Motorola Backflip :: Contacts New Storage At 80MB And Counting?

my phone has died in the past 24 hours. I received a message saying I was low on internal memory today - which was weird because I normally have about 50MB free. I noticed contacts new storage was at about 40MB, thought that was weird, but decided to free up some memory be deleting a few unused apps. I deleted about 40MB of unwanted items and my phone was good... for about 2 hours. The internal memory message popped up again, and this time, contacts new storage was using 80MB of internal memory. I currently have 0MB free. It appears CNS is using whatever free space I happen to have on my phone - which is weird since I haven't had problems for over a year with the app.
Sure, I have a linked Facebook account (which I have read can cause problems... hat and Twitter); however, I only have 100 contacts on Facebook...nothing extreme by any means. I have about 50 regular gmail contacts.I would like to be able to "clear data" and have the phone resync my contacts; however, clear data is almost always grayed out on my phone.

During an exam, I can get in trouble if my phone goes off, even if it just vibrates.I've noticed that even when I have my phone in silent mode, it still vibrates when I receive a text message. How do I turn this off? I do not use the phone for anything other than calling and texting; I have no apps or email accounts or google or anything else set up with the phone. I wouldn't even know how to use them, to be honest. I just want silent mode to mean everything is completely silent, no vibrating or anything.

Somehow within the past few days I lost some of my contacts that I call/text all of the time. I tried rebooting taking the battery and sim card out several times and the lost contacts haven't been restored. I went to my GMail account to see if the contacts were in that list and they weren't which was also strange.

I went to call my DH today, and his number was deleted. I didn't do that, so now I would like to find a way to export my contacts to a computer file. This phone has a mind of its own. It makes calls and sends texts, and that is after I've locked it!

My stepmother is planning on moving to Sprint and said I could have her Backflip after she did. I don't have a data plan and don't plan on getting one soon. If I scramble the APN with her disabled SIM card, then insert mine, will it keep those settings so that I don't get caught with it?

I downloaded an ap-monitoring ap that sends an alarm when aps are operating over a selected percentage of CPU and "Contacts New Storage" is constantly alarming at sometimes over 70%. The main problem is when I am in the Text Messaging screen it completely freezes before I can open a conversation. Also, if I want to start a new text conversation the To: field won't let me copy from my contacts or even type in a number. the phone also freezes when I am trying to look up a number in the contacts to make a call and while I am on a call I can't hit end sometimes. There is also an over-all sluggishness to the phone but I think that is because of the low volume CPU. I am upgraded to 2.1. I have tried to reboot. And reset the phone completely. I wonder if there is a way I can turn off or delete motoblur and just use the android?

I had a great workout this morning, but when I was done, the calorie count was at 111. I worked out for 50 minutes and was expecting this to be at least 600.
When I uploaded the data, the calorie count stopped at about 10 minutes into the workout and the distance also stopped incrementing. I had heart rate information, but it was much lower than what I expected (I was working out much harder than the heart rate information shows.).
The image shows the results of the data. what could have caused this malfunction of the device?

I've run into a bit of a problem, as have MANY Photon 4G owners have as well.since mounting my Electrify as a USB mass storage device (the two "MOT" drives pop up in explorer), now the internal storage (which is where everything is) comes up as an unreadable drive.It mounted fine when I got it, then stopped working, then worked for a day, now it doesn't work.I've tried uninstalling drivers, taking out the battery, SD card, etc etc.

It's been over a year since I posted here, because it's been that long since I had a problem. (And people say the Backflip is not any good). Anyway I tried to add another gmail acct this morning. And got an error msg "unable to establish a secure connection to server". After trying several times over a few hours, I began to wonder if it was Google or not, so I tried a hotmail account, same basic errror msg. Tried to check for any updates, and got the same basic msg.I can access websites through the browser, just not do anything related to system files.Talked to AT&T (No Help of course), as far as I can tell all settings are correct, even though I know there is a setting somewhere that is not right.

My phone was working ok until I had to turned it off during the boot process when an important meeting. I turned it off by removing the battery as I didn't it to wait the boot process. After that the phone just don't finish booting up. I can see the blur logo, then goes into the at&t logo. Sits there for few minutes and reboots.

since i upgraded my backflip from cupcake to froyo 2.1, my phone keeps restarting itself especially when i try to perform multiple operations. it also gets very hot during charging. as it is the moment, i dont enjoy my phone.

I check my 'Happenings' and find there are hundreds of new messages, which is weird because I keep up with reading the new ones as they come in. As I page through them, I find that the 'new' happenings go from current messages to some that are a week old...in other words, happenings that I've already read a week ago are coming back as 'new'. This has happened several times.

i turned off my backflip for recharging earlier today. when i turn the device on now, it just keeps rebooting. i will see the Motorola Blur logo, then the ATT 3G animation, screen goes black, then comes Motorola blur logo again, follows by the ATT 3G animation. it seems like the phone is stuck in a "rebooting loop".I tried to pull the battery out and put it back it, it does not help.

So, I tried updating my phone to 2.1 via the method provided.Using an SD card reader I have confirmed that the .zip is on the root drive of the SD card, and is also the same name as it was when downloaded.However, when I go to About Phone -> System Updates, it notifies me that my system is up to date and no updates are available.

My BACKFLIP will reboot itself every few minutes. I don't have to be using it or doing anything with it and it will just reboot itself. It will reboot during a call, texting, charging or any other time it decides to do it. I have done several factory resets and it still does it. It has worked fine for almost 2 years and about a month ago it just started rebooting. There's nothing I've tried that will resolve this problem. The way it looks on the BACKFLIP page its a major problem with a lot of the BACKFLIP phones. This is the second BACKFLIP my family has had the same problem with. My brother just got tired of messing with his and got a new phone. If I could afford the upgrade charges of a new phone I'd do the same thing!

Att is suppose to be getting me a new unlock code for my backflip, so that I can switch to Tmobile,Once my phone is unlocked, will I be able to remove the ATT bloatware or compile the android OS released from motorola without it?Will any other ATT restrictions on the phone be lifted once it's fully unlocked?

I have an iPhone 6 plus and recently purchased the Jawbone UP Move. The issue I am having is that both my Jawbone and healthkit are writing steps data to the dashboard. This is causing step counts to be extremely high. Additionally, the Jawbone is duplicating steps that it delivers to healthkit. So what I am seeing is duplicate Jawbone + Healthkit steps in my dashboard. Is there any way to turn off Healthkit from counting steps?Â

My Nokia N95 can receive a Calendar appointment from Outlook via "Send To Bluetooth". My BackFlip doesn't seem to support the appropriate bluetooth profiles and Windows says "Could not connect..." on Calendar send attempt, even though it is paired.
