Ive got a Motorola Atrix on T-Mobile UK. When using webtop and the firefox browser I sometimes get directed to the mobile site rather than the full web site of certain pages like Facebook and Twitter. I'm guessing this is not supposed to happen. Is there a way to change the User Agent so it loads up full webpages?

As the title states, I'm looking to find out if all the apps loaded onto the phone are stuck inside the 'Mobile View' or if they can be added to the Shortcuts alongside the defaults like File Manager, Entertainment Manager, etc in the Android app tray and operate outside of the Mobile View window.

All of the support pages show using an app called "Motorola Webtop." The only app on my phone is named "Webtop Connector". When I launch it there is a red/white Motorola logo that comes up on the TV screen but nothing else happens. The phone displays No webtop web pages to resume. and No webtop bookmarks.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSearching for "greater" or "less" wasn't working too well. I am using a Droid bionic with the latest updates, and the original bionic lapdock. In Firefox, the greater < and > work fine. However, in the mobile view, < and > appear as : and ; respectively. I tested this in a few different apps. Since those symbols share the same buttons on the soft keyboard, it looks like they are just mapped wrong. All the other symbols work fine in mobile view, including those which require a shift.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently got a lapdock for my Atrix.After using firefox for 10+ minutes the webtop freezes: the cursor is non-responsive and no response from key presses either. The frozen cursor occurs for both the touchpad and when a mouse is connected. How should I debug this problem? I am on the stock 4.5.141 build and rooted (to install Swype). No other root related changes.I am using the incipio feather case. When I undock the frozen webtop the phone is working fine. I can dock again to get a working webtop...not an ideal solution though.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave a new lapdock and my phone is not seeing the lapdock while 2 other phones work fine. The lapdock is fully charged and plugged in. My phone does not show the menu when docked or any indication of charging. It seem oblivious to the lapdock. The Atrix does, however, work with a multimedia dock with keyboard and mouse.The Atrix was one of the pre-release batch and is current on AT&T software. I did delete some bloatware, mostly games, some time back.
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen I dock my Atrix 4G (stock with 2.3.4 OTA update) with my new lapdock, I get the bouncing red logo on the lapdock and only two choices on the phone...Entertainment center and dismiss. I am able to play music, view pictures, etc on the lapdock screen if I select the Entertainment center option, but the keyboard on the lapdock does nothing. I have to use the controls on the phone to control it. And it appears that I can enable/disable the touchpad by double tapping the upper left corner.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just ordered the Atrix car dock. I know you can either install it off your windshield using the suction cup or placing it on your dashboard using the sticky tape. Based on the dimensions of my 2010 Civic's sloping windshield, I'm afraid it might be too far away for me to safely use while driving. I was thinking maybe I should mount it directly under the rear-view mirror. I was considering placing it in the storage bin just below the radio/AC controls and behind the shifter (using the sticky tape) or placing it to my left on the windshield. Of course, placing it to my left would mean that cables will be running under the steering wheel.

The d escape key, control key, and several other keys that seem to be involved in the F5 key combination go dead.I have learned to trick it. I do FN-F5 and hit escape and keep hitting the combinations until escape works, then hit control-alt-d which seems to clear the issue.Is there anything I can do to stop it from going into this crazy mode.

I got my Motorola Atrix and the webtop docking station at August (2011).After finally succeeding to connect it all together - phone-keyboard-mouse-docking_station, I was quite happy every time I connected it and it worked properly.
When i connect my Atrix to the HDTV using the dock , i can get the entertainment center shown on the TV but not the webtop application.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWas in an airport this week with a travel companion. Had my LapDock with me and was passing time away on the Web. My companion knew about my equipment and asked if he could use my Hotspot for his laptop. Sure I said.
Then I spent the next several minutes trying to get it to turn on. Finally took the Atrix out of the LapDock and it would turn on. Put it back in the LapDock and he stayed connected and I went back to what I was doing. Turned it off later still docked, but could not turn on again like before.
Searched around for this and found nothing about not being able to turn the HotSpot on while in the LapDock. Turns on/off fine when in my MM Dock. Running 1.8.3 stock at the moment.
Is anyone aware of an official (or rooting-free) way to add Root Certificates to the Webtop, which will then be used by the built-in Citrix Receiver?
This was why we bought that "Nirvana"-Phone. There are visions to replace ThinClients and Notebooks with Atrix-Phones in combination with Multimedia Docks and Lapdocks for selected users. Our CIO and CFO are keen to see it in action, but all we receive is the well known SSL Error 61.
In the Webtop-Firefox the Certificates look ok and I also made it to work on the Android Citrix Receiver, but I need to be able to use the screen resolution of the connected monitor and not the phone's resolution.

