Motorola Droid Razr :: Delete Emails From It Without Deleting From Out?
Sep 7, 2012
I am set up Corporate sync. when I delete emails on my phone the emails are put in the deleted items folder in outlook. How do I configure the phone to only delete on the phone without deleting in outlook?
I have a Droid Razr. I love the phone. I use the email application that looks like an envelope with a "@" partially sticking out of it. It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). I've looked and looked and can't find a setting on the phone that would prevent this.
prior to ICE after deleting e-mails I could see a list of my e-mail folders, go to the trash folder and empty it. I have been trying but can't seem to find how to go to those folders. I can't seem to trash my photo either. I know I am missing something here but just can't figure out how to do it.
How to I delete apps that i have downloaded and uninstalled in the past. I had a update notification for some of the Razr apps and i see old apps that i have uninstalled when i had my Samsung Vibrant. Do they stay there indefinitely even though there uninstalled and not running?
I have like 15 updates already. Is there a way to delete Netflix? I'm guessing only the Downloaded apps that are in "Applications" can be deleted right?
My emails don't synchronized correctly. I mean, I can check my emails in my computer and the new messages are there, but then I go and check my phone and they are not there even if I request new emails. This seems to happen often. I have deleted the account and add it again sometimes so it can sync correctly.
I have had problems with emails in my Microsoft Exchange account not displaying (completely blank body), not showing correct HTML content, and in some cases not showing the sender address. Now I don't know if it is inappropriate to say so on this forum, but I rooted the phone in order to uninstall the Moto email client, and install the stock ICS email client. Once I did that, none of my emails are blank, most HTML content shows correctly, and other quirky issues seem to have improved. But, the stock email client also does not have a search feature (big problem), you cannot swipe in the message list, and it's application icon does not show a badge for the number of unread emails. So it is a bit of a sacrifice to have to revert to the stock client just to be able to read my email. I have also tried TouchDown email and it displays all the Exchange emails fantastically, but it's look and feel is a bit crummy and it costs $20.
I am trying to figure out how I delete corporate emails from my phone only and not have it delete from my Corporate Outlook inbox as well. I've tried everything I can find and still am having no luck.
I cannot find a way to do a mass delete of e-mails from a folder...mostly, from my "Trash" e-mail. You must delete (tap on each e-mails "box") one at a time...prior to selecting "delete".This is extremely time consuming for someone receiving a lot of e-mails.
When I receive a file with extension DOCX (created by Microsoft Word from Office 2010), my new Razr does not recognize the file extension (does not associate the file extension with an app). How can I overcome this?

Since the upgrade, my maxx keeps downloading e-mails 18-25 at a time. These are old e-mail, and we are now clear back to Feb. 2012. I'll delete all and about 10 minutes later, I see it downloading again. This is a pop-server account. New e-mails seem to find there way in fine.
Does anyone beside me get duplicate (sometimes over a hundred) emails on their Droid RAZR? I have two different gmail accounts syncing to my phone but only one of them has this issue.
I am using Droid Razr ICS for some reason today none of my text messages will delete. I am using the Razrs text messaging app when I try to delete I get all the correct prompts to delete any message. When I select the last prompt to delete, you go back to the message list. The actual message appears to be deleted but you still see all the people or group you sent to or received from, which makes no sense to me. I have tried deleting and rebooting the device no change.
There are some apps on my Razor that I don't what or need . Is there anyway to delete them? I've already tried the normal way, it doesn't give the option to uninstall.
Is there a way to make my email go to the next message after I delete a message. As it is, when I delete a message, it takes me back to the inbox. I'd like it to just go to the next message.
When emails are deleted from phone, they are also deleted from desktop Outlook 2010 (GoDaddy is email supplier). Where do I change the settings? on the phone or desktop email? and what do I need to set them to? IMAP or POP?
Since the last automatic Droid Razr update a few weeks ago it is very complicated to mark all unread emails as read! It was easy to do before but after this update it seems not to work! If go to my main email account I can sort the email by date, unread, or other options. I select by unread. I then press the menu key and select "select all". Then some iconw appear in the bottom: a trash, a mail, and a flag. I select the mail one and it opens up and the word "mark read" appears but the messages don't clear as read. It used to work without issues before the update.
