View 5 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Tour OS to 5.0.0.419 yesterday and like it for the most part. However, I just found out a change I don't like. I tried to forward a MMS message to 11 people and get an error saying "Recipient list size exceeds limit." I have a group of people I forward stuff to. I don't want to go back to 4.7 because of something like this. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a fix or setting I may have missed?
Am I the only one having this problem? A search on Google displays nothing.I created a new group, and apparently only 10 people can be in a group at a time.
I have BB Tour that is a corporate cell phone and is set up using Microsoft Exchange to receive my corporate e-mails. We use MS Outlook as our mail program.I was just playing around in Outlook trying to figure out how to attach my business card to the end of e-mails I send and soon realized I was looking at all of my personal cell numbers of friends, family etc. in Outlook on my corporate lap top ! Yikes ! I don't want my mom, ex wife, current GF's etc. contact info on my corporate laptop. Is there a way to get my Tour and/or Outlook to stop syncing my phone contacts to my my computer?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI dropped my BB tour in the water over a week and half ago. I have a JVM error 102 on a black screen that I have to strain to read. I have already gotten a replacement, but is there a way to bypass this error and get the contact info off of the phone?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning to find my entire contact list deleted from the Contacts application, however when I open an email or an SMS, all of the contact information is there for that particular person. When I look at the call log, the information is also there.I have a backup done on Friday (yesterday) on Outlook at my office (not on work server since they all use IPhones for that. I prefer my blackberry so I use the non-server syncing)...is there another way to get this information back or do I need to wait to resync on Monday?
I had a lot of apps on there that I don't use, so I deleted the off this morning to help get some memory back. I haven't yet done a battery pull on my phone...will doing one affect anything or should I just do it to help clear the memory up and make room for contacts?
I just received my replacement Tour (trackball issues) and would like to know the best way to transfer my contacts to my new phone. I do have several and not sure if I can use the BDM to do this or not, or if there is another way to accomplish this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy partner and I want to upgrade our phones to a new PDA. I have the Tour and I love it. His only concern is that, in our business we will need to use Handheld Contact to integrate with a program called ACT! and we are not sure that the tour will hold all of our contacts? How many contacts will the tour hold including email addresses any everything? We have over 3000 contacts in our ACT! database.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am trying to put the contacts from my Blackberry Tour onto Outlook. Whenever I open up the desktop software and try to synchronize my phone or alter the sync options, it says something along the lines that I must be able to access the internet to perform the action. Why would it say this when I clearly have internet access?? Help needed greatly, I need to perform this action so I can go ahead and send my phone to the person who bought it from me.
View 5 Replies View RelatedRecently I was at work, and my blackberry restarted, when it loaded, all my contacts had disappeared, originally i had thought that a filter had been applied, which wasn't that case, when i go to options to select my contact list, it shows that there are 316 entries, but they won't appear in my address book? Any suggestions on what i should do next.I also plugged my bb into desktop manager 6 and it showed that my address book wasn't installed. However i can add new contacts...
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy contacts are showing the count number in both back up assistant and in contact list properties... I do not have a filter set, and I have contacts set to show all....but no contacts are showing. I also set up youmail.... and it pulled my contacts, all of them, but as far as I can tell they are nowhere to be found in the phone? I have a feeling I will feel really silly for asking, but help please!?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI work for a Verizon premium retailer (aka indirect store). So of course we don't have all the resources/equipment that a corp store does, but we still try to solve issues to the best of our ability unlike many indirects.
I had a guy come in yesterday with what I believe to be a bricked Tour...basically was stuck on the white screen that said it needed to be taken "for repair." After some quick research here I concluded it was probably due to the 5.0 problems people have been having and I had a new one shipped out to him next day under warranty.
The problem is he aparently has tons of contacts, and of course like many people didn't use DM to do backups. Is there any way that those contacts could be accessed? We do have the same machine a corp store uses but I'm thinking that's not going to pull them...I didn't know if there was a way to restore a earlier OS with DM and keep the contacts. I'm guessing no, but figured I'd check the best source!