I believe that there is a problem with the Atrix network stack. When operating at home (Lapdock or HD dock or stand-alone) I prefer to use the local WiFi connection (because the cellular signal is useless for data here on the _9th_floor_ (thanks T-Mobile UK).
However:
1/ On its own the Atrix does not properly switch to _use_ WiFi- it tries to use either WiFi or GPRS/3G/HSPA from time to time. This does not work well (read the reviews that say that the Lapdock is slow and I think that this is the problem being reported);
2/ I installed Juicedefender which is free and which switches OFF the GPRS/3G/HSPA radio when WiFi is being used:
BUT - then I notice that the WiFi data stream stops after about 90s and only re-starts after either several minutes have elapsed _or_ I switch off and on again the WiFi radio. VERY POOR. Worse, on checking with my router, the ATRIX remains _connected_ to the WiFi network at all times - so this is the internal software losing contact with the active network interface.
I just bought the lapdock for the Atrix 4G and I think this is the first generation ($50 from AT&T). In my home network, I have a print server (Trendnet) to which 2 Epson inkjet printers are attached via the 2 USB ports.
Now when I add a printer in the lapdock, it shows me the 2 USB ports (PS-7336E9-U1 and PS7336E9-U2, both of these are standard TCP/IP ports per printer properties on my desktop. I select one of them and just shows me the Postcript or PCL drivers. when I tried to print a test page, it printed all garbage on mulitple pages, whichever of my 2 network printers. Is there a way to install the Epson inkjet drivers so that it will print properly on my lapdock.
My name has accent marks. I write messages to my family in spanish. How can I type accent characters in the Firefox browser inside the Webtop experience? I have Gingerbread on my Atrix.
Or did Motorola break Linux in a way to make typing accent marks impossible?
I like being able to connect my phone to my laptop and the Motohelper system is a bit clunky but gets the job done.But it isn't a daily thing that I do. It isn't even monthly. It's just occasional.So how can I stop the Motohelper software from loading every time I start my computer? Is there a way to just start it when I need it? Turn it off when I don't need it?

No it won't get past that at all, stuck on this screen for hours, rebootd phone, mac, reinstalled motocast. I've seen other having this load content issue also, how can we fix this? I'm using the motocast mac version downloaded from the website.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Targus Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard (has the Android logo and claims compatibility). It paired and connected without any issues and works with all of the apps that I have tried (gmail, text client, Docs To Go, etc.). It also works with Webtop apps, including Citrix (which is why I needed the keyboard).The problem is that when the keyboard is connected, Webtop will randomly crash and re-start (Motorola logo appears and Webtop re-initializes). I have tried this many times, with and without the keyboard and it is definitely related to having the keyboard connected. Sometimes it will crash right away, while other times it will last 2 or 3 mins. It always fails with 5 mins.
I have tried it using 4G (mine will go to 3G at times due to my area) only (WIFI off) and did not effect the crashing (though WIFI does seem to have conflicts with Bluetooth being on).Has anyone successfully had a Bluetooth keyboard work? Is there a setting I am missing?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the Webtop travel adapter for use with my VZW Droid RAZR and 1080p TV. I have a probelm with the Status Bar atop the display. About once per second it will disappear and then a second later reappear. If a window is maximized, it will be resized back/forth. It is truly annoying. It is happening with multiple TV's so it's not an HDMI issue. During the time the Status Bar is visible, nothing within it is clickable. I am speculating that it is loading then crashing then loading again but never fully initalizes to where anything is clickable and the service is caught in a restart loop.
Fireforx and the mobile view both work just fine on their own so long as they don't cross into the status bar area and their windows will get bumped up/down as it appears/disappears. I had considered a lapdock but can't justify the money, especially if it doesn't work properly. I'll try using aLogcat to see if I can glean anything form it and ship some logs off to Moto support.
