BB Tour 9630 :: Lost All Outlook Contacts Because Of Update
Mar 31, 2010
Where did all my contacts go from my BB Tour? I upgraded to new and now I can sync by wire. It ask to turn off wireless sync but I can not figure out how to do it. This is a major problem that BB should fix now!
I have BB Tour that is a corporate cell phone and is set up using Microsoft Exchange to receive my corporate e-mails. We use MS Outlook as our mail program.I was just playing around in Outlook trying to figure out how to attach my business card to the end of e-mails I send and soon realized I was looking at all of my personal cell numbers of friends, family etc. in Outlook on my corporate lap top ! Yikes ! I don't want my mom, ex wife, current GF's etc. contact info on my corporate laptop. Is there a way to get my Tour and/or Outlook to stop syncing my phone contacts to my my computer?
I am trying to put the contacts from my Blackberry Tour onto Outlook. Whenever I open up the desktop software and try to synchronize my phone or alter the sync options, it says something along the lines that I must be able to access the internet to perform the action. Why would it say this when I clearly have internet access?? Help needed greatly, I need to perform this action so I can go ahead and send my phone to the person who bought it from me.
After receiving a replacement Tour, I performed the device switch wizard, and all came through fine except...I no longer have the notepad icon, looked everywhere..."show all", options - > Applications -> All and I can't find it.I also can't find a setting for my phone, or desktop software that will allow me to accept meeting requests.
I synchronized my 9630 Blackberry Desktop, one way from Outlook in computer to Blackberry. The only fields from my Contact folder that appear in the Blackberry are the telephone numbers. How do I get the other Contact fields from Outlook to my 9630?
Hopefully you crackberry addicts can help me out! I go to look at a text message and it no longer says from a contact, instead, a phone number. I look at my contacts and they're all gone. No updates were going on, nothing. I'm running os 5.0.0.419. I tried a battery pull and it did nothing.
I previously owned an 8830 World Edition and recently bought the 9630 Tour. I had the the guy at Sprint transfer everything from the 8830 to the 9630. I gave my wife the 8830 and she had her old phone transferred to the 8830. I realized the I did not have my passwords in my password keeper on the new 9630 so I connected the 9630 to the laptop with the old desktop manager. I recovered my passwords but now I have my wife's contacts in my phone and I can't recover my contacts. If anyone could provide a solution.
When I try to synch my BB Tour 9630 with Outlook 2003 (I know, it's really old!) I get this error message: Microsoft Outlook Connector Error - No available message stores. What do I need to do - in laymen's terms please!
I have a BB tour 9630 and I can't get the sync to work from my outlook with BB directly connected to the my BB desktop manager software version is 5.0 Bundle 1600 can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?
I've entered a pre-paid SIM card and can't read the phone book on my TOUR, i dont even have the option to retract them from the card to the phone when i go to the menu. Although I can make and receive calls with no problem.Did u guys have to do something special prior to entering the card?
I dropped my BB tour in the water over a week and half ago. I have a JVM error 102 on a black screen that I have to strain to read. I have already gotten a replacement, but is there a way to bypass this error and get the contact info off of the phone?
I have checked the time zones on both my outlook calendar and BB. They are set correctly. If I set an appointment for 8am in Outlook, it displays as 9am on my BB calendar. Also it should be said that my phone automatically syncs via an enterprise server. I do not hardwire my BB to my computer. My BB has accurately sync'd with my computer for over a year until now. I tried changing the option in outlook that "accounts for DST", and that didn't work either.
I have a BlackBerry Tour on a local CDMA carrier. They recently posted the download that allowed me to upgrade from OS 4.7 to 5.0.0.624. The upgrade appeared to go smoothly and I am back in business with OS 5. The only (BIG) issue is that I have lost the ability to tether. I used to be able to tether via bluetooth with Windows DUN using #777. Now when I attempt to connect I get:Error 678: The remove computer did not respond
I am able to connect to the phone via bluetooth and Sync via BB DM. I can also query the bluetooth modem via control panel.Any suggestions? Has my ISP finally cut off tethering? Is it an OS issue? The only option that I can see is to downgrade back to OS 4.7 unless anyone has any suggestions.
