Galaxy S5 :: Deleting Trashed Emails From Trash Folder
Jul 8, 2014I'm having a problem deleting all my trashed emails. Since I've gotten the S5 I've been getting rid of emails quickly. They also reside on my PC's Outlook so I decided not to have 875 emails cluttering up the S5. I use the combined view for my 2 non-Gmail accounts. All was working well until recently when there appeared to be 52 emails that remain even after I select all. 42 are from one account and the other 10 from the other account. I've tried deleting the trash from each account separately but the 52 keep reappearing when I "Show all folders" in the combined view (and the 42 from one and 10 from the other when I look at each account).
How can I delete this peskly "deck-of-cards" (52) emails? I guess the most drastic would be to delete the two accounts and start all over, but I'm curious to know how it might have happened in the first place.
Here's a picture of the situation. The only difference in the 3rd image is that after I delete, what shows as remaining in the trash is 52.

Apr 27, 2012I have a Droid Razr. I love the phone. I use the email application that looks like an envelope with a "@" partially sticking out of it. It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.

I have the incoming and outgoing servers set up correctly (GoDaddy gave me the info). Jun 8, 2011I've had this phone for about a year and have always had issues of not receiving Hotmail emails within a reasonable amount of time. With the GB update it did get a little better but today when I turned on my phone at 7am and it's now 10:30am I have not received any emails. I checked my Hotmail account on a desktop pc and I had 12 emails since last night as recently as 15 minutes ago. I thought GB was supposed to fix this. My battery life is not better if possibly worse with GB. And yes my Droid X does turn back on when I turn it off. Looks like GB may have fixed some things but broke others

But the Turbo doesn't have a 'native' email app so I downloaded the Outlook app. Many emails that I 'send' don't show in 'Sent' folder (or received by recipient). Tech support says they're aware of the problem and are working on it. But for now I'm stuck without a trustworthy email app.

Dec 1, 2012I have had problems with emails in my Microsoft Exchange account not displaying (completely blank body), not showing correct HTML content, and in some cases not showing the sender address. Now I don't know if it is inappropriate to say so on this forum, but I rooted the phone in order to uninstall the Moto email client, and install the stock ICS email client. Once I did that, none of my emails are blank, most HTML content shows correctly, and other quirky issues seem to have improved. But, the stock email client also does not have a search feature (big problem), you cannot swipe in the message list, and it's application icon does not show a badge for the number of unread emails. So it is a bit of a sacrifice to have to revert to the stock client just to be able to read my email. I have also tried TouchDown email and it displays all the Exchange emails fantastically, but it's look and feel is a bit crummy and it costs $20.
