Is there a way to make my email go to the next message after I delete a message. As it is, when I delete a message, it takes me back to the inbox. I'd like it to just go to the next message.
View 4 Replieswhen setting up your Gmail in the stock email app to use it that way or take advantage of the Universal Inbox you should do it this way.
1. if you set it up already by My Accounts > Add Account > Email Accounts > Gmail then you need to delete that account
2. go to My Accounts > Add Account > Email Accounts > Other
3. use the following:
Incoming Settings
IMAP server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Security type: SSL (always)
Outgoing settings
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
Security type: SSL (always)
this will now work as it should.the problem was that if you set it up with Gmail selected instead of Other then when you checked an email on the RAZR it would not show as Read on your Gmail account and same with Sent folder etc...
I have had a lot of trouble with my phone, I make a call and it connects with the party. But they say I am connected but they can not hear me and I can not here them! Also I do not here any ringing to the other party. If I reboot the phone it works, but after an hour or so I have to do the same thing again..... (reboot).

I guess my question would be is there a problem with yahoo servers or is motorola and yahoo just not playing nice? I keep getting emails in triplicate and Im not sure what causes it. Some days it will work just fine and I'll get my email correctly and other times I wake up with like 30 emails but there will be just repeat messages in triplicate.

I am using the Razrs text messaging app when I try to delete I get all the correct prompts to delete any message. When I select the last prompt to delete, you go back to the message list. The actual message appears to be deleted but you still see all the people or group you sent to or received from, which makes no sense to me. I have tried deleting and rebooting the device no change.

Motorola's support section says that Optimum recommends using a browser to access mobile email (what???? I have to go get it??? It won't come to me???) but then provides the settings to use in the email app. Using auto configuration, I'm receiving my email in seconds, but I can't send email from the phone. I've tried to configure it manually (the automatic configuration provides the wrong name for the outgoing server) but so far, no combination of settings has resulted in my ability to send an email from optimum on my Droid Razr.

It all works great, but is there SOME way to delete emails from there without it deleting them from my email server? My email is in gmail; on the desktop at home I read it through Firefox. If I delete ANY messages on the phone, even messages that have been read, they are deleted from my gmail account at home (they are in the trash). View 4 Replies View RelatedSince using ICS on my RazrMaxx When checking email it takes forever (ok 4-8 minutes) to connect and check the mail. It is a gmail based email set up under messaging. Battery Life has dropped dramatically. No universal volume controls for messaging and calls (For example if I want to adjust my phone ringtone to be very soft by using the rocker switch on the side it now only controls just the phone ringer. Messaging would still be at the volume you have the settings at. Previously the rocker switch controlled all volume.)

I was sent to the email settings page and asked to enter my password. Did that...still get the same message. I found a thread in this forum (since have been unable to relocate it) where someone suggested disabling a need for two step authentication in google and another said to do a factory reset. how to do either of those two things.
