Xperia Z3 :: WiFi Waiting For Mobile Data Signal To Be Disabled
Mar 21, 2013
Wifi on Lollipop 5.0.2 takes to much time to connect. It used to connect fast in KK.
When connected to Wifi it shows connected whereas the the Mobile data sign does not disappear unless as quick. Only after the Mobile data signal is disabled after 10 secs the connection starts working.
My Z3 phone keep on appear a message saying that my mobile data is disable when I scroll to open my phone or scroll down (from top) to view notification.
How to get rid of the message and it is necessary to switch on the mobile data which will cost me money?
I have a new T-Mobile S6 Edge and love the phone, but one thing I have not figured out is why I still get background mobile data usage even though I have disabled mobile data and set "restrict background data". Both tuiService and OS services are downloading approximately 100K at a time periodically over mobile data throughout the day even though I have a wifi connection.
my x10i keeps dropping its wifi connection. it is in an "excellent" signal strength area. i can now see that is related to my poor mobile network coverage at home. when the mobile network signal drops, then the wifi turns off and the turns on again, scans and reconnects. when the mobile network connects again (after a minute or two) the wifi turns off, then on again, scans and reconnects. this cycling is happening every minute or two. which leads to lots of frustrating network errors. exact issue described below with Internet clip: [url]. things improve if i turn off 3g and set network to gsm only.
While at home on WiFi my z3 is still using mobile data at the same time?? I can see the upload and download symbols working as well as the WiFi symbols?
I have this weared problem in my z2. My location gets turned on automatically & it's costing me mobile data charges even if I'm using Wi-Fi only... Mobile data is turned off. I see this money deduction msg after every few mins .
I am just sitting on my office desk, 2 meters from the router all day. But the phone keeps connecting to mobile data and just takes 5 kb of data for 20 -30 times a day. I fiddled with automatic background data settings, with no success.
I;ve justed noticed that Stamina on my mobile is not working properly IE it does not disbable WiFi or Mobile Data when the screen is off/ Â WiFi sleep is set to never keep it enabled. Â Also noticed that my WiFi keeps randomly disconnecting from an AP whilst I am using it
Since updating to lollipop i have had no mobile signal and the nfc icon keeps switching on and off. I have tried to hard reset my phone as will as factory reset and even reinstalled the firmware but to no avail. Tried putting another sim card in and still not working. everything was working fine on kitkat.
When my wifi disconnects the mobile data (internet) doesn't come straight on i have to switch my phone off and back on the it comes on then. It is ever since the recent update got installed.
The instant my browser starts to load a page my phone switches from wifi to 3G (I see it switch up on the top bar). I don't know how long this has been going on; I learned about it this month after getting wifi in my home and cutting my data plan from 2GB to 200MB--and going over ther limit. My wifi signal ranges from -39 to -67 dBM, which is in the full to three-quarter range on the wifi signal indicator. The service status indicates I'm connected, and wifi diagnostics indicates no issues. If I turn off my mobile network, the browser uses the wifi with no problems. Lastly, my BB app RSS newsreader uses wifi with no problem, and when invoking the browser from within the newsreader, the browser stays on wifi!RIM technical support said this is happening because my phone senses my mobile carrier signal is stronger than wifi, so it uses mobile data instead. In other words, this is a "feature".I don't buy it. Everything I've read says the web browser should use wifi if it's available.
My first smartphone is a Galaxy S5 and I use ATT as my provider.I have had the phone since it came out and for the first few months I was using low data. ATT called me and recommend I downgrade my data plan. I followed their advice and downgraded. Anyway, about three months ago my data usage that counts on my bill went through the roof. I haven't changed anything that I am aware.
I called ATT and they told me that Data usage counting on my bill will always take precedent over WIFI when I am connected to WIFI (like in my house). As an example if I watch a movie or listen to the radio with my smartphone at my house with my WIFI connected, then my data usage used for these services will count on my bill.
Do I automatically have to disable my mobile data everytime I connect to a WIFI in order NOT to be charged? I assumed that WIFI took precedent and that as long as WIFI was connected then the data used wouldn't count on my bill. If this is true, then is there anyway to have my phone automatically disconnect when I am connected to WiFi?
I'm in China at the moment and having problem getting a GPS signal. The signal indicator is permanently flashing yellow which presumably means it is trying to find a signal. Here are the facts: 1. Using Nokia Maps v3.03
2. Using prepaid China Unicom carrier (if that is relevant)
3. Have turned on all four position methods including Assisted GPS
4. GPS was working until recently (about 3 days ago). I revisited parts of Shanghai previously located fine on GPS, now unable. In Beijing at the moment and still flashing yellow.
5. It used to take about 5 minutes to get a signal from scratch (no external positioning server used as no 3G data provided on prepaid plan).
