i have an unlocked Atrix HD from Bell Mobilty and i'm using it on t-mobile. first few days were great! i have hspa+ with speeds at par with my old sensation. however, ive been stuck on edge since this morning. i've been playing with my phone checking if tmobile has lit up their refarmed hspa pcs network in my area using the service menu. since then i couldn't bring the AWS HSPA+ back.

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy ATRIX 4G toggles from UMTS to HSPA and back all the time. i see that on the mobile network type under settings--> about phone--> status.
After each of these toggles the mobile network state (same status menu) is connecting (and then connected until next toggle)
i suspect this phenomena to be the reason that my internet connection is unstable (disconnected very often). I'm using original ROM w. MotoBlur of course. any way i could just disable the HSPA and check if the UMTS is enought ?
T-Mobile Teaser Page and then, if you have not noticed, as i have when i was in portland last week....HSPA+ is getting rolled out with speeds up to 21mb/s. here are the rates that are coming or are already available to date: my device was "locked" in at the 3.5g the whole time i was in portland and my battery lasted longer, proly because it was getting my data faster and was not transmitting as long...my calls were also somehow "clearer"
i get spots in my home area of bay area, california, but i know this is becuase they are doing the site optimizations here...sometimes, my coverage is absolutely nothing where it was decent before. even though the HSPA+ is supposed to go to 21mb/s, our devices are rated up to 10mb/s on the n900...which is still the fasted available...........
After jailbreaking, among loosing FaceTime and MMS, I now notice that I lost my AT&T Cellular Data. I tried restarting and resetting my network settings. I can't restore because I am not home and I do not use my MacBook for backups/syncing my iPhone. Anyone else have this issue?
View 12 Replies View RelatedIn this thread, 4G referrs to HSPA+, LTE referrs to LTE.Below I'm going to go into detail about the LTE issue with the Lumia 900 on AT&T. This issue is separate from the no data connectivity issue that has already been addressed with an update.The problem: The phone will not reconnect to LTE after you leave the LTE coverage area and come back into the LTE coverage area. Data works fine, but the phone only connects to 4G (HSPA+). You are now stuck with slower 4G untill you reboot the phone or use the airplane mode trick (explained later).For example: I live in a 4G coverage area and work in an LTE coverage area. I go to work and the phone connects to LTE. I go home and the phone drops to 4G like it should since there is no LTE there. When I go back to work the next day, the phone will not connect to LTE. It stays on 4G. I have attached two pictures demonstrating the issue. Picture 1 shows the phone with a 4G data connection even though I have 5 signal bars and I'm in an LTE coverage area. Picture 2 shows the same phone after I reboot the device. I'm in the exact same location, but I now have LTE after reboot.
When does the problem seem to occur? The problem occurs if you leave the LTE coverage area and come back after a few hours. It seems to happen most often after only 2 to 8 hours in the 4G area.I have been working with AT&T engineering for about a month and they have done multiple traces and can't find anything wrong with the network. They see the phone connected to the 4G antenna instead of the LTE antenna on the tower. My moms Lumia 900 has the same problem. My wife has the HTC Titan II Windows Phone with LTE and it works perfectly.Based on my own observations, the issue has nothing to do with the amount of data you use either. During the time you leave the LTE area, the battery may also appear to drain faster than normal. I believe the problem is the phone keeps looking for that LTE signal but can't find it. It then gives up and goes into 4G mode to save the battery but never again tries to reconnect to LTE.
How to force create the problem: I did this 8 miles from the official LTE coverage area. 1) At a high elevation facing the LTE coverage area, I turned on airplane mode while I was NOT in the LTE coverage area. 2) Next I turned off airplane mode. 3) The phone connected to LTE with one signal bar while not in the LTE coverage area. 4) Moments later it dropped to 4G. 5) Then I drove 10 minutes to the LTE coverage area and it did not connect to LTE. It appears the phone saw the very weak signal and locked itself in 4G mode.Temporary fix: To restore the LTE connection, you can reboot the device, or turn airplane mode on and then turn airplane mode off a few seconds later. This of course turns off all radios and turns them back on.
Anybody else have the radio disable when below 15%? Smart actions are disabled.

I've gone thru different checks on the phone with t-mobile support, even sent my phone for 3 weeks but still the same problem. They'v ask me to sent it back. Mobile network is set on auto, but i m unable to view any videos or download a simple pdf, it takes very long to connect to some sites. There is always a 'G' on top of the screen.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a week that I bought an Atrix 2. My mobile networks tab in settings is locked that means that I cannot change to 2G only or 3G only. It is Automatic and grayed out! I would like to know if I can do anything to unlock that by any mean, custom ROM or whatever! Here the 3G connection is poor and unstable so my phone changes the type of connections every time by interrupting the call and also consuming the battery!

But the text message one has me baffled? I select text message >menu setting > messaging settings > select ringtone. But it doesn't offer the option to select a custom one.I've tried putting an mp3/m4a track in the notification folder by connecting the phone to a usb cable and pc, but the tracks dont show up in the select ringtone setting?

