May 2, 2011I am having problems syncing my contacts and I now have two and three of the same entry. I would like to clean them out and begin again but don't want to do them individually.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Delete All The Contacts?
May 26, 2011Yesterday, I finally managed to disable the Verizon Wireless Backup Assistant because I only want my Droid to sync with my Gmail contacts. Can I delete all the contacts stored in my device and force it to sync with my Gmail contacts?
I've also noticed my device contacts list seems to be pulling all sorts of information from all sorts of places (I'm listed in my contacts list with an old street address, for instance). Is there a way I can tell where the device is pulling contact info from?

Incoming messages sync correctly but messages I delete on the phone do not delete from the server. On the D1 the two-way sync worked correctly for emails deleted on the phone but I can't seem to get it to work on the D4.My settings for the corporate sync account are:Username: full @hotmail email addressPassword: passwordServer: m.hotmail.comUse secure connection: yesProxy: blankAnyone else having this problem? Aug 7, 2011I assigned pics to a bunch of my contacts and was pleased to see they synced over to my Exchange account. All of my Android phones I've had since then (G1, Droid, G2, Sidekick 4) pulled those pictures down from Exchange once I set up my contact sync and showed them in Contacts, when I'd get an incoming call from that person, in the text messaging app, etc.
But, the Droid3 doesn't. I'm guessing this is because it looks like it uses a custom app for Exchange, but still, I'd like to see it fixed/added. FWIW, contact pics from my Google+ contacts do show up.

I looked in the store and my phone had single recordings of the contacts, for a total of around 600. I came home, signed in and synced with GMail which only has 3 contacts and was trying to figure out how to send my phone contacts to Gmail. I'm not sure what I did but I suddenly have 1200 contacts on my phone and onl,y 3 contacts in Gmail.

Apr 5, 2012I had recently purchased my first Android device, a Moto Defy+. This is not a carrier locked phone.
I use my gmail contacts as the default address book and when i signed up for Moto blur account, it somehow made a backup of all my gmail contacts on motoblur. Now, i can see the same contact details twice for every address book entry. During the backup process, motoblur deleted the leading zeros from all phone numbers. Even though gmail is my default address book, the phone picks up motoblur stored info while making calls - due to which I am now unable to make long distance calls from my phone unless i manually go and edit/delete the phone numbers from the motoblur section on the address book. needless to say, this is very irritating as i have over a 1000 contacts.
How do i delete all my contacts from the motoblur section? i do not really use the motoblur account for anything and if deleting the motoblur account is a solution, i'll be happy to do that. however, i do not want to do a factory setting restore.

Once the messages have been deleted everything is fine, but if I shut the phone down and power up again, all the previous messages that were deleted appear back in my Cox "In" Box. Sep 17, 2012I tried the motocast utility that is supposed to sync music from my PC to my phone. This utility is not for me and I've uninstalled it on my PC. The problem is I now have thousands of what I call "Ghost Images" in the music player that I do not want. I'd like to just wipe the music player clean and start over. How can I do this? Dec 5, 2011I'm running out of memory on my Moto Milestone/Droid. From what I can tell, the app that is taking up the most internal space is MotoNav at 17.73 MB (= 17.49 MB of data and 248 KB of app). My trial period has already expired though it appears I can still use it now (I'm assuming with its existing maps).I've read it's hard to remove MotoNav from the phone because it's a system app. That's fine but what happens if I just want to delete all the data from this app? Is that ok? Are there any long term ramifications to do that? What happens if say, I chose to buy an activation key for it at a later date? Will I be able to redownload all that data (the maps, etc) again?

May 2, 2011Am looking for any insight on how to clear thumbnails of pictures/videos from my gallery that have already been deleted off my phone. I have already tried powering off/on my phone, removing/replacing my battery and unmounting/remounting SD card. Have also tried going to Settings> Applications> Gallery and then clearing the data to see if it would reset the gallery but the thumbnails remain. Also went to the Gallery> All photos (and All videos)> Menu> Select Items and checked the photos and videos I wanted removed and then tried to delete them again but still the thumbnails remain.
