I have read several posts and tried things. My touchscreen keyboard on year old motorola droid 1 works completely when horizontal but when vertical the 'delete key' and the 'L' key respond as the ones next to it. i have tried safe mode start, took battery out,etc.
View 9 RepliesI picked up my phone as I usually do, slid open the keyboard, typed out a text message, and then attempted to press the send button with my finger. For some reason, my touch didn't register and I had to manually select the send button by using the keyboard. I thought it was a glitch, however I am not able to select anything using the touch screen with the keyboard open. For example, if I press the lock button and attempt to unlock my phone with the touchscreen while the keyboard is open, I get no response. Also, if the keyboard is open and I try to open an app or perform any function using the touch screen, I recieve no response. However, the touch screen performs perfectly fine with the keyboard close. The main reason I got the Droid 2 was because of the physical keyboard paired with the touchscreen so I would like to fix this problem as soon as possible.
View 7 Replies View Relatedstrange issue with one phone. with the on screen keyboard I can't hit P, L, M, or Delete. It just hits the keys next to these keys. Hard reset twice. What's odd is that you can hit icons on the home screen in the same position as where these keys are.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI, until about two weeks ago, was using the mult-touch keyboard option and it was working fine. About a week ago, anytime I would type something and hit the space bar, the zoomed in window for texting would zoom back out to the window that appears below (stock Motorola text software). I tried it again and the same thing happened. Everytime I use the space bar in multi-touch, it would exit out of the text editing and show my text below in the skinny rectangular "viewing" bar. I also tried this in Gmail. The exact same thing happens. I am using Swype, which I would rather not use, but would like to know if this is fixable without doing a factory reset. Doing a factory reset is far too painful with having to download all the apps I once had and having to start over in certain games because it erases any progress, etc. If the only option is to factory reset, then so be it. That needs to be a last resort though.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe last time the display functioned I was starting a play-list for my shower. I adjusted the volume once or twice without lighting the screen, and after drying off stopped the music by removing the speaker jack again without lighting the screen. The device then went into my shirt pocket and I ate dinner then watched a movie but when I tried to do a little surfing before bed the screen wouldn't light up. I had seen it light up the buttons but take a few seconds for the display when the CPU was busy so I waited, nothing happened. I pulled the battery and tried again, nothing on the screen. But then I discovered that the touch sensor was still functioning, I could swipe to unlock and power down in the standard fashion just blind. I have examined the water stickers they are both white with bright red X's.
While writing this question (I am sure many of you already know this fact) I discovered that the display of my device is in fact three distinct functional parts. The capacitive touch screen still in operation on my device, the LCD image generator also still in operation, and the Led illumination source which for lack of a more accurate description is burned out.So my question is how could this occur, is it software or hardware, and what are my recourses?
When I'm listening to voicemail on the Rumor Touch, is it possible to delete a message without having to open up the hardware keyboard to press '7?'

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo there I was saving an alien world by killing one jelly at a time when my screen completely quit responding to touch. First thought was my Razr just had its first freeze/reboot but the sound was still going and the jellies still marching toward my precious gems. Instantly realized my Razr was ignoring me. Tried my side keys and they worked as usual, sound keys toggled sound up and down and lock key locked/opened power menu but was unable to select any options as the touch sense was still out to lunch. It's been almost a half hour and the screen is stuck on the lock screen and won't even dim. Which coincidentally is a good thing b/c it's way to much work to pull the battery on these things .
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I slide my keyboard out, my screen instantly scrambles. It is a pitch or catch as to whether or not the screen corrects itself when the keyboard is then closed. If it does not correct itself, and turning the screen off does not resolve the scramble, I have to pop the battery.

(when keyboard folded it works fine!)I can still see the screen but the brightness levels themselves flicker very fast between working / not working. in the end most of the times brightness remains not working, and in order to see the screen visibly i need to close the keyboard.sometimes though after some flickering brightness settles at its working state. ried rebooting, changing all sorts of brightness settings etc, nothing solved it
View 4 Replies View RelatedMotorola Droid Turbo (v. 1) Ballistic - I have a dead spot on the upper left hand corner of the screen, annoyingly right where a menu or "back" navigation button usually is in an app. I have confirmed this one spot is dead to the touch with a screen tester. When I turn my phone off and back on, it reactivates the spot for a time, then eventually it goes dead again. This phone is less than 2 weeks old...I just got my settings just the way I like them.

I cannot click the phone dialer, SMS, camera or app icons. Anything above this first row still works fine. I did a factory reset on the phone and still no luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI ordered a new Razr and noticed black spots and a perfectly straight black line on the screen when the screen is a certain shade of black. I noticed the spots while watching netflix and after taking a picture. I contacted VZW about it and they werent aware of any issues. I was concerned since I paid a lot for the phone I expect it to be better than that. So VZW sent me another new one without a problem. The second one had the same problem but more noticable. Also with both phones the screen would get really hot almost too hot to touch.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe following has been happening since before the latest update, and continued after.My phone will randomly reboot itself (there doesn't seem to be any correlation with what I'm doing) and then hang at the rotating red logo.If I push the power button the display will turn off, but after that no buttons have any effects.If I plug the phone in the display comes back on to the unlock screen, but the touch screen is also unresponsive.The phone is definitely still running though, as my bluetooth headset will reconnect and time-based notifications will still happen (I have the phone set to beep every half hour).If I leave the phone sitting for a significant length of time I will notice it getting warm, and it will eventually reboot again and behave normally.Battery pull does nothing.Wiping the cache partition does nothing.I've done a factory reset before, and this makes the problem go away for a while, but it comes back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden today my notification bar... or rather that top portion of the touch screen has gone mad.When Im on a vertical screen... the notification keeps trying to pull down.When it is a horizontal screen, whatever icon, or keys if its the full screen keyboard, just start typing away like crazy.I had it on landscape texting onscreen..... it typed out wqasdddddwwedaaad. So it must be something "stuck" on that portion of the touch screen.How do I fix this.I dont have any new installed apps in the past week. I had very few issues when I got the gingerbread update, and they all smoothed out. The only thing recent was 5 days ago I changed from a 8gb microsd to a 16gb, but I doubt that would have any impact on touch screen function.

I thought that was a stock part of gingerbread. Has anyone else noticed or is it somehow missing from my phone? I have full animation on.
View 5 Replies View Relatedjust down loaded the new update, all is good except- there is now a problem. While placing an outgoing call the screen/keyboard fails illuminate. There's no way to end or stop any phone calls. The screen will reactivate once the other person ends their call. Also does the same thing calling voice mail, etc.... no screen available to enter security codes
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf you are texting with the keyboard open, autocompletions come up on the bottom of your screen.If you then hit "home" or "back" a few times, you will be at the home screen. But, if your keyboard is still open, the auto suggestions are still there!Even more annoying, if you actually click on them, they will go back into your texting program that isn't even on the screen. The next time you go in there, additional words may be in the input box.To get rid of it, opening the browser and hitting back seems to work, sometimes. Closing the keyboard also gets rid of it...but it will come right back if you open the keyboard again.

When in sound setting there are check marks next to audible touch tones when using dial pad, audible selection when making screen selections, and screen lock sounds, but I don't get any sounds. Sounds work great for everything else. Volume is up.