When using webtop and the firefox browser I sometimes get directed to the mobile site rather than the full web site of certain pages like Facebook and Twitter. In the Phone status menu, I see a potential problem in that the Mobile Network state is set to "disconnected". View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my ATRIX 2 about a week now, and the USB Mass Storage option for the USB connection has only actually worked two or three times of all the times I have connected my phone. The Windows Media Sync and Motorola Phone Portal settings usually (but not always) do work. I've tried just about every combination of installing/reinstalling drivers, trying different cables/ports, restarting the computer/phone, etc., but nothing works consistently.I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on my computer, but I'm pretty sure the problem is the phone since no changes on my computer affect the connection.
Totally aside from manually moving files to or from the phone, the Mass Storage option is the only one that works with any of the methods I have to sync my old iPhone playlists to my new phone (Motorola Media Link, Winamp, iTunes agent).Does anyone have any idea why this wouldn't be working consistently for me?
My collegue has an HTC phone that has an option to connect to the internet under manage usb connections. My Windows 6.5 phone just connected without pressing buttons. How can I get this option up on my Atrix?I need to connect to the office internet connection via usb.

Some of my music files will not play or are no longer visible. I do not have the option to set up the facelock option, I also do not appear to have a phonebook any longer. Was my update incomplete? Is something wrong with my memory/micro SD card? Or is something else wrong with my phone?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was just curious to know if this is considered a known bug / will be fixed in the gingerbread update.After using wifi and walking out of the wifi zone (eg, out of my house and down the street) I will check my phone to find that the mobile data connection has not re-started itself, and only a reboot will fix this issue. Other issues have been my phone will get stuck only being able to upload (and not download the resulting pages/data) as well as the symbol disappearing completelyafter a little bit of research I found this may be a problem with 2.2.2 froyo and for my sake I hope it is, but I was just curious to make sure it is fixed in future updates.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI purchased the Atrix generation 1 the day it came out and haven't had this problem so this is throwing me off.What I need fixed:
1. When my phone is connected to the computer via USB, it charges but the computer doesn't recognize anything is connected (tried all 3 USB ports). If the computer doesn't recognize it or something is wrong with the cable/ports - it shouldn't charge, right?
2. On my phones status bar - the USB connection options wont show up. I've tried the USB debugging on/off method but I get nothing. The only time anything connection related shows up on my status bar is when I'm connected via Motorola Portal via wifi. Can't transfer music etc with portal though.What I have:
1. I use windows 7 on my laptop.
2. I already tried the factory reset.
3. I have the latest updates on my phone.
4. I already sent it to motorola and just got it back as a clean slate.
I have a Microcell in my office. The 3G and EDGE signal is -100 or worse, so there's no conflict there. The wifi signal in my office is low, ~-80db, and often disconnects/reconnects. Every once in a while my Atrix (stock gingerbread) loses the microcell connection completely and continues to have no network connection. The wifi connection stays connected though. I have to enable and then disable airplane mode to get the connection back up.

Anybody having problems with retrieving emails since upgrading to 4.1.83?
So after upgrading OTA to 2.3.6 and performing a factory reset on my Atrix 4G, I've noticed that stock google talk app loses connection with the server after a few minutes while the phone is asleep. As soon as I wake up the phone, The network status icon is gray and within 30 seconds or so, the phone reconnects with the google servers and the icon turns blue again.
I've never had this issue before while on 2.2 and 2.3.4. I've made sure the app is always open and background data is enabled. Also my battery mode is set to performance mode so it should sync all day.
all of a sudden yesterday out of the blue when I would enter the market my at&t data connection would just drop out. the phone would work but the web browser, market and data apps like facebook and weatherbug would not. the H+ icon at the top would go from grey with a blue H and blue arrows to a black H+ with black arrows and I will repeatedly get connection errors. I would also get a orange triangle notification with an exclamation mark in it that said the name of the app in the notification bar. I also noticed the signal bars would turn from blue to a white color. the app will never download as i have let the phone sit for over an hour and the download bar never moves. I have found that I can do 1 of 3 things to reset the connection, I can turn airplane mode on and then it will work again when I turn airplane mode back off, I can restart the phone and it wil work again, or i can go into my apps and force close tha market. the problem always returns when I try to download another app. I have contacted att and they went over everything they can think of but still no luck.

Now at first i tought it was my router, so i got another one and still the same thing. it does this not just at home but to any wifi network. im pretty sure this is a hardware related problem, however it could be software also, i have gotin noware execpet from Moto Send your phone in, so in about 2 to 3 weeks ill have it back with no way of having a phone, plus ill still have to pay at&t, second at&t have never hered of the atrix 2 having wifi problems and offered to exchange the device for my warrenty deductable of $150.00, what should i do, i would also like to here from the community to see if there are anyone else with the same problems se we can address these to Motorola and At&T.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had the phone for around two weeks and so far about every few days I get the "unable to connect" notification regarding my corporate sync account through Motoblur. The latest incident was this morning. When I woke up I noticed that I didn't have the indicator light blinking on the outside of the phone when I know that I should've received e-mails throughout the night. When I went to go check it, I got the spinning circle for a minute or two and then "unable to connect" or whatever the connection error says. In this instance I was connected to my wireless network at home and my web browser was moving along very quickly so I know it wasn't the means to connect to my mail server that was the problem. Simply shutting off my phone and restarting fixed the connection issue this morning. The time before that, I received the error and then left the phone on my desk for about 20 minutes and it reconnected itself.
