View 1 RepliesAfter a hard reset on my nokia 603 on belle fp1 wifi and mobile data connections stopped working. I tried reinstalling the os also from nokia suite. Its not working. On connecting to my home wifi it gives a notification connection failed connection unavailable and I tried connecting to other wifi also.......
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed Belle FP2 on my 808 PureView to see if any of the FP1's wireless bugs were fixed. But so far it doesn't look too good.
If I create a custom internet target for my job needs and put some WiFi access points there, the phone still makes duplicate copies of them to Internet target upon connect.
I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling. My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location? If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals
I think there is a bug in 808 3g mobile data connection which causes the phone to turn off. It happened when you are in zero or weak connection. There is no problem if I turn mobile data off or use WiFi only. This is annoying especially if you use always on Whatsapp.

View 5 Replies View RelatedStarting late this afternoon, I lost all data connections except wifi. Verizon support told me an outage is nationwide for phones with LTE. As I am typing this, LTE is back for now after a 6+ hour outage. Hopefully Verizon fixed the lte/cdma problems that have been a problem for a couple of weeks.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI switched to Cricket from Virgin Mobile so I could go back to Windows with the 1320. In my 1st month with them I went over my 2.5 GB of data with about a week left in the month. In five years with VM I can count on one hand the times I went over 1.5 GB with them. Checking my data usage on Cricket's website I see 1-3 entries per day detailing my usage, some with very large amounts of data. Cricket CS tells me that my device uses their network first and Wi-Fi 2nd.
So in other words when I'm at home and connected to my home wi-fi the device will use Cricket's data even though it's connected to my Wifi. To fix this they told me I have to manually disable data from their network when I don't want to use it. Now this makes no sense to me since the 3 Android phones I've had did not do this once I connected to Wi-Fi the carrier's data was disabled. I think there must be a setting on the phone that must wrong that is keeping this from happening other that what Cricket CS told me. The way they explained it to me Wi-fi is useless because their data would be used regardless if it's connect or not.
Every single connection drops (3G, Wi-Fi and USB. Haven't tested NFC yet) at random times and I can't reconnect. It always says after that it can't connect and the connections are unavailable. After turning the phone off and then on again, everything is back to normal. I can normally connect to the 3G connection, Wi-Fi and USB.It's pretty annoying as I always have to restart my phone in order to connect via USB or to the Internet when it happens.Edit: I've found in this thread the same issue on Nokia 701 as well, so I guess it's more like a Symbian Belle problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a bare bones pay-as-you-go plan. All I get are free unlimited texts and free unlimited calls (within the country). I get no data and, frankly, I don't care for data. I do get annoyed that every so often while playing Angry Birds or using Nokia Maps or any of a number of other applications I will get the "Mobile Data Not Available" notice. How can I disable this notice? It is tiring and I KNOW I don't have Mobile Data.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter just paying alot of monies for this handset, I feel let down...
1. Most obvious and talked about is the OVi Maps update. Iv read this is on its way, I hope its soon!
2. No MMS
3. No SMS without conversations, I hate conversations. I hate that nokia are copying iphone...
4. No copying of old SMS to N900. I was a N86 8MP user before this handset arrived today. I have about 1 to 2 THOUSAND messages, from over the years and Im a texaholic, so I NEED to save them....
5. No extra data connections, With O2 UK, I would normally have 3 connections:
O2 MMS
O2 WAP
O2 GPRS
But in addition to this, the new sim cards, automatically have a O2 postpay wap connection. So, I would like to have as many connections as I can!
6. No editing contact number description text. With, another let down, I have hundreds of contacts and about 10-30 of those have more than 2 or 3 numbers. For example, my workplace contact. I had like 10 to 11 numbers, plus other details, such as notes and emails all stored under 1 contact! For each number and note, I edited the text so I know exactly whos number it was, or what that text related to
I sure there's more, but atm since turning it on, charging, updating to latest firmware and first time boot with sim card, this is what I have found so far...
