.3.6 i noticed a file listed as LOST.DIR. on my internal memory when i open it the names of the files are listed as numbers ranging from 92 to 1315. 126 files in total. when i try to open them it keeps saying "unable to open this type of file". when i long click it for file options and click info it shows me file properties with the following info "? 98 TYPE:FILE, FOLDER:/MNT/SDCARD/LOST.DIR, SIZE: 4KB, MODIFIED ON: DEC 31, 1979 7:00PM". every file size is 4kb and they all say modified on Dec 31, 1979 @ 7:00pm. can any one out there please tell me what this is and if they are safe to delete or how to restore the files. i am very confused about the modified date, i was 2yrs old in 1979

Just the other day all of my contacts names and pics were gone but now have reappeared. I beleive this happened after I powerd the phone off. When I turned it back on there were updates that I installed but it seems to have happened like the next day or so. Is there anyway to get my stuff back? I can't find it anywhere in the phone. All I did was connect the phone and pressed "check for updates", from which the results said that there was an update available. It never once asked me to do a system backup...just told me that this could take up to an hour and that I'd be unable to use the phone. All my contacts are gone. This is my first bb so clearly i had no clue about doing a sync to my sim card. Is there any way that I can save all that lost contact info?

There also happened to be the update to version 5.Now silly me, I didn't make a back-up as I didn't know that this update would remove all my info.... I assumed it was just the applications (which I can install again) but I realized I've lost all my BB contacts. (Of course I didn't back up that info either.. geez...)What I want to know is because I've registered before, shouldn't my info still show up in my contacts' lists? Something changed recently and now I only get grey notification icons for the email accounts. I'm not sure what changed though.

I have read the official support page which told me to first make a backup from phone memory to memory card, take out the memory card, and THEN make the firmware update, put the memory card back in, and restore memory from card. I did all this and now all my business notes and all my business contacts are gone. Were they not stored in the 'phone memory'? Or did the website fail to say that notes and contacts will NOT be saved from phone memory to memory card when one performs the backup? And no, I don't use Windows, so I cannot synchronise contacts and notes and calendar. I have always made a backup from phone memory to card. Did I just find out that the people at Nokia are just a couple of mumbling amateurs who tell their clients to 'make a backup of the phone memory to memory card' and then fail to mention that some things are NOT backed up in this process? Suffice to say that I am very, very, extremely angry at Nokia now.
