Motorola Webtop Docks :: "Lapdock" Mouse Doesn't Work In Mobile View?
Feb 6, 2012
From time to time, the mobile view won't respond to mouse clicks. I can't launch apps, but I can close tabs.een it after I've received the Memory warning a couple of times, but not convinenced it's totally related.
The track pad on my new 500 does nothing. I'm using a Photon. Everything seems to work fairly well, except for the track pad, which doesn't move the cursor. I can use a USB or Bluetooth mouse and they control the cursor fine. Swiping, dragging, scrolling, clicking, basically any form of movement on the track pad you try does nothing.
Searching for "greater" or "less" wasn't working too well. I am using a Droid bionic with the latest updates, and the original bionic lapdock. In Firefox, the greater < and > work fine. However, in the mobile view, < and > appear as : and ; respectively. I tested this in a few different apps. Since those symbols share the same buttons on the soft keyboard, it looks like they are just mapped wrong. All the other symbols work fine in mobile view, including those which require a shift.
have any of you had a problem trying to watch movies using the HBO Go app within the mobile view? I get this message to unplug the HDMI cable and try to view again. Also, for some reason when I try and watch episodes of Star Wars The Clone Wars, from the official website, I doesn't show anything using the firefox browser or using the apps browser in mobile view. (But, I can play the video, with no problem, when the phone isn't docked.) Go figure.
I still struggle with the lapdock after the ICS downgrade. 1. Opera seems to work better than the native browser or Chrome. Flash works well on Opera. 2. To help the jumping cursor - Disable the tap to select and use the buttons to right and left click. 3. The latest upgrade on Citrix Beta works well, and I can use Office 2010 on my server. The automatic zoom on tap - I wish I could find out how to disable that. The text select option may work on a tablet but is just frustrating on the lapdock. When I answer the phone, the person calling comes over the phone speaker, not the lapdock speaker - making it difficult to hear them. There is still no support whatsoever. I am very concerned that the update to JB will further impair the lapdock functionality. about JB and the Lapdock?
As the title states, I'm looking to find out if all the apps loaded onto the phone are stuck inside the 'Mobile View' or if they can be added to the Shortcuts alongside the defaults like File Manager, Entertainment Manager, etc in the Android app tray and operate outside of the Mobile View window.
have the Lapdock 500 and Razr Maxx. Together they were working fine until today when the mousepad stopped working. When connecting an external (bluetooth) mouse, the prompt bringing me to the mouse settings page appeared and the box to turn off the trackpad was unchecked. What can I do to reenable the mouse?
When connecting my Atrix 4G to my lapdock, (which I just received today), I get the picker on my phone, which indicates that only HDMI is being seen by the dock, and no USB. I have no aftermarket cover on my phone, have tried removing the Motorola battery cover from the phone and fit plate from the lapdock to get a better USB connection, but just can't get a USB connection, or so it seems. I know when I plug the phone in and open the lapdock it should just go right to Webtop, but I get the red M screensaver till I select an option on the phone. The when I select Webtop I get the touchpad on the phone which works. Also get no audio from the lapdock speakers if I play music, but when I unplug the phone the music starts playing from the phone speaker. One time out of many, maybe 50+ now, I saw a USB devices detected message on the lapdock screen, but only the one time.
More than a month ago my Razr Maxx upgraded to ICS and converted my Lapdock 500 from a machine I could use for business to a poorly functioning keyboard and magnifying glass for my phone. Motorola's support site still has NO support documents for Webtop 3.0. The support site still has all documentation for 2.0 - describing how to use Firefox, file manager, etc - all the functionality that I lost. WHY is there not even any support for 3.0?
Ok.. Before I say I give up and my phone and the docking station were a bad purchase, let me ask for some help here, since the forum seems to be pretty helpful. And help me with establishing the initial connection with my webtop dock.
I got my Motorola Atrix and the webtop docking station at August (2011).After finally succeeding to connect it all together - phone-keyboard-mouse-docking_station, I was quite happy every time I connected it and it worked properly.
Purchased the Lapdock 500 a couple of days to go to use with my Razr Maxx. Very first time plugged it in and touchpad was not working.Thought it was defective but unplugged phone and plugged in and started working. It was fine yesterday and now today it was working then stopped again. The only difference today is I am using a wireless mouse as well but both were working without any issues earlier. Restarted phone also and still nothing.
My razr does not charge when on the lapdock 100 and the dock is not pluged it.Is that normal? When I had my Bionic and it was on the lapdock it would drain the lapdock battery but charge the phone.
My lapdock lapdock keyboard goes weird. The d escape key, control key, and several other keys that seem to be involved in the F5 key combination go dead.I have learned to trick it. I do FN-F5 and hit escape and keep hitting the combinations until escape works, then hit control-alt-d which seems to clear the issue. Is there anything I can do to stop it from going into this crazy mode.