I have a 920 that has given me fits since I got it a week ago. I have had this happen at several hotel, work and home locations. What happens is that at some point during the day, I want to connect to the Wi-Fi whereever I am at. So I turn on the screen, go into Settings/Wi-Fi and I am not able to connect to anything. The Wi-Fi option is turned ON but the toggle for it is grayed out and you cannot change it (to ON or OFF). Also, there is a progress bar scrolling across as it indicates "Searching". It will stay that way for HOURS if you wait that long.I also noticed that if I go to Bluetooth settings at this point, I cannot turn that On or Off either (although the toggle is not grayed out). The rest of the phone and app functions work normal at this point. The only way to get WiFi or BT working is to reboot the phone, then everything will work for a while and at some point in time, this will happen all over again.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs I understand (at least is what the user's guide describes), the N97 connects to WiFi via 802.11b/g...Anyone knows if there is a way to connect the phone via 5Ghz WiFi connections?I have too much equipment in my house using the 2.4Ghz channels (bluetooth, PS2 controllers, etc), and I'm using a WiFi router in 802.11a/n with 5Ghz range to lower the interference.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI cannot get the mobile data connection to work. I have restarted the phone, contacted my network provider for the information to set up a new connection, have updated the software, have done a reset but nothing is working. I also do not have the 3G symbol next to my network provider so something seems to be missing or not working correctly.
I have put the sim into my Iphone and I do not have any problems. It immediately connects to 3G and I have internet and do not have to change any setup info. Its pretty frustrating as I have only had it for less than a week but have spent most of the time searching for a solution and am wondering, if there are this many issues, whether not to just return the phone. Any tips to setup the mobile data connection?
After a few problems with my phone, I had to flash the stock ROM again. This was done without a problem and everything works, except for my mobile data. When I press it, it will turn green, but no letter will appear at the top of my screen and the data just wont work.

View 10 Replies View RelatedThe instant my browser starts to load a page my phone switches from wifi to 3G (I see it switch up on the top bar). I don't know how long this has been going on; I learned about it this month after getting wifi in my home and cutting my data plan from 2GB to 200MB--and going over ther limit. My wifi signal ranges from -39 to -67 dBM, which is in the full to three-quarter range on the wifi signal indicator. The service status indicates I'm connected, and wifi diagnostics indicates no issues. If I turn off my mobile network, the browser uses the wifi with no problems. Lastly, my BB app RSS newsreader uses wifi with no problem, and when invoking the browser from within the newsreader, the browser stays on wifi!RIM technical support said this is happening because my phone senses my mobile carrier signal is stronger than wifi, so it uses mobile data instead. In other words, this is a "feature".I don't buy it. Everything I've read says the web browser should use wifi if it's available.
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy first smartphone is a Galaxy S5 and I use ATT as my provider.I have had the phone since it came out and for the first few months I was using low data. ATT called me and recommend I downgrade my data plan. I followed their advice and downgraded. Anyway, about three months ago my data usage that counts on my bill went through the roof. I haven't changed anything that I am aware.
I called ATT and they told me that Data usage counting on my bill will always take precedent over WIFI when I am connected to WIFI (like in my house). As an example if I watch a movie or listen to the radio with my smartphone at my house with my WIFI connected, then my data usage used for these services will count on my bill.
Do I automatically have to disable my mobile data everytime I connect to a WIFI in order NOT to be charged? I assumed that WIFI took precedent and that as long as WIFI was connected then the data used wouldn't count on my bill. If this is true, then is there anyway to have my phone automatically disconnect when I am connected to WiFi?
I am just sitting on my office desk, 2 meters from the router all day. But the phone keeps connecting to mobile data and just takes 5 kb of data for 20 -30 times a day. I fiddled with automatic background data settings, with no success.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAt one time there was a place to check if wifi was bad, data would click on. Can't find it. Using att. Where I could find it? Or if it's gone after last update?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy iPhone 4 is at the latest iOS version. Ever since I started using it in December I've found out that at the same time every day(midnight) when connected to wifi it will use a considerable amount of 3G. I only recently found this out last month when I went over my monthly allowance.
I can only surmise that iCloud is somehow using the mobile data connection to backup when I've locked my phone, plugged it into the wall to charge and am asleep.
My wife has the same phone and does the same thing as I do at night but her phone doesn't use any 3G data when backing up.
Having checked my mobile bill for the last few months it is at exactly midnight that the phone starts using 3G data.....every night, without fail!
