Nokia Nseries :: 700: Connections Drop At Random Times
Oct 30, 2011
Every single connection drops (3G, Wi-Fi and USB. Haven't tested NFC yet) at random times and I can't reconnect. It always says after that it can't connect and the connections are unavailable. After turning the phone off and then on again, everything is back to normal. I can normally connect to the 3G connection, Wi-Fi and USB.It's pretty annoying as I always have to restart my phone in order to connect via USB or to the Internet when it happens.Edit: I've found in this thread the same issue on Nokia 701 as well, so I guess it's more like a Symbian Belle problem.
I've recently bought a Nokia 700 and for few days I'm experiencing this weird problem.Every single connection drops (3G, Wi-Fi and USB. Haven't tested NFC yet) at random times and I can't reconnect. It always says after that it can't connect and the connections are unavailable. After turning the phone off and then on again, everything is back to normal. I can normally connect to the 3G connection, Wi-Fi and USB.It's pretty annoying as I always have to restart my phone in order to connect via USB or to the Internet when it happens.Anyone else who is experiencing the same problem or has any solutions to this?
I had belle for few weeks on my n8 now and I noticed very annoying issue. At completely random times screen goes off. It is not going off per settings. I have to lock the screen and then unlock it or else there is no response by touching it. I could be browsing web or checking email and it will go dark, it is not because of lack of activity.
I just installed Belle FP2 on my 808 PureView to see if any of the FP1's wireless bugs were fixed. But so far it doesn't look too good.
If I create a custom internet target for my job needs and put some WiFi access points there, the phone still makes duplicate copies of them to Internet target upon connect.
Anyone know how where I can download a copy of Nokia Drop for my N8 Belle please?beta labs have scrapped the project and I lost the app when I had to hard reset my phone.
Does anyone else have major 3G problems with this phone? Sometimes it will stay on 1X in a known 3G area, other times it will drop totally and then come back after a few seconds. I have had an Original Droid and a Droid X that had no such problems in my area. I need to know if this is defective behavior or if it is a software problem that can be fixed and Motorola is aware of.
Anyone else have the issues of calls dropping as they are placed and/or "Cannot Connect to the Cellular Data service" when you try open email or Safari?
ecently I purchased a Nokia N8-00, I made backup of my Nokia 3110c (two times only SMS) and E65 (Only SMS) through PC suite and OVI suite. Now I want to restore all SMS to my new Nokia N8-00. Please tell me how to do this from last 3 backups.
My Z3 does constant hang ups at random times. Sometimes when I call someone it will hang up before it even rings even if I hit call back IMMEDIATLY after it hangs up it hangs right back up. Â Sometimes I can talk for 5 mins sometimes 3hrs but it will randomly hang up. A phone restart fixed it sometimes I have changed the signal prefrences and no change. I have factory resetted the phone and no change. I am about to do a Software repair with the PC Companion. If this does not work I don't know what to do.
I'm getting a network error network not available message at random times. It could be when I've just restarted the phone, it could be first thing in the morning, it could be when I'm doing something and have had screen on for more than 5 minutes.
Since my N8-00 has been upgraded to Symbian Anna, a single SMS message is billed multiple times. Now and then a simple SMS (within the constraints of a single SMS, without any special letters) shows up on my bill as if it was send 2 (sometimes even 3) times. Each time there is a delay of exactly 3 seconds between them.It seems as if the communication between the phone and the SIM card or the cell tower causes the phone to attempt sending the SMS multiple times, while actually each time it tries, the attempt is marked as sent and consecutively shows up on the bill.Because this problem has only been occuring since the upgrade to Symbian Anna, I suspect a software bug to be the problem. The receiver phone gets only 1 SMS as he/she is supposed to.
My gmails are all automatically deleted at random times throughout the day. This only occurs on the blackberry, not on my computer. Brought device to sprint tech support and they did a hard reset, but problem still occurs.
Earlier this week I updated my edge to 5.1.1. Ever since I randomly get the error message "unfortunately hangouts has stopped". I have never used hangouts and it has been disabled since the day I got my phone. I tried clearing the cache and it still happens. I use the stock texting app and have never even looked at hangouts. I tried to diagnose what was causing this, but it happens at random times.