I tried the original lapdock when I got my Bionic. Hated it. Brought it back.I went to get the LapDock 100 and the woman told me they had a new one just for the Bionic. I got it. Hated it. Brought it back. The LapDock 100 is cool and slick, and it actually works well.I have one issue with it though. It says that if I double tap the top left of the trackpad, it will toggle it on and off. It does not.
I cannot seem to to enable sound from the speakers on the Lapdock 500 with my Photon 4g. I have the latest build and webtop version and have rebooted still only sound comes from the phone. Webtop works but no sound from speakers...
My wife has an Atrix that she usually uses with the Lapdock. Recently, it stopped working when plugged in. She puts it into the dock, and the dock will go back and forth from displaying the Motorola logo to NO SIGNAL INPUT HDMI. When out of the dock, the phone works perfectly fine. The phone and dock are both completely charged, and she has restarted the phone to see whether that would fix things. The phone is stock settings, with the latest updates and everything. without resorting to testing a factory reset to see if that makes any difference?
The problem with my lapdock is doing my head in. Browsing pages is a nightemare, especially those loaded with flash or any kind of animation. Slows down so much that few times firefox crshed poping out a message about memory usage. Something that is called " optimus" uses 78% of my atrix memory.
I recived my lapdock 500 from amazon and I can not get my audio to play on the Lapdock 500, from anything, any Ideas? read many thing on the internet but not seem to work,
Will the new Lapdock 100 be compatible with the Atrix 4G (not just the phones listed in the press release), since it is connected by a wire and not a dock now? Should be a simple fix/solution.
Would Motorola consider offering a trade up program from the original lapdock to the new lapdock. As an owner, I find that the original lapdock is very cool in concept, but limited in actual use. An upgrade program would help influence customer loyalty and offer Motorola an opportunity for some very good promotion of the new product
Most of my family owns Motorola Atrix phones, so we bought the lapdock to use with all of them about a week ago. It's worked perfectly so far, but today when we put any phone into the dock and open the screen all that appears is the Motorola logo bouncing around the screen like a screensaver. It doesn't respond to pushing any buttons on the keyboard, or sliding across the trackpad like a normal screensaver. We have tried removing the phones, unplugging the lapdock, plugging it back in and putting a diferent phone in, but the same thing happens.
Hardware is only as good as its software. It would seem many of the issues I'm having with my lapdock browser would be cured if it was running the latest versions of flash or if the browser itself was current.
I know Matt stated in the rumors section that ICS is moving along and should be out whenever they can get it ready, so here is my question. Will the lapdock browser be updated in that upgrade?(isn't that seperate from the operating system?)
Will the Flash be updated for the lapdock as well? (it's packaged in the browser isn't it?) Lastly, not entirely unrelated...
why not have a lapdock market place for apps? (i hate loading an app and finding it only runs on the phone dashboard)
A few days ago my several of my lapdock keyboard keys lost their tactile feedback. Now to get them to respond with letters on the screen I need to mash the keys hard. This is mostly on the Q and A line.
Since the Razr Maxx ICS upgrade the camera on the lapdock 500 is not working. When I try to start the Camera app it says "Camera is not supported in this mode" and there is no way to change it.
I have a Atrix Lapdock connected to my Photon...so...its not an 'approved' configuration. That aside...do the other lapdocks provide a setting to configure the charging of the phone via the lapdock? for example, I'd love a setting on the lapdock that would say to start charging the phone only if the phones power was down below 50% (or some configurable amount) and stop at say 60% full. (With a toggle to keep its functionality as it currently does.) I'm finding that I tend to use the lapdock in shorter bursts, 20-30 mins, and if the lapdock didn't automatically charge the phone, I think I could get weeks worth of power off a single lapdock charge it if wasn't always automatically charging the phone.
Was in an airport this week with a travel companion. Had my LapDock with me and was passing time away on the Web. My companion knew about my equipment and asked if he could use my Hotspot for his laptop. Sure I said.
Then I spent the next several minutes trying to get it to turn on. Finally took the Atrix out of the LapDock and it would turn on. Put it back in the LapDock and he stayed connected and I went back to what I was doing. Turned it off later still docked, but could not turn on again like before.
Searched around for this and found nothing about not being able to turn the HotSpot on while in the LapDock. Turns on/off fine when in my MM Dock. Running 1.8.3 stock at the moment.
I bought the Lapdock with my Bionic and got it all home let everything get charged up and started to try to use the Lapdock. I get 3-4 Firefox pages up and going and I keep getting a Low Memory error and it wants me to close app's I don't really have many things running but the Bionic indicates that 69% of the memory is in use on the droid and a few percentage for webtop firefox. I can't seem to kill off enough things to keep the error from popping up.
