I needed to clear the IT policy from my BB Bold. I followed the instructions:
- backup
- wipe handheld
- replace policy.bin file
- restore
The phone works just fine. The policy appears to be gone, and I can set the security options as I want. However, when I start my Blackberry Desktop, I get an error saying "error reading policy file. Please contact your Administrator". Any idea what the issue is and how to correct it?

BB Curve :: 8900 How To Remove An IT Policy From Smartphone

Apr 9, 2010

I just purchased BB8900 Curve from someone who works at a company.I found out from my carrier that my device is IT Policy Enabled.For example, under Options>Status and typing BUYR - the voice and data usage showed IT Policy Enabled. Under Options>Security Optoions> General Settings, it displayed the IT Policy with the company name.I went to the blackberry website and found the following: How to remove an IT policy from a BlackBerry smartphone url...There are 3 options - 2 of which involve the company's IT department. I didn't want to wait for vendor's IT department, so I used the 3rd option and I removed it myself (I believe).When I type in BUYR under Options>Status, it shows the actual usage for voice and data (no IT Policy).So it appears to be removed.I have a data plan with the device but not a BES plan.My questions:

1. Has the IT Policy been removed from my device?

2. Is it possible for whatever reason for the vendor's company to issue a IT Policy to my device remotely because they do have its info - PIN/IMEI? I hate to think that they could control my device remotely or see my emails/data?

IPhone :: IOS And Account Lock-out Policy?

Mar 18, 2012

We have account lockout policy enabled on our AD. When a user's password expires and he changes it and not update his exchange account password on his iOS device his account will get locked out almost immediately -- as it should. Is there anyway around this that does not involve the user? What I basically want is when a user changes his account password and not update his password in iOS is to have iOS try to authenticate, fail and then prompt the user for the new credentials.That happens exactly with one big exception, iOS will not stop trying to authenticate which will cause the account to be locked. How many time does iOS tries to authenticate before giving up?Does iOS keeps trying even after it prompts the user for the new password?

Info:
iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1

Jun 9, 2010

I've read the other posts but couldn't disable the IT policy.It's probably because I couldn't use the CrackUtil. It just doesn't work.Maybe it's because of this "os" thing. What is os? How do I see if I have os 4.3 or better?In the "about" screen is written:v5.0.0.442 (platform 5.1.0.121) - does it mean that I don't have the right os? As you can see - I don't understand too much, but I do want to get rid from the annoying password.

Motorola Photon 4G :: 'Violation Of Security Policy' WiFi Or PPTP

Sep 5, 2011

This may or may not be related to wifi connectivity issues noted in other threads. Blackberry 8350i smartphones using the same wireless configuations operate without generating errors.The direct errors can be produced by either Photon smartphone: [code]" RSB1 Enforcing Default Security Policy.After being installed according to the Installation Documentation (refer to DO1 in the Baseline module),the Candidate Firewall Product must immediately enforce the Default Security Policy as defined below:Traffic Denied Inbound - The Candidate Firewall Product must drop or deny non-Remote Administration related access requests from public network clients directed to:

1. Private network hosts;

2. Service network hosts;

3. The Candidate Firewall Product itself...."

I have two wireless routers (different SSIDs and channels), a Netgear WPNT834 Rangemax 240 (IP4) and a Netgear WNDR4000 (IP4/IP6).When both are setup in AP configuration, both produce the "violation of security policy" errors.If the WNDR4000 is setup as a wireless router with IP4 setup and IP6 set as automatic the errors are produced as usual by the photons.If the IP6 in the WNDR4000 is disabled in wireless router configuation the errors stop.There seems to be no duplicate packets presented to the Motorla Mobilty R910 router.Maybe these "violation of security policy" packets are not created properly or duplicated by the photon's IP6 drivers when dealing with IP4 only wireless routers?Perhaps this is the source of the photons wireless instability noted by many others?Of course these packet problems would ideally be confirmed by others with even better equipment.
