How do I retrieve my lost BBM icon? I still have the ability to do BBM instant messaging. The icon does not appear in my instant messaging folder so I am unable to move it to my home screen.

Though many of my contacts are still intact, others no longer show a secondary phone number I once entered, or some contacts seem to have disappeared completely.The strange thing is, when I dial one of the "lost" numbers manually, the contact's name does show up! But I can't find it in the list of contacts. I have already checked and unchecked the Business and Personal options in the filter menu, but that didn't do the trick.Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?note: this problem is not my own - I'm asking for a friend of mine

I used it a few times OK and then after connecting to my PC (may be a coincidence) I cannot locate it and have to look at my music and picture files through the Files Icon. The memory card is located OK and I have my music and pictures on it.

I know the application is on my phone, when I go to "options" and then "Applications" I see it listed. Just can't find the icon to open it. Usually I can find stuff in the Download folder. View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a Bold about 25 days back and it has a few issues so far, but this one worries me.I have a lot of info on my media card, and now it says the card has errors and wants me to format. It doesn't matter if I sick the micro SD into an adapter or try to connect my 9700 through a USB, how can I retrieve all my data, and than format? It is a 16GB Kingston HC media card.How do I avoid the format and retrieve my data? Appreciate your help. I did not experience this issue until a few days back and I tried the battery pull mechanism, which only reset the phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

Talked to our IT group and they don't get why i wouldn't get wireless because we have "booster's" through out the facility.I went from a bb 8703e (which i had no issues with for 3yrs) to a bold 9700 _ love the phone but not if i can't retrieve emails, internet..etc.

I never had this problem with my old curve 8320. I've also had this icon issue since I got my phone several months ago. The icons remain the same no matter which OS version I use. I am on T-mobile.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo on New Years Eve I had my pone turned off from 10pm - 1am. Upon turning it back on I found that all the pictures I had taken in the previous 2 weeks were deleted, all but one picture that is. Now, a few days ago my phone wouldn't show pictres in the media tab at all, so I took out the battery and replaced it and pictures showed up. I tried this again for fiding these pictures and it didn't work. Have I lost all of my pictures or will they magically come back again? Anyone else having this issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9700 on the Bell Network and have lost all the BB functions. Phone was working fine and then I lost all ability to access email and BBM.
The email icons are there but the BBM icon vanished along with all my other app icons (NHL, Weather, ZoomPass etc.). I've also noticed that the blackberry logo that is usually beside the 3G icon in the top right is also gone. What is weird is that the phone can still make calls, text and browse. Bell data support says everything is fine on there end. I've wiped the unit via JL_Cmder and reinstalled the latest OS 5.0.0.545 and still not working.
My 9700 was being real buugy, not allowing me to open a sms text. So I powered the phone off then back on. I wanted to add some music, when I looked in the music folder I noticed all of my media had been deleted. Not real happy with RIM. I guess this is why the BB is known for being a work tool and not a media device.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the bold 9700 V5.0.0.321 I had all my contacts duplicated due to sync of my phone with the gmail.on one the contact it duplicate about 10 names and when i tried to delete one of them it deleted everyone of those names. I found out (maybe the wrong way) that you go to the address book press Options -> then press R S E T -> which deleted all of my contacts in the address book and now I cant restore it back. Every time I input the data names and numbers it wont save it. I had the back up but it says the DM doesn't recognise the data. Is there anyone that can help me on how to put my contacts back into my phone.

I do alot of single handed typing/everything on this phone and it's impossible with my hands to reach the keyboard lock button. It also increases the risk i will drop my phone in the lake when boating because the only way to single handedly reach the keyboard lock is to remove my right hands pinky from below the phone thats holding it up, pinch the screen to twist it and then press the button (all single handedly).
I just did an OS update of a blackberry bold 9700 and after rebooting all the data was lost... emails, contacts, settings... I searched for solutions, found few places talking about the update software would be creating a .ipd backup file before updating OS, but didn't find any on the PC. It never has been sync or backed up..

I only can get it back by disabling 3G signal and enabling it again ..
I don't know why it does it, I had no problem with my bold 9000, but since I changed to 9700 I also changed my phone operator..Or maybe It's due to my faceplate change and I screwed myself not moving certain parts to the new faceplate..
I went to install some software on my 9700 through DM and it removed the Word/Excel readers from Applications. Does anyone know how how I can get those back?
