BB Curve :: Trackpad Freezing After Trackpad Replaced?
Sep 28, 2011I have a Curve 9300 with OS 6. I cannot return the device to the original retailer (out of warranty).This is kind of what happens.
1.)Trackpad stops scrolling after backlight switches back on. After waiting 10 seconds it works ok
2.) After an hour or so the trackpad stops scrolling entirely. The "push button" of trackpad still works though.
3.) I hard reset the device. Trackpad stops working entirely (doesnt scroll and pushing it as a button does not work either)
4.) I send phone in for repairs.
5.) If it works after "cleaning and reseating trackpad" my phone works fine for a few days. Then problem starts all over again.
6.)If cleaning does not work, they replace my trackpad. This usually works for a few weeks to a month. Then the problem starts all over again?I am getting sick of having the phone getting sent in for the trackpad to just be replaced again and again.
BB Curve :: My Trackpad Won't Scroll
Jul 1, 2012A few weeks ago I was on my phone and it was dying, I went to get the charger but it had already died. I plugged it in and turned it on but the scroller wouldn't move. It would click but no matter what I tried it wouldn't move. I looked it up and it said it needed to be wiped, so stupidly I wiped my phone. But still, nothing. It would just click. Now, it's stuck on terms and conditions and non-usable. I've had to use my old blackberry which is falling apart I tried looking again online to see if there was any other solutions and I came across one saying that the software needed to be update.

Jan 31, 2012basically my trackpad wont scroll down. I have had this problem even when the blackberry was new. I dropped my blackberry in water but there was no damage to it, but now when I explain it to my network provider they think it's because of the water damage. I haven't got a warranty on it, so water damage isn't covered. They said for me to do a software update. I tried it and still no luck.

Sep 24, 2012Have had the same problem on some of our Curves with the 7.1 update. They can't scroll through text message/message conversations using the trackpad. With the 9360s its fine as if we downgrade to 7.0 the problem doesn't happen, but the 9320s come with 7.1 so there isn't an option to downgrade.

Jun 5, 2012The trackpad on my curve 9300 keeps breaking. I cannot click or scroll at all. Normally, it's not too bad with a few attempts of taking the battery out then putting it back in, but last night, the screen went white - again - so I took the battery out and it said I had no battery though I had at least 40% on there. When I put the battery back in, and the phone began loading, the menu thing came up. I tried to click, 'unlock' and nothing happened. Seconds later, the screen went black as if the phone doesn't recognize my trackpad anymore. I am sick and tired of having a phone that doesn't work! I wouldn't be as mad if it was the first time, but the thing is, it's happened before and every time I go to the phone shop, they say 'oh, it's not our fault, we'll send it off for repair' and when I eventually get it back (2 weeks later) it works for 4 weeks, and I send it off again. I have sent the [hone of 4 times for 'repair' and each time, it takes 2 weeks; that's 8 weeks, or 2 months that I still have to pay 25 pounds in my contract for a phone that doesn't even work. That's 50 pounds wasted on the worst phone available. I got my current phone back in September (after fighting with my phone provider) and it broke in February.

I can just about navigate through my messages as I can click on things with the trackpad & thank god for keyboard shortcuts ! I found a post saying that I had to tighten the TX screw or something of the sort but I'm worried I'll do something and then it'll no longer be under guarantee.

I give up now, I have tried all sorts and this was a gift for my birthday a month ago, I'm quite disappointed as this was my first blackberry and I don't think I'll be buying another one.

Jul 15, 2011ivehad my curve 8520 for a while now, and a couple months ago the trackpad froze for a couple minutes... I didn't think anything of it because it started working again... That's continued happening, getting more and more frequent and now sometimes I have to restart my phone two or three times for it to work... Everything else on my phone works even when the trackpad is frozen I just have to find another way to get to whatevr it is that I am trying to do. I can't scroll up or down or side to side but I have found out a way to munipulate my way through options and different menus and hotkeys..

My phone is v4.6.1.314 if that makes a difference.

Aug 24, 2010I just got my Blackberry a few days ago, and noticed that the trackpad is not working very well. It seems to either freeze intermittently, or not pick up the movement of my thumb. Either way, it's not working right.It's extremely frustrating when you just want to scroll over and choose an option but the thing won't work!Has anyone else had this happen to them with the new trackpad? Does anyone know of a solution, or should I return the phone for a new one?

Sep 23, 2012I encountered this problem a long time ago but it just recently became very disruptive.(first off, my phone is a BlackBerry Curve 8530)It appears that a bug causes the trackpad to stop scrolling past a particular area for whatever reason.Some time ago, I encountered this problem in my iheartradio app. I was unable to scroll through all of the genres to get to the one I wanted. I can't remember which, but for all intents and purposes, let's say there were 20 genres. I could scroll down through genres 1-15 but I could not scroll any further in order to get to 16-20. I never figured out why it did that, but the problem was "resolved" after I updated the app (because of the interface change). The problem went away becauses the list of genres were oriented in a very different manner.
Now, I have encountered this problem in the App World app.I was bored and started playing in App World and came across "iSpeech Translator" (which is No. 25 in the "Top Free" category). When it was installing, I hit the back button to go back to the "Top Free" list (did this cause the problem?) and now it appears that my phone became "stuck" at No. 25....in ALL categories. Top Free, Top Paid, New Arrivals, Top Rated....in all of them, I cannot scroll past the 25th app....and it is incredibly frustrating. I can only scroll from 1 to 25...and no further.I've tried reinstalling App World, downgrading App World, and pulling the battery but nothing has worked so far. I was unable to find a reference to my specific problem through Google so I'm not sure what to do.

Mar 6, 2010I did an OS update from my computer and when that didn't work pushed a complete wipe and reinstall with JL_Cmder. That sorted out the WSOD issues however the trackpad will now only work as a push button and not to scroll. I sent it off to be looked at by my carrier and they said water damage but I'm 100% certain it's not having looked at the parts myself as well as having been ridiculously careful with it: basically just think they are trying to avoid a replace on warranty!

Feb 13, 2010Last night my phone froze. I took the battery out and reset it. I put the batter back in. It turns back on and does the security verifying and then shows the main screen. The issue is that i try to scroll through the applications and it does not respond. I cannot dial numbers or anything. It just stay on the main screen. When I pulled the batter I notice that there is a red line on the white part near the pickups on the battery.
