Somehow within the past few days I lost some of my contacts that I call/text all of the time. I tried rebooting taking the battery and sim card out several times and the lost contacts haven't been restored. I went to my GMail account to see if the contacts were in that list and they weren't which was also strange.
View 8 RepliesMy phone was charging the other night during a power failure and in the morning my contacts and BB contacts were gone. These contacts aren't lost as it's my gmail contact list - but I can't get them back on my phone. I've clicked all the buttons to sync, but no luck. I can't manually add a contact and see it either. In the contacts options, it says that I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number. But - I can't see them anywhere. Also, I removed the email account and set it up again making sure to click the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put it back, and still nothing.

I had a torch 9800 blackberry which was stolen. Whenever I charged the phone on my PC I used the USB cable and I always did a back- up of the everything on my phone. I replaced my Torch 9800 and normally my contacts would automatically update and appear on my phone but this time I cannot find my contacts at all. I select the USB Sync option but my contacts to not retrieve.. How can I find my lost contacts on my PC?

How do I turn this off? I do not use the phone for anything other than calling and texting; I have no apps or email accounts or google or anything else set up with the phone. I wouldn't even know how to use them, to be honest. I just want silent mode to mean everything is completely silent, no vibrating or anything.

I went to call my DH today, and his number was deleted. I didn't do that, so now I would like to find a way to export my contacts to a computer file. This phone has a mind of its own. It makes calls and sends texts, and that is after I've locked it!

I noticed contacts new storage was at about 40MB, thought that was weird, but decided to free up some memory be deleting a few unused apps. I deleted about 40MB of unwanted items and my phone was good... for about 2 hours. The internal memory message popped up again, and this time, contacts new storage was using 80MB of internal memory. I currently have 0MB free. It appears CNS is using whatever free space I happen to have on my phone - which is weird since I haven't had problems for over a year with the app.
Sure, I have a linked Facebook account (which I have read can cause problems... hat and Twitter); however, I only have 100 contacts on Facebook...nothing extreme by any means. I have about 50 regular gmail contacts.I would like to be able to "clear data" and have the phone resync my contacts; however, clear data is almost always grayed out on my phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded an ap-monitoring ap that sends an alarm when aps are operating over a selected percentage of CPU and "Contacts New Storage" is constantly alarming at sometimes over 70%. The main problem is when I am in the Text Messaging screen it completely freezes before I can open a conversation. Also, if I want to start a new text conversation the To: field won't let me copy from my contacts or even type in a number. the phone also freezes when I am trying to look up a number in the contacts to make a call and while I am on a call I can't hit end sometimes. There is also an over-all sluggishness to the phone but I think that is because of the low volume CPU. I am upgraded to 2.1. I have tried to reboot. And reset the phone completely. I wonder if there is a way I can turn off or delete motoblur and just use the android?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently dropped my Droid Turbo and after picking it up, saw that my screen no longer worked at all and it began restarting itself and playing the "Start up" sound effect over and over. I have important contacts and pictures on this phone and I'd really like to be able to save them. So far I can (sometimes) see it is attached to my computer, but I can retrieve any files because I can't turn on media sharing due to the broken screen and continuous restarting.
I have already gotten my replacement from the warranty I bought from Verizon but I'm unable to connect them to transfer anything. I have also already switched over the simcard and it seems nothing was saved on there either in relation to my contacts or pictures. (If that's even what a sim card is for?)
I lost my contacts with the update. I thought that I could use Motorala Media Link to sync the contacts with my PC (Windows 7) with Windows Live mail. Media Link does not show Contacts in its list.

When I restored the phone to the 'most recent' back up, I lost ALL the data on my phone after Nov 20, 2011. All my texts, all the data about my baby that I have been keeping in a baby app - basically any app info. Even my camera roll reverted back to the way it was on Nov 20. (fortunately I had saved my pics to iphoto - so nothing really lost there)
I don't understand where all the info went when I backed up RIGHT before I went to the apple store.
I have looked on my computer and found the back up file, but I don't know what to do with the info in there. Oddly, I can't find a back up for 4/2/12 - the day I did the back up, but there are several back ups in March.. which would be better than the NOV back up.

I just updated my Atrix 4g with Gingerbread 2.3.4 and it fried my contacts lists. I had over 150 phone numbers that were trashed to 34 and some of these were even munged. Is there any way to recover my phone number lists? The update even stated in one screen that the contacts would not be touched, but I now have no groups and mostly suspect phone numbers.
View 15 Replies View RelatedHow to sync or rather resync facebook contacts back to your XPRT's contact list if lost. My son deleted my contacts and when I restored them from online back ups I noticed my facebooks were not there. Trying to remove the account to resync would not work. I received an error with each attempt. Like many users I use the Facebook app from Google's market. Even when I would force close the app it would still not remove my face book account. You cannot resync unless you remove the account. Open the facebook app and simply sign out of the app. do not close it but sign out by hitting the menu icon to the left of your home button on the touch scene. This will allow you to remove the Facebook account. It will warn you on sign out that all your Facebook data on your phone will be lost if you sign out. That is okay as soon as you log in and resync and reopen the app it will all come back.
Once you have logged out remove your account by going to My Accounts in the app drawer or from your phones settings through the menu button. Resettling your phone is not necessary but can be done at this point if you wish. Either way after this point you must add your facebook account back by going back to My Accounts. Once you add the email and password and it goes back to your accounts screen you will see two (2) facebook accounts. Click one and if it pulls up a blue and white screen to log into the facebook app stop. Hit the back button and click the other facebook account. The one you want will have a black Motorola XPRT system windows that says "sync contacts" just hit that sync button and it should as long as facebook and your MOTOBLUR app on facebook are both working resync you contacts adding them to your phones contacts.
It's been over a year since I posted here, because it's been that long since I had a problem. (And people say the Backflip is not any good). Anyway I tried to add another gmail acct this morning. And got an error msg "unable to establish a secure connection to server". After trying several times over a few hours, I began to wonder if it was Google or not, so I tried a hotmail account, same basic errror msg. Tried to check for any updates, and got the same basic msg.I can access websites through the browser, just not do anything related to system files.Talked to AT&T (No Help of course), as far as I can tell all settings are correct, even though I know there is a setting somewhere that is not right.

I turned it off by removing the battery as I didn't it to wait the boot process. After that the phone just don't finish booting up. I can see the blur logo, then goes into the at&t logo.