Scrolling through the topics looks like I too am a victim of the latest update! Can't stand what it did to all my icons, moved stuff around, etc. I cannot find my icon for the screen/keyboard lock. I don't know what other buttons I can press that would lock my screen so that it doesnt press buttons when its in my purse. help me lock my screen/keyboard!
My Tour is 3 months old. Suddenly calls are dropping in the house and the battery charger is taking 10 hours to charge the spare OEM battery. Running the 5.0.419 and it's been fine. Verizon came out with theirs and it's so bad I went back to 419. Now I have an email from RIM saying new software for the phone is available but it doesn't say what version it is so I'm afraid to load it. Any one else have same issue? Phone was fine after going to the first 5.0 for 2 months but now after having changed from Verizon's 5.0. (been a month or so) the issues started about a week ago.
It's set to delete on Handheld and Mailbox (mailbox wins). When the user deletes the message on the BB, the message deletes in Outlook. When he deletes a message in his Outlook Inbox, it won't delete. The message will finally delete after being deleted from the deleted folder in Outlook, however, it's supposed to delete when cleared from the inbox.
I woke up this morning to find my entire contact list deleted from the Contacts application, however when I open an email or an SMS, all of the contact information is there for that particular person. When I look at the call log, the information is also there.I have a backup done on Friday (yesterday) on Outlook at my office (not on work server since they all use IPhones for that. I prefer my blackberry so I use the non-server syncing)...is there another way to get this information back or do I need to wait to resync on Monday?
I had a lot of apps on there that I don't use, so I deleted the off this morning to help get some memory back. I haven't yet done a battery pull on my phone...will doing one affect anything or should I just do it to help clear the memory up and make room for contacts?
I just received my replacement Tour (trackball issues) and would like to know the best way to transfer my contacts to my new phone. I do have several and not sure if I can use the BDM to do this or not, or if there is another way to accomplish this.
I used to use the left convenience key to lock the device, but after upgrading to 5.0, that function has disappeared. The only way I can lock my device now is by pressing the top lock button, which only locks the keyboard. Am I missing something?
I am receiving error message 0x80043ade when I try to configure my Tour with the new desktop manager and my Microsoft Office 2010 Outlook. I have Windows 7 OS.
My partner and I want to upgrade our phones to a new PDA. I have the Tour and I love it. His only concern is that, in our business we will need to use Handheld Contact to integrate with a program called ACT! and we are not sure that the tour will hold all of our contacts? How many contacts will the tour hold including email addresses any everything? We have over 3000 contacts in our ACT! database.
Recently I was at work, and my blackberry restarted, when it loaded, all my contacts had disappeared, originally i had thought that a filter had been applied, which wasn't that case, when i go to options to select my contact list, it shows that there are 316 entries, but they won't appear in my address book? Any suggestions on what i should do next.I also plugged my bb into desktop manager 6 and it showed that my address book wasn't installed. However i can add new contacts...
My contacts are showing the count number in both back up assistant and in contact list properties... I do not have a filter set, and I have contacts set to show all....but no contacts are showing. I also set up youmail.... and it pulled my contacts, all of them, but as far as I can tell they are nowhere to be found in the phone? I have a feeling I will feel really silly for asking, but help please!?
I just used my upgrade on the verizon blackberry tour 9630, I'm a big texter and absolutely LOVED my env2! Any helpful hints? Advice to a new user? I actually will not get my phone till next week.
I work for a Verizon premium retailer (aka indirect store). So of course we don't have all the resources/equipment that a corp store does, but we still try to solve issues to the best of our ability unlike many indirects.
I had a guy come in yesterday with what I believe to be a bricked Tour...basically was stuck on the white screen that said it needed to be taken "for repair." After some quick research here I concluded it was probably due to the 5.0 problems people have been having and I had a new one shipped out to him next day under warranty.
The problem is he aparently has tons of contacts, and of course like many people didn't use DM to do backups. Is there any way that those contacts could be accessed? We do have the same machine a corp store uses but I'm thinking that's not going to pull them...I didn't know if there was a way to restore a earlier OS with DM and keep the contacts. I'm guessing no, but figured I'd check the best source!
