I bought a BB 9800 Torch n it was locked and I managed to unlock the phone for calls, txt messages but BB messenger, Face Book, Twiter are not working the message appearing ( This application has been disabled by IT policy).

- backup
- wipe handheld
- replace policy.bin file
- restore
The phone works just fine. The policy appears to be gone, and I can set the security options as I want. However, when I start my Blackberry Desktop, I get an error saying "error reading policy file. Please contact your Administrator". Any idea what the issue is and how to correct it?

I have two wireless routers (different SSIDs and channels), a Netgear WPNT834 Rangemax 240 (IP4) and a Netgear WNDR4000 (IP4/IP6).When both are setup in AP configuration, both produce the "violation of security policy" errors.If the WNDR4000 is setup as a wireless router with IP4 setup and IP6 set as automatic the errors are produced as usual by the photons.If the IP6 in the WNDR4000 is disabled in wireless router configuation the errors stop.There seems to be no duplicate packets presented to the Motorla Mobilty R910 router.Maybe these "violation of security policy" packets are not created properly or duplicated by the photon's IP6 drivers when dealing with IP4 only wireless routers?Perhaps this is the source of the photons wireless instability noted by many others?Of course these packet problems would ideally be confirmed by others with even better equipment.
I like to keep wifi active all the time when at home. So, I set the wifi sleep policy to NEVER (advanced wifi option) but...when the screen goes dark, my wifi immediately disconnects. I confirmed this by pinging the ip address of my Droid x2 from a computer. When the screen is lit the wifi goes active and I get a reply to the pings. When the screen goes dark after the 30 sec screen timeout, the pings no longer work, and I am no longer connected via wifi or 3g. In fact, there is no data connection at all.
I even tried the other wifi sleep policy settings, but they don't seem to change a thing. Bottom line is when I am connected to wifi and the screen goes dark, I loose all data connectivity & loose the ability to receive gmail and Touchdown email notifications.
I just recevice the X2, upgraded from the Droid X. I used to have a Droid X and the "never" sleep policy option worked just perfectly. Why is it not working on the X2? I am running 2.3.4.
I have set my Wifi Sleep Policy to "Never", because i like to strem my music with DLNA App to my HiFi, and i'm also downloading with Torrent App some TV Shows.Music Streamin works fine with Original DLNA app from Atrix, but only until the Display turns off. Then it stoped everything.I also set DLNA to never sleep and i also tried Battery set to "Performace". It simply doesn't work.With Torrent app from the Market also the same problem. I tried several apps. After the display is turned off there are no transfers.I own also Samsung Galaxy Tablet. With this device i don't have any of these problems.The funny thing is that the original DLNA app from Atrix simply don't stream the music after the display turnes off.

When I open WiFi, the connection I am attempting to connect to shows Disabled. It connects right away when I hit connect. I have tried multiple times to forget/reconnect and nothing is working. I have Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. I have been reading forums and so for nothing is working.

I tried to download the latest software, but cannot do it without WiFi connection. I have restarted my phone, made sure the wifi was off, and reset the network settings, no luck.Â
ince I got 5.0, my phone's wifi is disabled after a reboot (either a proper shutdown/restart OR one of the many unexpected reboots I've experienced).. I have to go back into quick settings and turn Wifi back on, and everything's fine.

Sometimes, touching was not enabled when I tried to slide the menu page (with an menu icon) on certain apps and, slide menu page on the left of some websites or by tapping on the menu icon on those sites; I have had to tap the second time or so to make it responded.
Next, connecting Z3 with Wi-Fi sometimes took past a minute over till I opened Wi-Fi setting (where from there I can view Wi-Fi networks).
I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who have Xperia Z3 have the glitches mentioned above. Will Sony Mobile provides a more better system update than the current version 4.4.4 in near future?
My wifi connection stays open even if I disable it. It's annoying because it consumes my battery and I can't do nothing.Â

I just updated latest OS on my iPhone 3GS and now WiFi struggles to work correctly unless I disable Bluetooth. Even when I am near the WiFi access point. Never had issue before. Never had problems with signal strength or locking on to know WiFi access points before. Only just have issue after the last OS update.

At home I am pretty sure it does the same thing. This morning when I got to the office, I noticed it was telling me that I have a wifi available. Open it up and there was the known wifi I have been connected to before, all week. Odd though, it says disabled but when i click it to connect, it says obtaining ip but then does back to not connected and says disabled. So basically I cannot connect to the wifi and I am 110% positive I have the correct password since I have connected to it just yesterday. Also curious why it isn't just connecting automatically to a known wifi. I have checked and others are on it right now.

When I say "completely", I mean that there is no way I can turn it back on! When I go into the "Wi-Fi" or "Wi-Fi Setting" function in Settings, the "Wi-Fi" button is displayed in gray instead of solid black, so I can't even select it at all.

Android OS.I first tried USB tethering but my laptop had no internet access, so I instead tried setting up a portable wifi hotspot to see if that would work. My laptop recognised the network I had created and I joined it succesfully, but I had no internet access. (Note: When I used USB tethering another network was recognised by the laptop)
I checked my phone and the 3g icon which shows that mobile internet is enabled (the two little verticle arrows with 3g above them) were not visible, but when I disabled the wi-fi hotspot, the icon appeared again. I'm not sure whether this is normal but could it be that 3g is being disabled with the activation of hotspotting, or is it just hidden automatically when wi-fi hotspotting is disabled? I find sometimes that the 3g icon disapears for no reason in areas I previously have had good signal, and then when I try and connect it takes a few seconds and then the icon appears again and I can connect.
Wifi on Lollipop 5.0.2 takes to much time to connect. It used to connect fast in KK.
When connected to Wifi it shows connected whereas the the Mobile data sign does not disappear unless as quick. Only after the Mobile data signal is disabled after 10 secs the connection starts working.
I have a Lumia 710 (Rogers branded) with the latest updates. There appears to be no wifi hotspot options in the settings, I assume this has been disabled by Rogers.Is there anyway for me to get this enabled?

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy Torch is only 2 months old, a few days back all physical keys went dead, - all in the slideout keyboard and all 5 keys at the bottom of the screen and lock button. The scroll function of the middle key however is available at all times as well as function of the side buttons on the right of the touch screen.
Also, ever since that problem started, whenever i punch a text and stop in the middle/end of a word and try to scroll the cursor back, it wouldnt move, instead it starts changing the letter last before the cursor - i.e., makes it capital or replaces it with a symbol.
The problem used to be fixed with a battery pull, but how many times in a day one can do that? But today it got worse - even after a battery pull it hanged again in 2 minutes.
On all other blackberrys I have messed with I was able to delete blackberry messenger just like any other application. On this torch though, I have tried to delete it from the phones application list, from the desktop manager and have tried to delete it during a device software upgrade.In none of these situations was I able to remove it, the option is always greyed out. How can I delete blackberry messenger on my torch?
