my droid 2 screen will not come on anymore. Keyboard lights up when on but no screen. is there anything that I can do. I have tried everything available in other forums such as taking out the battery and waiting 60 seconds.
View 2 RepliesWhen the screen is locked and off and I receive a text message, the screen briefly lights up before going dark, playing the notification sound and lighting up the LED. I believe this is only happening since the JB upgrade, but I only had the phone a little over a week before the upgrade so I may not have noticed it.

My droid definitely had an issue with the slider mechanism. It became extremely loose and would open up in my pocket all the time. Also, there was a huge gap between the slider and the keyboard. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue?
View 2 Replies View Relatedstrange issue with one phone. with the on screen keyboard I can't hit P, L, M, or Delete. It just hits the keys next to these keys. Hard reset twice. What's odd is that you can hit icons on the home screen in the same position as where these keys are.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I slide my keyboard out, my screen instantly scrambles. It is a pitch or catch as to whether or not the screen corrects itself when the keyboard is then closed. If it does not correct itself, and turning the screen off does not resolve the scramble, I have to pop the battery.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm the proud owner of a Droid 3 for the past year+Never had any problem with itIt was never touched by water, nor suffered a serious fall.lately whenever i pull the keyboard out, screen's brightness goes crazy. (when keyboard folded it works fine!)I can still see the screen but the brightness levels themselves flicker very fast between working / not working. in the end most of the times brightness remains not working, and in order to see the screen visibly i need to close the keyboard.sometimes though after some flickering brightness settles at its working state. ried rebooting, changing all sorts of brightness settings etc, nothing solved it
View 4 Replies View Relatedjust down loaded the new update, all is good except- there is now a problem. While placing an outgoing call the screen/keyboard fails illuminate. There's no way to end or stop any phone calls. The screen will reactivate once the other person ends their call. Also does the same thing calling voice mail, etc.... no screen available to enter security codes
View 2 Replies View RelatedI picked up my phone as I usually do, slid open the keyboard, typed out a text message, and then attempted to press the send button with my finger. For some reason, my touch didn't register and I had to manually select the send button by using the keyboard. I thought it was a glitch, however I am not able to select anything using the touch screen with the keyboard open. For example, if I press the lock button and attempt to unlock my phone with the touchscreen while the keyboard is open, I get no response. Also, if the keyboard is open and I try to open an app or perform any function using the touch screen, I recieve no response. However, the touch screen performs perfectly fine with the keyboard close. The main reason I got the Droid 2 was because of the physical keyboard paired with the touchscreen so I would like to fix this problem as soon as possible.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIf you are texting with the keyboard open, autocompletions come up on the bottom of your screen.If you then hit "home" or "back" a few times, you will be at the home screen. But, if your keyboard is still open, the auto suggestions are still there!Even more annoying, if you actually click on them, they will go back into your texting program that isn't even on the screen. The next time you go in there, additional words may be in the input box.To get rid of it, opening the browser and hitting back seems to work, sometimes. Closing the keyboard also gets rid of it...but it will come right back if you open the keyboard again.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy phone connects to my Bluetooth fine and I can make an outgoing call. When I hang up and then try to make another call, for some reason the audio of the phone is not going through my car stereo for the second call so I switch the phone over to speaker phone using the speaker phone button on the phone. While on speaker phone I notice that the Bluetooth is still locked onto my stereo but I can still have a normal phone call through the speaker phone on my phone. After I am done with my call I try to wake the screen by pressing the power button and the phone does not respond BUT my call is still connected so I know the phone has not locked up or crashed since I can still talk to the other person on the other line. In order to get the screen to come back on I have to do a hard reboot by pressing the power button and volume keys.
I tried making a few more calls after it rebooted but this time I turned off Bluetooth prior to making the calls. I was able to make 3 other calls with no problems and the screen woke up each time I pressed the power button. I should also note that my WiFi is still on but not connected to any networks during that time and also my GPS antenna is on but not being used.
I know the phone is charged, when I plug it in though not even the charging screen comes on. The phone itself will not turn on at all. The only thing it will do is have the green notification light when plugged into my computer, but still no screen or phone power.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes I use headphones while in noisy locations in order to hear calls better, but I still have to hold the phone up to talk into it. I noticed that something kept beeping, and figured out that the screen does not blank when against my head as it does without the headphones in place.
Is there a way to change that behavior, or do I just need to retrain myself to hold the phone differently when using headphones?
I am having a problem with all of the hard buttons turning my screen on. With Froyo, only the power button and home button would turn the screen on. Now any of the buttons can activate the screen making it too easy for the screen to come on, running my battery down.

From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.

My problem is that I carry my phone in my front pocket and sometimes when the alarm notice goes off, I take the phone out of my pocket and the window to turn off the alarm is no longer there. Taking the phone out of my pocket somehow removed the alarm window. I can't figure out how to turn off the alarm except to turn completely turn the whole phone off then turn it back on again (which takes a long time because it has to go through the whole boot process.
Does anyone know how to turn of a scheduled alarm when the alarm window is no longer on the screen?
When I hit the power button on the phone to make it sleep, there seems to be a very small chance that the screen will shut off, then immediately(within a second) turn back on.It could be placebo but I think having music playing makes it happen more often.

My wife's phone has an interesting "feature?" which I haven't been able to figure how to turn off. When she has an unread email (either GMAIL or or local internet provider mail) periodicaly when the screen is locked and off the screen will turn on for a second and then turn off like a reminder notification. Obviously a battery killer. I've looked through all the reminder features including the add-on we use "Light Flow Lite" which we use for missed calls and cannot find where to turn this off.

View 1 Replies View Relatedsince installing .411 my Bold hasn't had a single problem, apart from one. Every now and again, I will notice it light up, the screen and keyboard both turn on. After a couple of seconds, it will dim out as it would after use.
I have a windows mobile phone and before I receive a text message, that is exactly what that does, but I receive nothing when the Bold lights up? The only fix I have is to put it into bedside mode as it doesn't seem to happen when in that state....

This dosent happen every time but at least once or twice a day. The power button will turn screen on and off but the screen is totally unresponsive to my inputs. I have tried factory resting it to no avail.