6. On the left of the signal bar is a picture of a satellite dish and two hooked lines. There is a line crossed through these two hooked lines that looks sort of like this: ≠What does this mean? (I think this is most likely the cause of my problem).
What I have tried so far (and obviously failed):
1. Leaving phone in my pocket for hours on end to pick up signal.
2. Deleting and reinstalling 3.03.
3. Installing Beta 3.04 then reverting back to 3.03 after that didn't work.
4. Every single permutation of position server and method in desperation.
At one time there was a place to check if wifi was bad, data would click on. Can't find it. Using att. Where I could find it? Or if it's gone after last update?
My iPhone 4 is at the latest iOS version. Ever since I started using it in December I've found out that at the same time every day(midnight) when connected to wifi it will use a considerable amount of 3G. I only recently found this out last month when I went over my monthly allowance.
I can only surmise that iCloud is somehow using the mobile data connection to backup when I've locked my phone, plugged it into the wall to charge and am asleep.
My wife has the same phone and does the same thing as I do at night but her phone doesn't use any 3G data when backing up.
Having checked my mobile bill for the last few months it is at exactly midnight that the phone starts using 3G data.....every night, without fail!
My wife and I both have 2014 Moto Xs on AT&T, roughly 3 weeks old. My phone is 100% great, however her phone will only connect to Wifi networks if mobile data is turned off.
I've tried everything, and can't get it to work correctly. It will either show the list of networks associated with the device with the word "disabled" under the most recent network, or be stuck on the blank "Searching for Wi-Fi networks..." screen.
My phone doesn't automatically connect to wifi when mobile data is on. I have been searching for a fix or setting since.I have ATT. My whole family has ATT. The kids both have 1st gen Moto X and my husband has Samsung, none of them have this issue and I believe we are all running the same android version.I have done lots of different things I have found along the way during my search for a fix but nothing has worked.
I can tell you that if I shut my mobile off and turn my Wifi on it will connect then I can turn my mobile back on and it will stay that way until I go out of my wifi range and the mobile kicks on then when I return to wifi range it won't connect. If I try to connect it will say disabled. That is when I turn off mobile, turn on wifi and then go back and turn mobile on again. If my mobile is off and I go out of wifi range it will connect back just fine, the issue seems to be only when mobile is ON.
I would like to be able to leave mobile on so I can receive MMS. But this is a pain because sometimes I forget that wifi didn't connect or I forget to go back in and turn mobile on and miss a lot of group texts, iphone long texts that come as MMS and pic texts until I turn my mobile on which sometimes could be days.
I've tried multiple wifi connections and my s6 will connect to them but when connected nothing that requires data loads at all and as soon as I'm off wifi my phone will load everything using mobile data. I've only had the phone a few days and have used almost 3 gigs of data!
I am unable to connect to the internet now. From yesterday just nothing happens when i click the data traffic icon and confirms the dailogue box that appears. No notification comes in the notification bar once it is turned on and I am unable to connect. But on disconnecting, the data traffic has been disabled notification appears.
After a hard reset on my nokia 603 on belle fp1 wifi and mobile data connections stopped working. I tried reinstalling the os also from nokia suite. Its not working. On connecting to my home wifi it gives a notification connection failed connection unavailable and I tried connecting to other wifi also.......
I am on the eve of receiving my new un-locked Motorola Charm MB502 phone. I have AT&T as the provided but I know even though it is a T-Mobile phone it works on the AT&T network. However I do not have, nor do I want to pay for a data plan. In fact as of now I have a Sony Ericsson C905a from AT&T just for the reason of not having to have a data plan; I don't need it or want to pay the $$. But I am interested in the wi-fi features of the Charm.I started looking into the Charm's user guide and I want to know if anyone can tell me if it is possible and how to set up the phone so it ONLY uses wi-fi to connect to data? Can I block mobile data usage through configuration? I don't want 2 things to happen:Paying for a lot of pay-as-you-use data MB.having AT&T see so many data packets and automatically slap a data plan on my phone.
basically my phone is not connecting to mobile data after wi-fi connection is lost or manually disconnected. This is not always happening but once it happens the only way to bring back mobile data is by restarting the phone or manually toggling mobile data on and off in settings. Once it connects to mobile data it'll work for a while but then after being connected on WI-FI for a while it won't go back to mobile data on its own.
Sometimes, touching was not enabled when I tried to slide the menu page (with an menu icon) on certain apps and, slide menu page on the left of some websites or by tapping on the menu icon on those sites; I have had to tap the second time or so to make it responded.
Next, connecting Z3 with Wi-Fi sometimes took past a minute over till I opened Wi-Fi setting (where from there I can view Wi-Fi networks).
I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who have Xperia Z3 have the glitches mentioned above. Will Sony Mobile provides a more better system update than the current version 4.4.4 in near future?
