Motorola Droid 2 :: Screen Keyboard Can't Hit P, L, M, Or Delete?
Nov 7, 2011
strange issue with one phone. with the on screen keyboard I can't hit P, L, M, or Delete. It just hits the keys next to these keys. Hard reset twice. What's odd is that you can hit icons on the home screen in the same position as where these keys are.
I have read several posts and tried things. My touchscreen keyboard on year old motorola droid 1 works completely when horizontal but when vertical the 'delete key' and the 'L' key respond as the ones next to it. i have tried safe mode start, took battery out, etc.
my droid 2 screen will not come on anymore. Keyboard lights up when on but no screen. is there anything that I can do. I have tried everything available in other forums such as taking out the battery and waiting 60 seconds.
My droid definitely had an issue with the slider mechanism. It became extremely loose and would open up in my pocket all the time. Also, there was a huge gap between the slider and the keyboard. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?
When I slide my keyboard out, my screen instantly scrambles. It is a pitch or catch as to whether or not the screen corrects itself when the keyboard is then closed. If it does not correct itself, and turning the screen off does not resolve the scramble, I have to pop the battery.
I'm the proud owner of a Droid 3 for the past year+Never had any problem with itIt was never touched by water, nor suffered a serious fall.lately whenever i pull the keyboard out, screen's brightness goes crazy. (when keyboard folded it works fine!)I can still see the screen but the brightness levels themselves flicker very fast between working / not working. in the end most of the times brightness remains not working, and in order to see the screen visibly i need to close the keyboard.sometimes though after some flickering brightness settles at its working state. ried rebooting, changing all sorts of brightness settings etc, nothing solved it
just down loaded the new update, all is good except- there is now a problem. While placing an outgoing call the screen/keyboard fails illuminate. There's no way to end or stop any phone calls. The screen will reactivate once the other person ends their call. Also does the same thing calling voice mail, etc.... no screen available to enter security codes
I picked up my phone as I usually do, slid open the keyboard, typed out a text message, and then attempted to press the send button with my finger. For some reason, my touch didn't register and I had to manually select the send button by using the keyboard. I thought it was a glitch, however I am not able to select anything using the touch screen with the keyboard open. For example, if I press the lock button and attempt to unlock my phone with the touchscreen while the keyboard is open, I get no response. Also, if the keyboard is open and I try to open an app or perform any function using the touch screen, I recieve no response. However, the touch screen performs perfectly fine with the keyboard close. The main reason I got the Droid 2 was because of the physical keyboard paired with the touchscreen so I would like to fix this problem as soon as possible.
If you are texting with the keyboard open, autocompletions come up on the bottom of your screen. If you then hit "home" or "back" a few times, you will be at the home screen. But, if your keyboard is still open, the auto suggestions are still there!Even more annoying, if you actually click on them, they will go back into your texting program that isn't even on the screen. The next time you go in there, additional words may be in the input box.To get rid of it, opening the browser and hitting back seems to work, sometimes. Closing the keyboard also gets rid of it...but it will come right back if you open the keyboard again.
My droid 2 has decided to start acting quite funky.it will freeze, the keyboard stops working mid-text/email then goes back to the home screen like that text/email draft never existed. I also am having trouble answering calls. When a call comes in, i touch answer but there is no response.
For some reason, I have 2 constant issues with my razr. My keyboard force closes constantly. And I get frequent homescreen bugs where the apps are not perfectly aligned.
Does anyone know if there is a way to delete email from my server when I delete it from my Droid 3? I had a Blackberry Tour before and there was a setting that allowed me to delete it from the server at the same time that I deleted it from the phone. It saved a lot of time.I can't seem to find a setting on the Droid 3 that will do that
Ok before everyone telld me there isnt one without a keyboard and im crazy.I bought my milestone from pacific mall and the guy who sold it to me...had a Droid without the keyboard. I am not lying, i got to play around with it and everythingg it was awesomee..question is to you guys..what model is that? Because i am interested in it and looking for a slimmer moto phone.
I recently upgraded from the D1 to the D4 and have my Hotmail account set up via Corporate Sync. Incoming messages sync correctly but messages I delete on the phone do not delete from the server. On the D1 the two-way sync worked correctly for emails deleted on the phone but I can't seem to get it to work on the D4.My settings for the corporate sync account are:Username: full @hotmail email addressPassword: passwordServer: m.hotmail.comUse secure connection: yesProxy: blankAnyone else having this problem? Is there a fix?
when I am using the qwerty keyboard (not touch screen) it is either not responding when I press a letter, or after several presses, when it does eventually respond, it displays a letter or character different from what I am pressing. Its basically to the point where my keyboard is useless. I have to hit the same key at least 5 times before it shows anything. It will sometimes skip letters that I'm typing and just display the next character. for example, I can be typing SLOWLY, hitting one at a time, spelling t-e-x-t and it will show up e-t, or something along those lines. Ill backspace to go back to the beginning to add in the missing letter and Ill hit T over and over and over till it eventually shows up, or some random character will show up.
Me and my wife both have the MAXX. My wife has recently experienced a bug with the stock Keyboard where it will phase in on top of her screen with out the keys (No letters) for no reason. She noticed it a few weeks ago and because it only happened once or twice thought nothing of it. Recently it has gotten progressively worse and seems to act up the most when her phone is in the Dock(Desk Top). She has not DL any Keyboard APs or any none market APs.
so I've been waiting for an update to the update to fix all the little quirks i have had since the GB update....but this just started about a week ago and i cant wait for a general fix.....when i type in a txt or on a web page the keyboard shuts off.....it seems to happen when i finish a word and hit the space bar to move on.....i thought it had some thing to do with the auto guess of the next word but i don't know how to turn it off to check it out.....i have restarted the phone.....i removed apps that updated since the problem started......tried may things short of a factory reset.......
Is there a list of keyboard shortcuts for the Droid 4?In my Droid 1 browser there are go to homepage, open search dialog, reload page, go back/forward in history, go to top/end of page, show bookmarks, show preferences, create new window, close current window, activate text selection, etc.
Looked thru the archives and couldn't find this topic. My DROID X started locking up last night when I was doing an email. It's locked up several times today, too. I've been trying to see a pattern to it. Email or text messaging, it's when I hit one of the punctuation keys. Either the period, question, or exclamation mark, each time. I've not put any new apps on my phone since Wednesday. Anyone else have this happen? Suggestions on how to stop it or fix it? Only way I could get out of it was to power it off, but this last time, I had to pull the battery as it wouldn't even power off.
It mostly happens when I'm trying to text, but my keyboard just stops typing. The keys light up as if you are typing, but no letters come up! Only started happening since the update.
I received my ICS update today, and I can not get the onscreen keyboard to come up at all.BTW, I can't get ANY keyboard to come up! I downloaded one or 2 others, and they will not come up either.
There's a notification that pops up whenever the keyboard is open. Selecting it lets me switch input methods. Has anybody found a way to make this notification go away for good?
I have two Droid Pros. Overall I'm relatively happy with the phone minus a couple nagging problems. I have noticed some of them being fixed with the two updates I've experienced. The single most annoything aspect of this phone, however, seems to have gone uncorrected, yet it's a simple fix. The fact that the keyboard is too close to the soft keys. When typing an email or text, it's not uncommon for my thumb or finger to accidentally it one of the soft keys (such as the home key). Obviously, at that point it immediately jumps to the home screen. Thankfully my message isn't lost. However, why not merely add a verifcation dialog if any of those keys are hit during a keyboard input operation? This seems like a very obvious and simple fix...and I know there are lots of compaints about this keyboard on Android forums, etc.
