ecently I purchased a Nokia N8-00, I made backup of my Nokia 3110c (two times only SMS) and E65 (Only SMS) through PC suite and OVI suite. Now I want to restore all SMS to my new Nokia N8-00. Please tell me how to do this from last 3 backups.
View 5 RepliesI had belle for few weeks on my n8 now and I noticed very annoying issue. At completely random times screen goes off. It is not going off per settings. I have to lock the screen and then unlock it or else there is no response by touching it. I could be browsing web or checking email and it will go dark, it is not because of lack of activity.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSince my N8-00 has been upgraded to Symbian Anna, a single SMS message is billed multiple times.Now and then a simple SMS (within the constraints of a single SMS, without any special letters) shows up on my bill as if it was send 2 (sometimes even 3) times. Each time there is a delay of exactly 3 seconds between them.It seems as if the communication between the phone and the SIM card or the cell tower causes the phone to attempt sending the SMS multiple times, while actually each time it tries, the attempt is marked as sent and consecutively shows up on the bill.Because this problem has only been occuring since the upgrade to Symbian Anna, I suspect a software bug to be the problem.The receiver phone gets only 1 SMS as he/she is supposed to.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNokia 3110 Classic.I can hear the kepad tones I cannot hear the ringing tones.This has recently happened. Up to now everything has been fine. Probably finger trouble.The volume is at maximum.I only have the standard ring tones.I cannot hear them when a call is received and also not when selecting them from Settings/ Tones/ Ring tone/More/Open gallery/Tones/Ring tones.I can hear the tones through the hands free earphone, both when a call is received and when selecting them .Being able to hear the keypad tones, with the handset not plugged in, I think means the mechanical speaker cutoff is not involved.

SFR uses 123 to access the voice message recorder, currently accessible through a long push on key 1. Orange uses 888, so I would like a long push on key 1 to trigger 888 instead of 123. Unfortunately, how to is not explained in the manual which deals only of keys 2 to 9. I also resetted the phone to Factory Settings, and even loaded "Default Operator Settings", hoping that that would include reprogramming of key 1 to 888. No way..

but how to restore the backup?If I go to Applications - Office - File mgr. - MENU nothing there.If I hold down the Backup Menu it takes me straight inside Backup, the icon only shows Backup and nothing about restore function?
If I format my 5233, does its backup also gets formatted?

Now because I'm synchronizing my main calendar on the N8 with Microsoft Exchange, the Nokia Suite Calendar sync is off. But I had other calendars on my N8 (not synchronized with Exchange) and I'd like to access my calendar entries from there. I've made frequent backups of the whole calendar entries with Nokia Suite, so I hope I can somehow at least read my calendar entries from there.

When you start maps after having done a backup with the internal file manager, the GPS satellite dish symbol doesn't show up. Maps is not finding any route after showing the location based on UMTS. Although everythings looks ok in maps (you cannot see the missing GPS symbol), navigation will not work. Maps shows always the same location (looks like frozen). I had this now two time in heavy traffic in Aachen an Baden-Baden until I figured out the root cause.. To resolve the situation you need to switch off and on the N8. It is a night mare when you cannot restart the N8 while driving, and you cannot stop on a major street.The bug is reproducable. I hope it gets fixed fast. It's a pitty that maps doesn't show any error warning when getting started about the missing GPS. The recent Belle refresh had no solution to the problem. The bug is with both maps 3.08 and 3.09. Never do an automatic backup when you want to use maps.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI had the phone for 3 months couple of weeks ago started to reboot I reflashed and it was ok for couple of days but started to reboot again. I was told that this might be a hardware issue although I used the wrong OS for my first reflash and one of the guru's from this forum helped me choose the proper OS and I will try to reflash and if this will not solve rebooting issue I'll have to send it for service.This is a US phone and I'm the second owner, please let me know if I can still use the warranty on it. I'll be in US in couple of weeks.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI can only confirm that i see most of the already posted issues with the 40.0.005 FW. Most seriously is controlled the phone restart. Mine does it 2-3 time pr day. The phone is totally unusable now. I have been forced to take an old HTC windoes mobile in to action again.Will probably go for an Android now. @Nokia: Not a good action to move all 2G development to India!

I recently bought a Nokia 5230 on T-Mobile and I'm experiencing problems with it freezing and rebooting several times a day.
I have checked to make sure I have the latest software version. I also ensure that I do not have lots of applications open at the same time. There is no particular function that makes the phone do this, ii even does it by itself when I'm not even using it.
Someone told me this was due to T-Mobile putting their own software but is there anything else that could be causing this?
