I've had this phone for about a year and have always had issues of not receiving Hotmail emails within a reasonable amount of time. With the GB update it did get a little better but today when I turned on my phone at 7am and it's now 10:30am I have not received any emails. I checked my Hotmail account on a desktop pc and I had 12 emails since last night as recently as 15 minutes ago. I thought GB was supposed to fix this. My battery life is not better if possibly worse with GB. And yes my Droid X does turn back on when I turn it off. Looks like GB may have fixed some things but broke others
I'm no longer receiving hotmail emails to my Blackberry. I am able to send hotmail emails from my phone but not receive. My hotmail account is working well via my pc. I'm also receiving emails to my other non-hotmail account on my blackberry.I have been on the phone with my carrier O2 about this over 10 times and they have confirmed its either a Blackberry or Hotmail problem, not an O2 issue.I have tried nearly everything; removed and readded my hotmail account on both the Blackberry Internet Service website (via device browser) and Email Settings on Device, turning phone on/off, host routing table and registering etc..nothing seems to be working.Hotmail have suggested I re-configure the pop3 settings on my phone, but I don't understand how this can be done. I am on a Blackberry Curve 8520 and only just recently bought the phone.
Right after the ICS update to my D4, my IMAP email stopped receiving emails. I kept getting an error saying "username or password incorrect." I tried rebooting the phone and deleting/recreating the email account but I still get the same message. I didn't change the password to my email account in the 30-40 minutes it took to update my phone.
So I noticed that when I send an email through Exchange. I end up sending anywhere between 3 and 15 emails. and also get a "message not sent" display at the notifcation bar. My other incoming emails (except gmail) I get between 10 and 20 copies of emails coming in. I have tried restarting, reinitializing the email clients. etc with no avail.
I'm having a issues where my hotmail email were working fine for months no issues then on the 8 of august stopped. It was not long after I took the new UK update for my phone 4.4.20 I have not recieved any emails. I haven't changed any setting my battaries on 'Night - time saver', I have also tried forcing it to refresh it just sit there for ages getting nowhere.
I am having no luck trying to send any picture to someone using my Hotmail account. I can recieve any message fine and reply just with text but if i attatch any file (so far picture) it doesnt allow me.
I had to send a file through a MMS just so they could get it.
I have a new Droid 4 and cannot get my hotmail working. I have added the account under "Accounts" and it said it was successfully added and is in the account list. However, I'm not getting any emails...not the old ones or new ones coming in. My gmail account is working just great. How can I get my hotmail to work?
an issue receiving Hotmail on Droid x after the 2.3.3 update? I can send an e-mail, but I can't receive one. I've done everything I can think of from changing ports, to re-adding the account, many factory reset, battery pulls, reboots, cache clears and had to call tech support. After several hours on the phone with both Verizon and Motorola tech's as well as these forums to try to resolve the issue the best answer I was given was to try an app off the market place or ship my phone to Motorola for repair.
I currently have a Droid Pro, wanted to set up Hotmail as IMAP or Active Sync. Currently have it set up as POP3, but wanted the full capabilities from the phone. (Yes, I know, the simple answer is to switch to gmail, but I have had this hotmail account for many years). I have tried the steps listed here: [URL]
Added a Corporate Sync account. Entered these parameters: Email Address: <my email> Password: <my password> Domain: Blank Username: <my email> Server: m.hotmail.com Use secure connection: Checked
When I enter these details, it adds the account to the phone. However, when I go into that account, after a few minutes I get an error: "Unable to connect to Hotmail1." The strange thing is, I am able to see my subfolder set up after it timed out while trying to connect. How to get Hotmail working on a Droid Pro...other than POP3?
I just learned about Hotmail email issue. I tried to send a message from hotmail to other personal email. I do not see any message in my personal email from hotmail.
