I've had this problem since i got the phone.When it's on the charger, and i need to use it, the touch screen will be very uneven in its responsiveness... Sometimes it will read my gestures and taps, sometimes not.
View 7 RepliesWhen I connect my phone to a wall charger (provided my Motorola), the touch screen responds rarely (slowly). As soon you disconnect the charger it works fine. I had talked to Motorola specialist over the phone and she provided me with a new charger. However, the problem still persists.
Yesterday, I used a Blackberry charger (with very close voltage and current output) and the phone worked fine.
The last time the display functioned I was starting a play-list for my shower. I adjusted the volume once or twice without lighting the screen, and after drying off stopped the music by removing the speaker jack again without lighting the screen. The device then went into my shirt pocket and I ate dinner then watched a movie but when I tried to do a little surfing before bed the screen wouldn't light up. I had seen it light up the buttons but take a few seconds for the display when the CPU was busy so I waited, nothing happened. I pulled the battery and tried again, nothing on the screen. But then I discovered that the touch sensor was still functioning, I could swipe to unlock and power down in the standard fashion just blind. I have examined the water stickers they are both white with bright red X's.
While writing this question (I am sure many of you already know this fact) I discovered that the display of my device is in fact three distinct functional parts. The capacitive touch screen still in operation on my device, the LCD image generator also still in operation, and the Led illumination source which for lack of a more accurate description is burned out.So my question is how could this occur, is it software or hardware, and what are my recourses?
So there I was saving an alien world by killing one jelly at a time when my screen completely quit responding to touch. First thought was my Razr just had its first freeze/reboot but the sound was still going and the jellies still marching toward my precious gems. Instantly realized my Razr was ignoring me. Tried my side keys and they worked as usual, sound keys toggled sound up and down and lock key locked/opened power menu but was unable to select any options as the touch sense was still out to lunch. It's been almost a half hour and the screen is stuck on the lock screen and won't even dim. Which coincidentally is a good thing b/c it's way to much work to pull the battery on these things .

View 9 Replies View RelatedSince the rollout of 4.0.4 I have had the same issue on both my D4 and RAZRM. When the phone is rebooted, the "Stay Awake" under Developer Options is reset to "on" (box is ticked by default). this is NOT the correct default setting.I thought the issue is related to SystemPanel and perhaps its monitoring function, but anfter uninstall, the problem persisted.I can't figure out which app is causing this, so I thought I would mention the problem again on this Forum in case anyone has had a similar experience, and knows what app/process might be over riding the default settings.I will say it is less of an issue with the RAZRM as I have not had a forced shutdown/reboot since I got the device (D4 reboots were a daily issue).

(although i forget what that combonation was now, since I haven't used it in a while.)Is there a similar key sequence i can press to boot from the charging screen (battery icon in the middle of the screen) with my Droid 4?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMotorola Droid Turbo (v. 1) Ballistic - I have a dead spot on the upper left hand corner of the screen, annoyingly right where a menu or "back" navigation button usually is in an app. I have confirmed this one spot is dead to the touch with a screen tester. When I turn my phone off and back on, it reactivates the spot for a time, then eventually it goes dead again. This phone is less than 2 weeks old...I just got my settings just the way I like them.

I cannot click the phone dialer, SMS, camera or app icons. Anything above this first row still works fine. I did a factory reset on the phone and still no luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI picked up my phone as I usually do, slid open the keyboard, typed out a text message, and then attempted to press the send button with my finger. For some reason, my touch didn't register and I had to manually select the send button by using the keyboard. I thought it was a glitch, however I am not able to select anything using the touch screen with the keyboard open. For example, if I press the lock button and attempt to unlock my phone with the touchscreen while the keyboard is open, I get no response. Also, if the keyboard is open and I try to open an app or perform any function using the touch screen, I recieve no response. However, the touch screen performs perfectly fine with the keyboard close. The main reason I got the Droid 2 was because of the physical keyboard paired with the touchscreen so I would like to fix this problem as soon as possible.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI ordered a new Razr and noticed black spots and a perfectly straight black line on the screen when the screen is a certain shade of black. I noticed the spots while watching netflix and after taking a picture. I contacted VZW about it and they werent aware of any issues. I was concerned since I paid a lot for the phone I expect it to be better than that. So VZW sent me another new one without a problem. The second one had the same problem but more noticable. Also with both phones the screen would get really hot almost too hot to touch.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe following has been happening since before the latest update, and continued after.My phone will randomly reboot itself (there doesn't seem to be any correlation with what I'm doing) and then hang at the rotating red logo.If I push the power button the display will turn off, but after that no buttons have any effects.If I plug the phone in the display comes back on to the unlock screen, but the touch screen is also unresponsive.The phone is definitely still running though, as my bluetooth headset will reconnect and time-based notifications will still happen (I have the phone set to beep every half hour).If I leave the phone sitting for a significant length of time I will notice it getting warm, and it will eventually reboot again and behave normally.Battery pull does nothing.Wiping the cache partition does nothing.I've done a factory reset before, and this makes the problem go away for a while, but it comes back.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden today my notification bar... or rather that top portion of the touch screen has gone mad.When Im on a vertical screen... the notification keeps trying to pull down.When it is a horizontal screen, whatever icon, or keys if its the full screen keyboard, just start typing away like crazy.I had it on landscape texting onscreen..... it typed out wqasdddddwwedaaad. So it must be something "stuck" on that portion of the touch screen.How do I fix this.I dont have any new installed apps in the past week. I had very few issues when I got the gingerbread update, and they all smoothed out. The only thing recent was 5 days ago I changed from a 8gb microsd to a 16gb, but I doubt that would have any impact on touch screen function.