I tried usin Excel & did not like it. Is there any other way that is easy? I do not run Outlok on my computer so that is not an option.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHopefully you crackberry addicts can help me out! I go to look at a text message and it no longer says from a contact, instead, a phone number. I look at my contacts and they're all gone. No updates were going on, nothing. I'm running os 5.0.0.419. I tried a battery pull and it did nothing.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to have my tour save my contacts with a third party app ? What i mean is most all of the sprint phones if you are out of town and you lose your phone and you go to a store and get a new phone as soon as they activate the new phone through the back up contacts on there sprints website it will automactly put your contacts in your new phone.I know you can save them on your pc but if i dont have my lap top with me how can i get the contacts and numbers into my new phone that i get when iam out of town.I was told there was a third party app to down load that will transfer them. so if you are out of town and lose your blackberry how do you get your contacts in the new blackberry if you dont have your pc with you ?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have just one SMS sound and one MMS sound so I know if I'm getting just a plain text or a picure or video message. Just one person in my contacts list...when they were texting me the alert sound is different than the one I have set for my phone but I never went into that contact and changed it so I don't even know how that happened and I don't know how to change it to just match my standard SMS sound. Hopefully this makes sense I'm trying to explain it without sounding too confusing.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have noticed this multiple times now that random contacts are missing from my address book. Today I got a call from my mother and her contact info was gone as well! I haven't installed any new apps and I haven't gone through and wiped out any of my other old contacts.
I am running .591 and I know that's an oops. Good thing for Verizon's backup assistant! I was able to get the numbers back online.
I previously owned an 8830 World Edition and recently bought the 9630 Tour. I had the the guy at Sprint transfer everything from the 8830 to the 9630. I gave my wife the 8830 and she had her old phone transferred to the 8830. I realized the I did not have my passwords in my password keeper on the new 9630 so I connected the 9630 to the laptop with the old desktop manager. I recovered my passwords but now I have my wife's contacts in my phone and I can't recover my contacts. If anyone could provide a solution.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been ttrying mightily but unsuccessfully to add my contacts from my BB to my desktop PC.I use Microsoft office on my desktop PC. The email address for that is different that my BB address. I don't think that should make a difference as I only want my contacts to be available in the address book there.I tried doing it thru desktop manager and it it seems to have transferred a small percentage of them but by no means all of them.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got a Blackberry Tour 9630 through Verizon. I have been attempting to transfer all of my (200+) contacts to my new phone using Verizon's 'Backup Assistant'. I dowloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager and through the Verizon Backup Assistant instructions have managed to get to the point where my contacts are in a csv file, but here is where the problem begins - my laptop is just a few months old, and the OS is Windows 7. Outlook and Outlook Express, which is what I used to have, is no longer in existence in Windows 7 from what I understand, it is now Windows Live Mail. I have set that up and it is working fine - I have my ISP e-mail set up in it and was able to import my phone contacts in to there, but the backup instructions for importing the csv file so that I can synch them are only given for Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express. The Blackberry Desktop Messenger does not seem to recognize Windows Live Mail either, just Outlook. I have looked all over the internet trying to find a solution to this, if there even is one. I hope so because the thought of having to enter 200 contacts with all of their info. by hand is not a good one!
Hopefully one of you smart people out there understands what I am talking about and can tell me if there is a solution to this (keeping my fingers crossed!).
I open up my contacts, go to any of my existing contacts on my phone, menu key, press edit and nothing happens. It just started behaving this way. The last app I installed before I noticed this issue was "contacts to excel" from the app world.
View 1 Replies View RelatedContacts will autofill when I sent a sms or mms text but DO NOT autofill when I try to compose an email. In addition, if I type the email address out I am not given the option to "send" the email. So right now all I can do is reply to emails. Has anyone had this problem? This just started yesterday. I am running .591

View 4 Replies View RelatedI swear that as soon as the new Windows 7 Series phones come out, I am smashing the BB Tour.I have had this phone for about 8 months or so. I have a paid MSN email address. I use Outlook on my PC and need Outlook Connector to sync it (Outlook) to my email, contacts, and calendar.(that's a whole different rant there- why do I need special software to use a MS email account when it (Outlook) doesn't need it for gmail, yahoo, or another?)For whatever reason, the Tour will not sync ANYTHING with Outlook. The (**bleep**)Desktop Manager is no help as it doesn't recognize ANYTHING from Outlook- not email, not calendar, not contacts, etc.I am under the impression that somehow Outlook Connector messes things up. Fine. Whatever. I setup a MS Exchange email account and got it up and running, both on the PC and on the phone.Still nothing works. Oh sure my emails come through, but that's it. my contacts list doesn't sync, my calendar has zero events/tasks/appointments on it (it does but the phone doesn't think so). Hell, when I am in the calendar, the ability to wirelessly sync is grayed out. When I installed the DM, I selected the option to use a personal email address and that doesn't work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and chose a work email address, but of course, no one tells you how to activate the damned phone to do this. And what's more, when the DM starts, it keeps reporting:"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."Well guess what? Outlook IS the default email client.Of course, RIM blames Verizon, who blames, MS, who blames the others. We all know how it is.