On Windows Phone, you can set it to automatically store your pics to your Hotmail account. Can you do that with the Turbo? (Or Droid OS). I'm thinking this is more of an OS related question, but I've been reading that the version of OS on the Turbo is almost stock so not quite sure how it works. When you store it to the cloud, is it the native version of the photo or does it use compression?
Just bought a new phone today - have set up email with my hotmail... the emails send from my phone straight away, but recieving hotmail emails onto my phone takes literally ages, and then they all come through at once although the last few havent come through at all.
My last message from my hotmail email account to my device was as of 6 pm today.....but I've been seeing emails come into my inbox since then through regular login on the web?...I resent service books and rebooted my device just so I know I'm not going crazy....anyone else with hotmail/msn experiencing this?
Bought my first nokia phone for 9 days and already has several problems. Starting with what is most urgent. Already after 3-4 days disappeared suddenly able to receive mail from my hotmail account, but luckily came back later in the day! So on Friday I got an email from nokia with the text below. I have accordingly made the following (but without result).First I tried to follow the recipe that is in the mail as described below. I first went into hotmail via my computer and changed the password. Then I went into settings on the phone and changed the password there without success. Then I tried to go into the settings in the phone and reset phone to factory mode 3-4 times then use the built-in wizard to configure my hotmail account and wait for the result without success.
I receive e-mails that are written below in Norwegian every day. When I go into the e-mail on mobile phone brings up the yellow / green circle in the corner which I interpret as if everything is ok with connecting to hotmail. But that is not receiving e-mail. Anybody can help me? Preferably by using the internal e-mail program.
Dear nokia messaging clientFor security reasons, Microsoft requires that you change your password with 365-day intervals for Windows Live Hotmail account. Once this is done you will again be able to receive e-mails.Go to Options-Settings-Settings of the mailbox - Password and enter the password again. E-mail delivery to your phone will be resumed shortly thereafter.Sincerely Yours,Nokia Messaging team.
How do I set up my Curve so that when I delete emails from my Hotmail account that it automatically deletes from my Curve. I don't want it to delete from Hotmail when I delete from Curve (and it currently doesn't).
I have a BB Tour with Bell Canada, and recently, our company recently updated our BES server.Ever since the switch, I no longer can sync my BIS server emails. So on my BB, I have my company's BES email(lotus notes), and that syncs up fine...if I delete an email from my BB, it'll delete on my desktop, and vice versa. But for my BIS emails(hotmail), when I delete from my BB, it will not delete the email from my hotmail account...or when I delete from my hotmail account, it'll not delete on my BB.
For some reason I am not getting my hotmail e-mails. I have the address on the BB. It shows the folder, but I am never notifed of new e-mails.this problem just started recently.
I stopped receiving emails from my hotmail accont to my phone yesterday and then had a message from blackberry saying I needed to validate my email, which I did fine and also registered my blackberry ID. However, I still cannot send or receive my emais and when I try to send it comes up with an error message: 'User account is in INVALID mode'. I did change my hotmail password the other day; don't know if this is of importance. In addition, I have tried to modify the email account set up on my blackberry but it will not allow me to access the current account settings or allow me to add a new account, the option just doesn't exist or appear, which had not been an issue up until now. I could, however, set up an enterprise account if wanted. I am not sure who to contact about this so thought I'd post here first...
I have had my phone for over a year now, and have had no problem with emails syncing, etc.My BB emails are connected to a Hotmail account. But all of a sudden, if I delete emails on my Hotmail, they won't delete on my phone, meaning I have to do it manually, which is annoying.I have tried deleting and adding the email account again on my BB but I still have the same problem.
Only in the past two days when I delete an email from Hotmail on my PC, it does not delete on my BB.However, if I delete an email from my BB and select "mailbox & handheld", it is deleted from Hotmail on my PC.I have had the same Pearl 8110 on the same T-mobile package for more than 12 months.I have checked that wireless reconciliation is "on" in my BB email settings. Also, late today my BB has started truncating all my messages and not providing the "more" option or automatically loading the rest of the message.
