Motorola Droid Razr M :: RAZR M WiFi Doesn't Wake From Sleep?
Oct 25, 2012I have WiFi enabled. Often when I am near a wireless access point, my RAZR M still uses 4G. It's as if the WiFi is going to sleep when I power the screen off, but it doesn't wake up again. Turning WiFi off and on makes it reconnect.It seems to happen mostly when I'm at home, where I also use the Motorola flip stand with "ESP" smart charger, and a NetGear dual-band wireless router/access point.

Jul 5, 2012I really hate how I have to choose a set time to have my phone go to sleep. I watch the stock market while I am working at my computer and using my phone and it will automatically go to sleep after a set time that only goes up to 10 minutes with the new ICS 4.0.4. Why can't I deactivate this? This is really annoying.

Sep 17, 2012Prior to the ICS update, there was a setting which prevented the phone from "sleeping" (turning off the screen and locking the device) while plugged into a power supply (and therefore, also plugged into my car dock since I always plug it into the cigarette lighter while plugged into the car dock).
I don't see that setting since ICS was installed. Of course, I can turn off the "Display power saver" option, which will prevent it from dimming, but the "Sleep" setting has options of 15 seconds to 10 minutes, no option to not sleep at all.
Because of the lack of this setting, I have to keep tapping the phone to keep it awake while using the Google Maps Navigation app. This is distracting and should be unnecesssary.

Jan 25, 2012I have noticed while on a call the screen will go dark, and when I go to end the call it does not light back up so I can see the end button. I find that I have to push the power button to get the screen to wake up so I can see the end button.

Dec 4, 2011I returned my first RAZR because the crackle and buzzing on speaker phone / playing videos was too much. On this phone it's less pronounced but still there. Anyway the sleep timer on thus new phone does not work. I did a factory reset and nothing. Non related but I noticed that my 4G speed on this new phone is way slower. Maybe that's a Verizon issue.
I hope I can get this sleep timer issue solved.

Mar 15, 2012I've notice what I'd consider a security issue. I have my phone set up to require a PIN after 20 minutes of non-use. This works fine EXCEPT for when I use the sleep mode (Power button-Sleep). If I let it sleep over-night then wake it up, it does NOT require the PIN number. Apr 6, 2012While using the DROID Razr Maxx at home, wifi is turned on and works great. When wifi is turned off or is unavailable after leaving the house, the phone will not automatically switch to 4G LTE data. To switch to 4G, the phone has to be rebooted. Mobile networks is set to CDMA/LTE. Enable data access over Mobile network is set to ON. Enable background data is set to ON. Data Saver is NOT enabled. Is the phone supposed to automatically switch between wifi and mobile data? If so, how can I make it work.

Dec 12, 2012I recently upgraded to the Razr MAXX HD from a HTC Droid Incredible. On the HTC Dinc, when reading an article or something on the phone, if you pinched to zoom making the text larger, it would automatically reformat to fit the width of the phone, so you didn't have to scroll right/left to read the entire line. The MAXX HD doesn't seem to do this. If I pinch and zoom in on text, it just makes the text bigger but doesn't reformat it to fit the width of the phone, so I have to scroll left/right to read the entire line.

Apr 25, 2012One thing I miss that my old Blackberry could do is to automatically dial both the conference bridge number and the passcode. In the location field on calendar appointments I could type the conference bridge number, then "x" and then the passcode. When I clicked the number, it would dial it, and then prompt me to enter the passcode. For example, if the number was 800-555-1212 Passcode 1234, I would enter it in the calendar as 8005551212x1234. It would dial the number, and then prompt me to click ok to enter the passcode number (1234). The RAZR will let you memorize one conference bridge, but that is all.

Oct 2, 2012I bought my wife the Razr M from AmazonWireless and she loves the upgrade from her Droid X, but we're having problems with barcode scanners.
When taking pictures using the built in camera app, autofocus works fine. However, when scanning a barcode using any app that supports barcode scanning, the camera never autofocuses and since the barcode is out of focus, it can't be scanned. We've tried it using ZXing Barcode Scanner, the Munzee app, and the walgreens pharmacy app.
I haven't been able to find any reports of others having a similar issue which makes me think it might be a hardware issue.

Jul 5, 2012I'm probably just blind, but where is the setting (If it's still there) in the contact lists to have it only display contacts with a phone number? Otherwise I end up with every person I email on my exchange account on my contacts list.

Jul 15, 2012I found the System Settings > Display > Brightness > Display Power Saver checkbox, but turning it off or on doesn't seem to do anything. In fact, I noticed my Maxx's screen was darker than the Droid 4's in the store the other day, and I went into the Brightness settings and found Display Power Saver unchecked, so I checked it just to see what happened, and the screen got brighter. My brightness is always on Auto. Unchecking it had no effect. Since then I've been able to detect no difference with it checked or unchecked.

You can't answer it but it rings and rings etc. My question is what do you do if your phone is ringing but you can't answer it because of a broken display. This mainly comes from a safety question as if you were in a car, bicycle type of accident and your display was busted. Only damage was from the screen display of the phone. Not looking for answers of how to get the phone fixed and repaired.

Motorola Droid Razr :: Automatic Time Setting Is Way Off?
Feb 12, 2012There is a setting to enable the RAZR to automatically keep its time correct by syncing with a time server somewhere on the internet. When I checked the time on my RAZR against my PC, where I have a service that sets the time from an atomic clock, I found that the RAZR was off by more than 14 seconds. I disabled the option and instead installed an app called "ClockSync" that sets the correct time. Unfortunately, the automatic time update setting is required by Verizon in order to login to My Verizon Mobile, so I either give up checking my data and call usage or I give up accurate time. This is very annoying. Can we get Verizon to use a reliable time server instead of whatever they are using now?