I'm at work posting on the bionic so making this short. I let my phone charge over night with oem wall charger i unplug it to go to the gym. Well i usually turn the lights on in my room. This morning i did not as i unplugged the bionic the backlight light up dimly. I let it sit i finally got tired of testing it the backlight stayed on indefinitely. I let it sit 5 min still on i have to push power button to wake and again to lock. So i was wondering if anyone noticed this it can drain battery i sometimes put phone in gym bag after charging without waking phone.

I took it into the Verizon store and they told me I was covered under the warranty but that I wouldn't be able to recover my data because I have a password on my phone. When in sound setting there are check marks next to audible touch tones when using dial pad, audible selection when making screen selections, and screen lock sounds, but I don't get any sounds. Sounds work great for everything else. Volume is up.

I was a M7 user for almost two years and I have never experienced that problem with it (even tried the same chargers on the M7, no problem) and it's quite annoying, to be honest. Although I appreciate the bigger battery and how it lasts longer, I like to use it at night while it's still charging (between the 40 - 70% range) and I find that while it is plugged in, the touch-screen is extremely laggy. It is very noticeable when swiping (it just randomly opens an app), when typing (it keeps opening recent apps), and of course when trying to play a game (it's just completely horrendous). The phone goes back to normal as soon as I plug the charger out.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI took a video today indoors with bright natural light and noticed for the first time that the picture was a little unstable and tended to jump every few seconds. I hadn't noticed it before because it's very quick - blink and you'll miss it - but sure enough I saw it in a video I took a week ago as well (also indoors but not as bright and it seemed less jumpy).
Anyone notice the jerkiness as well? I wonder if it's a hardware or software issue.

I had connected my phone to the charger and tried to use the touch screen, it didnt work to my surprise. I tried to use the hardware buttons, they seemed to be working but all that in vain because when i tried to switch off the phone, i couldn't...!! Because the final screen to confirm the switch off of the phone is a touch command. This is not expected to happen on a device that i paid so much for...
I think there is some problem with the gravity sensor when connecting to the charger, i have seen this only when i connect my phone for charging and when the phone is in a position where the screen is facing the floor tilted towards the right. I have seen this problem 3 times, and would not like to see it happen again.

Dosent go away until I reboot the phone, any ideas? When it is fully charged the green led even stays lit. Dosent do it all the time just enough to be annoying. I really dont want to trade my phone for a reconditioned one since it is only three weeks old.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have had my Motorola Droid for about 3 months now, bought it new from an overstock dealer on ebay, sealed box and clean MEID.
The phone has been working PERFECTLY up until now, where now the touch screen suddenly does not respond at all. I can see the phone is working fine; the keyboard works, volume and power button works, I can see all the icons running, the time changes, everything. Taking out the battery never works. I did a hard reset and had the touch screen working a few times, but it's really hit or miss. It eventually reverts back to not working.
Again as I said, I have tried hard resets, safe mode, taking the battery out and letting it sit, took the SD card out, formatted the SD card, everything.
This all seems highly unusual, I have craddled this thing since i've gotten it to be sure I do not damage it. It is in pristine condition in every respect. I have no way to replace it since I am with an independent phone company.
So, how do we use the new keyboard features?

I have the usb port set for charging only but it doesn't seem to be charging the battery. Do I need a usb hub with higher output current? I've used low power chargers and they take longer but seem to work fine.