Is it possible to get a virus on ur phone? One of my friends texted me saying I sent out an email from my phone with a link in it saying something about a virus. My email is a hotmail address And I usually use it from my phone Now. there was only one friend who mentioned anything but I didn't ask around as I have many emails on my phone. Something I can do to get rid of this?
I'm pretty sure that this problem started after the Memorial Day Gingerbread soak.Although, it's possible that it started after the mid-August Gingerbread fiasco.I can be sitting at my computer desk in my house and receive a Voicemail notification, only to learn that it was for a call that never rang or vibrated on my Droid X perhaps a quarter of an hour before. This has happened numerous times, while most of the time, the phone rings and calls arrive correctly.
I know that with the Gingerbread update the duplicate SMS issue was supposed to be fixed but it is still horrendous on my phone. I just received 10..10 copies of the same SMS. This is not a one off occurrence either. Almost daily I receive multiple copies of the same message. I know I'm on a Droid 2 and am due for a much needed upgrade but am trying to hold out for a Droid 5 (if there is even to be one). In other words I'll probably wait until the beginning of 2013 before I pull the trigger on a new phone. Is it safe to say there are no more software updates coming? I know it won't be ICS or anything but any bug fixes? The last time I reset my phone was approximately 60 hours ago, it just froze so had to hard reset.
Specifically, this is about my PC not receiving emailed forum messages for the past few days. I've fiddled with my Outlook settings, hit the Stop email notifications link, hit the Receive email notifications link after exiting IE 9, etc.
I had a Curve 8330 and had a problem with it sync-ing to my computer. Verizon sent me a new phone and it works fine. The only problem is that all of my old emails/texts are on the old device and I need them in my new device. Is there any way to download/sync the new device so that I get access to my old messages? Even if I could download/sync directly from hotmail.I would love to have my old BBMs too but that is definitely secondary.
I brought a new Blackberry Curve 8520 recently (PIN No: XXXXXXX) from China from a branded Blackberry Showroom. And OH I almsot forgot Im taking my precious time and the added pain to write this post to get a resolution instead of a diplomatic happy go lucky and irresponsible answer saying that "We are very sorry that feature is yet not available" or "We are sorry to hear that we will do that in near future", I've heard lot of Sorry's and Apologies over this issue, so please don't feel sorry about that if your not really sorry! My problems described step by step:
A) Whenever I receive an email on my Hotmail which is successfully configured on my BB, if there is a filter to sort it into a predefined FOLDER, then BB fails to retrieve that email?
B) Its logical to sort your emails into folders if your getting tons of email and your business relies on that medium of communication?
C) This is a GLOBAL issue faced by every BB user? Oh Yes I already did some research on the BB Support Forums and everywhere else.
D) Since my Blackberry model is 8520 aka. SmartPhone which is an understatement? SmartPhone I mean come on ? Its a Dumb Phone that cant detect Email Folders!
C) I don't want to pile up my other emails by using a solution which youre about to say -> Forward your email to another email address Inbox! Or asking me to upgrade my Hotmail?
D) Gmail works perfectly under this scenario, ie. I also use Gmail thanks to my conscience I can successfully receive all emails even if they are sorted or filtered into Folders!
E) Should we urge to ask Uncle Billy to modify Hotmail so that this work on everyones BB? Sure that would be fun but I think he's too busy!
So, the Answer I can predict with my super powers is -> Either NONE you wont respond at all! or this post might get deleted because of the nature of this issue being over reacted upon or you will say "Sorry we are working on that since our Programmers, Technicians and Engineers goofed up big time, but hopefully we will be able to fix it in the next BB so you should throw this one as soon as a new one arrives and make another Dumb purchase of a Dumb Phone !
Recently I have been unable to send messages from my Hotmail account on my BB Torch, the message initially appears to have sent OK then after a few seconds a red cross is displayed and the Message Status changes to General Failure.
