I've notice what I'd consider a security issue. I have my phone set up to require a PIN after 20 minutes of non-use. This works fine EXCEPT for when I use the sleep mode (Power button-Sleep). If I let it sleep over-night then wake it up, it does NOT require the PIN number. So that means that if the phone were taken and I'd put it to sleep, then phone's vulnerable

I have my camera set to use my external SD card I'm not sure how to set apps, downloads, music etc to use external. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect.It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.

I watch the stock market while I am working at my computer and using my phone and it will automatically go to sleep after a set time that only goes up to 10 minutes with the new ICS 4.0.4. Why can't I deactivate this? This is really annoying.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPrior to the ICS update, there was a setting which prevented the phone from "sleeping" (turning off the screen and locking the device) while plugged into a power supply (and therefore, also plugged into my car dock since I always plug it into the cigarette lighter while plugged into the car dock).
I don't see that setting since ICS was installed. Of course, I can turn off the "Display power saver" option, which will prevent it from dimming, but the "Sleep" setting has options of 15 seconds to 10 minutes, no option to not sleep at all.
Because of the lack of this setting, I have to keep tapping the phone to keep it awake while using the Google Maps Navigation app. This is distracting and should be unnecesssary.
Looking to extend on time till auto sleep to one hour.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI returned my first RAZR because the crackle and buzzing on speaker phone / playing videos was too much. On this phone it's less pronounced but still there. Anyway the sleep timer on thus new phone does not work. I did a factory reset and nothing. Non related but I noticed that my 4G speed on this new phone is way slower. Maybe that's a Verizon issue.
I hope I can get this sleep timer issue solved.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThere is a setting to enable the RAZR to automatically keep its time correct by syncing with a time server somewhere on the internet. When I checked the time on my RAZR against my PC, where I have a service that sets the time from an atomic clock, I found that the RAZR was off by more than 14 seconds. I disabled the option and instead installed an app called "ClockSync" that sets the correct time. Unfortunately, the automatic time update setting is required by Verizon in order to login to My Verizon Mobile, so I either give up checking my data and call usage or I give up accurate time. This is very annoying. Can we get Verizon to use a reliable time server instead of whatever they are using now?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI find that if I set the camera to HDR it stays there as long as I just open and close the camera. If I switch to video and back or switch from rear to front camera it no longer has the HDR setting I have to change it again. Same issue if I reboot. The setting does not want to stay on HDR.

Quite correctly it has smtp errors as the smtp setting is for the 3g carrier (mail.optusnet.com.au). So question is "How do you configure the Motorola RAZR XT910 Droid to allow a secondary SMTP setting when in an allowed and configured wireless zone?"I should not have to turn off my wireless and should not have to manually change the smtp setting each time I want to send from inside the wireless connection.I tried setting up a second account with just the smtp being different (eg. mail.carrier.com.au) but was unable to setup the account as it said the account was already setup.

When I do click sleep, the screen goes black, like it should, but I cannot bring my phone out of it. Before I upgraded to Jelly Bean I could press and hold the power button for a second and it would bring up a menu that included "Power off", "Airplane mode", "Sleep mode" and some others. Now after upgrading from ICS to Jelly Bean there is no "Sleep mode" selection.Did something go wrong with my upgrade or has "Sleep mode" been removed?Also, I was using the live wallpaper "Grass" and that is gone as well. View 11 Replies View RelatedThe screen goes to sleep after the specified time (default of 30 seconds, I have not changed that) even when on a call (both normal calling or when on speaker) Problem is, the only way to activate the screen again is to hit the power key, but this also hangs up the call. Is this a feature/bug, and is there a way around this issue? I don't really want to change the time to sleep to a longer time, as this would waste the battery for other use.

The problem seems to be that 'dim' function before the screen sleeps is actually brightening the screen. I'm guessing system is not checking the current brightness of the screen. Bluetooth functionality doesn't work well. There's so much idosyncratic about this OS that I personally do NOT like.
It seems that this release is typical of a manufacturer letting their user base beta test the OS for them.
I've had this razr maxx hd just beyond the verizon "no worry" 14 day period and now its turning off and restarting on its own. It seems to hapen if Im texting and an email comes in but not totally certain. Is this something I'm just going to have to deal with until 4. comes out and hope JB doesnt hav the same issue? Verizon will replace it but with a refurb...Lets see..I bought it btand new 17 days ago, and they want to replace it with a refurbished phone