Seems like my Nexus 5 won't send SMS messages, at random times, for no apparent reason. I'm sending messages to friends, getting responses, then boom, the "sending" bounces, but refuses to send the SMS. It then gives me a message saying that it failed, and is retrying. Still won't send, until kt decides to randomly send the SMS at some point. I am on the Fido (Canadian) network. I tried through Hangouts and through a 3rd party app.
My phone has been turning off on me at random times with battery life, but when I try to turn it back on it does not respond. If I plug it is to charge it will reboot and then charge as if the battery died. What is causing my phone to turn off with half a batter life left?
I bought my iPhone 5c in September. Last week my iphone randomly died once i returned inside frim making a call on the phone even though it had well over 30%. I immediatly thought the cold weather got to my phone and caused it to shut down. I wrapped it in a blanket and put it on the charger to warm faster. My phone stayed off for 30 more minutes. Today it shut off once again. But while i was holding my home and lock button the apple logo appeared as normal. But the screen began to glitch and look static like. The screen then went black and didnt turn back on. Once again i held the lock button and home button. My lockscreen appeared. As i slide the screen to unlock my phone the entire screen went blue and shut back off. Â
I didnt drop my phone or get it wet, this just randomly started. I even reset my phone settings as recommended by other which did not work.Â
My Pureview 808 has recently started doing random reboots, and showing a "system error" on every restart. I have carried out a *#7370# and reinstalled the full firmware image from Nokia Suite (twice) and am still getting the same issues. This occurs without doing any restore at all of previous files.
I have just got a new N8 (as I damaged my old one), and every 10 minutes it makes a noise, like something dropping in water. I have no apps or anything open, no messages etc so I've no idea why its making this noise?
For about a week or so now I've been having issues with my 1520. At random times the screen will start shaking as if it's trying to scroll two directions and it will sometimes randomly click things on the screen. It pulls up Cortana alot and the capacitive buttons will stop responding all together. It only stops when I press the power button to turn off the screen but it just randomly starts later. I've tried a soft reset and that did nothing.
Experienced crackling sound from the phone when it is just sitting there? My Atrix has a recurring crackle from the speakers at random times. This occurs when it is sitting idle. I don't have any trouble when actually using the phone.
I've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling. My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location? If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals
I am facing this problem with my Nokia N81 just starting from today. Whenever, I slide it to access the keypad, it's screen turns corrupted with funky lines and random things on the screen. What could be the problem? Could it be the hardware or software?
When I do *#7780# on my Nokia Flagship N97 mini it report to close all exiting connection first. How do I close all connections on the N97 Mini in order to do a *#7780# reset? Very excited about the N97 mini
I'm using windows XP, Service pack 3.Version of PC Suite installed : v7.1.60.0 I'm trying to connect my phone using bluetooth as I haven't got a USB. Laptop can find the phone and connect to it as shown in the screenshot. However, no connections are listed as available after clicking 'next' as directed.
I am going abroad and want to make sure that I cannot use GPRS/WAP while abroad. I still want the wifi feature. How do you dissable it to ensure that it cannot come on by itself and will only ask if needed. Any help would be appreciated.
I have a 920 that has given me fits since I got it a week ago. I have had this happen at several hotel, work and home locations. What happens is that at some point during the day, I want to connect to the Wi-Fi whereever I am at. So I turn on the screen, go into Settings/Wi-Fi and I am not able to connect to anything. The Wi-Fi option is turned ON but the toggle for it is grayed out and you cannot change it (to ON or OFF). Also, there is a progress bar scrolling across as it indicates "Searching". It will stay that way for HOURS if you wait that long.I also noticed that if I go to Bluetooth settings at this point, I cannot turn that On or Off either (although the toggle is not grayed out). The rest of the phone and app functions work normal at this point. The only way to get WiFi or BT working is to reboot the phone, then everything will work for a while and at some point in time, this will happen all over again.
