On my Droid X I was able to program the voicemail button to dial *86 pause enter the password pause enter 1 to hear new messages. This is handy when driving. Is there any way to do this on the Razr Maxx? It says contact cannot be edited.

There appear to be two ways to get to voicemail on the Bionic (regular voicemail, not visual voicemail which I don't use). The first way is to pull down the notification bar when the voicemail icon shows up there, then press it to check the voicemail. The second is the voicemail app which is on the phone. Pressing that app icon brings up another screen that says call voicemail and also tries to sell you the Verizon visual voicemail service.
After getting the phone, I went to Settings, Call Settings, Voicemail Settings and inserted some pauses and my password so that when I dial voicemail I don't have to do anything but listed to the first message. After doing this I sent myself a test voicemail to verify that it was working properly. When I use the first way described above, it works fine - just like it used to work on the OG Droid. I press the notification button and the phone automatically dials voicemail, puts in my information, and I hear the voicemail without having to interact with the phone.
When I use the voicemail app, it does not appear to pick up the settings I inserted, all it does is dial *86. As a result, it wants me to enter my password before letting me listen to the voicemail. Is there some place I can enter the same settings that work with the other method into the voicemail app so it works the same way or do I just delete the icon from my home screen and use the old tried and true method. I cannot find any place that I can enter setting information into the app.
Just got my Droid X2, and reguardless of what my profile says this is not my first phone...have had them since old bag phones.. but anyway when I try to put in my password..it keeps putting in a 1 when I am trying to put in a small cap l .. besides changing my password to something wothout the letter l . and yes I am sure that I am not using the numbers?

View 13 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I both have the Razr Maxx. On day one, we attached our Google Voice accounts to our new Verizon accounts. A couple of days ago, a Verizon voicemail notification showed up on my wife's phone, my phone is working fine.
When I click on the notfication icon, it dials *86 and I just get the voicemail greeting from Voice and it allow me to leave a voicemail, which is very strange. The icon "New Voicemail(1)" will not go away. There is no delete option. I tried hitting 7 in call to delete the message. I even tried to force close the app and clear cache. I have searched Google and several phone forums. I even unregistered her Voice and registered it again.
On the first gen droid you could send a number directly to voicemail, or have a silent ring. However, I cannot figure out how to do it on the Droid Razr...There is no option, and it will not allow me to create a Smart Action to do so, either. If you know

When wifi is turned off or is unavailable after leaving the house, the phone will not automatically switch to 4G LTE data. To switch to 4G, the phone has to be rebooted. Mobile networks is set to CDMA/LTE. Enable data access over Mobile network is set to ON. Enable background data is set to ON. Data Saver is NOT enabled. Is the phone supposed to automatically switch between wifi and mobile data? If so, how can I make it work.

On the HTC Dinc, when reading an article or something on the phone, if you pinched to zoom making the text larger, it would automatically reformat to fit the width of the phone, so you didn't have to scroll right/left to read the entire line. The MAXX HD doesn't seem to do this. If I pinch and zoom in on text, it just makes the text bigger but doesn't reformat it to fit the width of the phone, so I have to scroll left/right to read the entire line.

In the location field on calendar appointments I could type the conference bridge number, then "x" and then the passcode. When I clicked the number, it would dial it, and then prompt me to enter the passcode. For example, if the number was 800-555-1212 Passcode 1234, I would enter it in the calendar as 8005551212x1234. It would dial the number, and then prompt me to click ok to enter the passcode number (1234). The RAZR will let you memorize one conference bridge, but that is all.

My screen will not auto-rotate when I move the phone.If I open an app or watch a video that is in landscape it till rotate, but when I close the app/video the screen will not rotate back.I have to turn off the screen, rotate the phone and the unlock the phone to get the screen to rotate.I have my display settings set to auto-rotate.I have this issue using Blur launcher, GoLauncher, and ADW.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought my wife the Razr M from AmazonWireless and she loves the upgrade from her Droid X, but we're having problems with barcode scanners.
When taking pictures using the built in camera app, autofocus works fine. However, when scanning a barcode using any app that supports barcode scanning, the camera never autofocuses and since the barcode is out of focus, it can't be scanned. We've tried it using ZXing Barcode Scanner, the Munzee app, and the walgreens pharmacy app.
I haven't been able to find any reports of others having a similar issue which makes me think it might be a hardware issue.
Is there a way to make my email go to the next message after I delete a message. As it is, when I delete a message, it takes me back to the inbox. I'd like it to just go to the next message.

1. if you set it up already by My Accounts > Add Account > Email Accounts > Gmail then you need to delete that account
2. go to My Accounts > Add Account > Email Accounts > Other
3. use the following:
Incoming Settings
IMAP server: imap.gmail.com
Port: 993
Security type: SSL (always)
Outgoing settings
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 465
Security type: SSL (always)
this will now work as it should.the problem was that if you set it up with Gmail selected instead of Other then when you checked an email on the RAZR it would not show as Read on your Gmail account and same with Sent folder etc...

This works fine EXCEPT for when I use the sleep mode (Power button-Sleep). If I let it sleep over-night then wake it up, it does NOT require the PIN number. View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since the ICS update, whenever I select a text or something in the notification bar it asks me to enter my lock screen pattern. I use an app called no lock so it's easy to turn off when I'm at home and don't need the security. When I have the locking turned off and turn the screen off and on it doesn't ask for the pattern like it shouldn't. But whenever I select something in the notification bar i have to enter the pattern. I have tried different lock screens but it does it for all but the slide i think.
