I have the Droid X dock plugged into a Belkin 7 port usb hub that puts out .5A/per port. I have the usb port set for charging only but it doesn't seem to be charging the battery. Do I need a usb hub with higher output current? I've used low power chargers and they take longer but seem to work fine.
View 4 RepliesI just updated last week to Gingerbread but this was happening before that. I plug my phone into my factory charger and when I go to unplug it it says it is still charging. Dosent go away until I reboot the phone, any ideas? When it is fully charged the green led even stays lit. Dosent do it all the time just enough to be annoying. I really dont want to trade my phone for a reconditioned one since it is only three weeks old.

View 7 Replies View Relatedso It seems my car dock isn't charging my phone. It was 90% when I left the house remained plugged in on the dock for an hour except for one phone call. I used Navigation for maybe 10 min and it was still at 90% when I got to work. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. still have to test to see if its the charging port in the car that i'm using or not. It might be but the only other one I have in the car I can't use and connect to the car dock because it's too far away
View 10 Replies View RelatedI often park my Droid X in it Motorola Car Dock when I am on a long drive (2 hours) and usually turn on maps, gps, and bluetooth. Battery indicator top right shows lighting bolt thru battery in upper right of home page every time I look and looking at the cigarette lighter end of the cord, I see the red light on. Starting the trip, I verify I am 100% charge but at the end of the trip, I am not fully charged. why am I dot fully charged if on car battery the full time? If I assume my cable is ok and it is really connected full time to the car source, is it possible the usage current can be more than the charge current thus resulting in a never fully charged phone at the end of the trip? Or is this simply an indicator of a bad or intermittent cable?
View 6 Replies View RelatedOver the last couple nights I've noticed that my Turbo won't charge overnight. I often read or play games before bed and it seems if I have a few apps open and then plug it in it won't charge. If I close all the apps down then I've never had a problem.
I've also noticed it freezing up at times and then rebooting by itself if I don't close open apps.
The phone is great and at this point I don't care about Lollipop. We've had 2 S5 go bad with Lollipop and until they get the bugs all worked out I'll keep munchin the kitkat.
My screen will not time out when charging.

When I plug the Multimedia dock into the PC and dock my phone it does not.I moved from the Droid1 to the Droid4 and have a dock from my Droid1 that works as it should. The new Multimedia dock for my Droid 4 will not charge the phone while docked unless I plug it into the dedicated charging plug. Doing this, I lose the ability to transfer data back and forth via USB.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe feature i miss the most from my droid 2 days is the little indicator light to know that the phone is charging... I realize that light was left off this phone and moved to the caps lock key. But wondering if there was a way of turning in the indicator light when the phone is charging like when i get a notification that i have a text message. My Wifes incredible 2 indiciator light turns red when it is charging and i beleive turns white when it is finished. Its just a lot easier for me to look at my phone and see it is charging vs having to unlock my phone to see if it is charging or see it on the lock screen. Sometimes my charges becomes unplugged and i was always quick to know with the droid 2 that it had happend. vs waking up the next morning with my droid 4 thinking it was charging and nothing all along. Is there a feature i'm missing or is it possible to have this in an upcoming update?

I had wifi enabled and my phone was down to 60% but after approximately 2 minutes, the phone would stop charging. I tried two other non-Motorola USB chargers, one (not made for cell phones) didn't work at all, the other had the same problem.
Wtiuh Wifi turned off, the phone charged normally.
I have a weird issue that keeps popping up. Occasionally, I pull the power from my phone and the battery indicator says that it is still charging. If I shut the phone down, it will boot right back up because it thinks the power is connected. It doesn't do this all the time but when it does, my battery goes into a serious drain. I also have noticed that once in awhile, when the phone comes out of nighttime power saving, 3G don't come back and the battery drains big time.

When the phone is rebooted, the "Stay Awake" under Developer Options is reset to "on" (box is ticked by default). this is NOT the correct default setting.I thought the issue is related to SystemPanel and perhaps its monitoring function, but anfter uninstall, the problem persisted.I can't figure out which app is causing this, so I thought I would mention the problem again on this Forum in case anyone has had a similar experience, and knows what app/process might be over riding the default settings.I will say it is less of an issue with the RAZRM as I have not had a forced shutdown/reboot since I got the device (D4 reboots were a daily issue).
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe thing that drives me nuts about this phone is that you can not see the usb charging port in a dark room. On many ocassion i have had to plug in my charger in the dark and i find myself always fumbling around for minutes to find the port. The thing that makes it even more frustrating is that there is already a LED there! It just doesn't turn on unless the battery is dead and the phone is plugged in. Motorla calls it a "sign-of-life" LED. What a waste of resources because most people who keep their phones charged will never see this LED light-up. Why didn't you guys make it toggle on with a long push on the lock button? Then you could easily see the ports? This seems like the most usefull and obvious thing to do with this LED.
Also what happened to the camera application? My wifes X2 takes amazing pictures wheras the Droid 3s turn out afwul. Can I use the droid X2 app on my D3? Besides these two gripes this is an amazing phone and I am very happy with it.
Regarding the LaptDock 100, when it is plugged into the wall my Razr will charge while plugged into the LapDock. If the LapDock is not plugged into the wall and running off the battery it will not charge my Razr phone, in fact my phone will lose a charge. When I had my Bionic the phone would charge off of the Bionic LapDock if the dock was plugged into the wall or not.

Phone is much more responsive overall and the Motoblur updates seem good as well. I am having one new problem though. Three times now I've unplugged my phone from the charger in the morning and it has been locked up. The green notification light is flashing so it's not totally dead. No combination of keys will wake it up though. Have to pull the battery to reset it (which is a pain with the Body Glove case).

However sometimes when I plug in the charger the status led blinks once but then the charging screen does not start and charging does not start - I have noticed that if I then press the power on button the charging screen starts up and charging commences. More recently the Car Dock app will exit after starting. On that issue I've checked and it is not on the auto end list and will remain on when it connects to the car's bluetooth system.

Despite checking off this choice the screen shuts off after 10 minutes of inactivity while charging. How can I keep the screen on? I don't want it to sleep until/unless I do it manually.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to the Droid 3 a few days ago and I am so far pretty happy the only issue that I am having is that my car dock screen only pops up if the vehicle mount is connect to a charger and it is plugged into to the power. If I unplug it the regular home screen pops up. I am using a Motorola Droid 3 vehicle mount and a vehicle charger that came with my Droid to media package. It also happens with my daughter's Droid 3, so I don't know if the phones have an issue or the vehicle mount has an issue.
