I'm in China at the moment and having problem getting a GPS signal. The signal indicator is permanently flashing yellow which presumably means it is trying to find a signal.
Here are the facts:
1. Using Nokia Maps v3.03
2. Using prepaid China Unicom carrier (if that is relevant)
3. Have turned on all four position methods including Assisted GPS
4. GPS was working until recently (about 3 days ago). I revisited parts of Shanghai previously located fine on GPS, now unable. In Beijing at the moment and still flashing yellow.
5. It used to take about 5 minutes to get a signal from scratch (no external positioning server used as no 3G data provided on prepaid plan).
6. On the left of the signal bar is a picture of a satellite dish and two hooked lines. There is a line crossed through these two hooked lines that looks sort of like this: ≠What does this mean? (I think this is most likely the cause of my problem).
What I have tried so far (and obviously failed):
1. Leaving phone in my pocket for hours on end to pick up signal.
2. Deleting and reinstalling 3.03.
3. Installing Beta 3.04 then reverting back to 3.03 after that didn't work.
4. Every single permutation of position server and method in desperation.
Wifi on Lollipop 5.0.2 takes to much time to connect. It used to connect fast in KK.
When connected to Wifi it shows connected whereas the the Mobile data sign does not disappear unless as quick. Only after the Mobile data signal is disabled after 10 secs the connection starts working.

I have an E72. It has two email accounts one is a yahoo account with no issues it stays connected 24/7. I also have another account which I've set up and it works however everytime I go to it I have to select a connection with the "Select Connection" pop up appearing. Once I have selected the connection no problem it syncs the email. However it doesn't let me know any emails are waiting until I manually connect it. I have gone through the manual and settings and can't see where I have gone wrong.
In my Nokia 3120 classic mobile, the call waiting option is not working. If a new call comes while you're on a call, it shows the new call. But if I try to answer it, it shows some error.
I bought my Nokia 5800 a year ago.Updated Nokia mobile Ovi software and Nokia maps 3.01. When I start navigation and chose a specific root, I noticed that it does not locate my position at all. And when starting the navigation it give "waiting for GPS message" and the signal intensity of GPS is about flashing one bar.
I have been trying to load maps into my N900 using the Map Loader. The N900 was connected to my Windows 7 laptop using Mass Storage mode. Fire off Map Loader and then it got stuck at "waiting for phone". That message keep flishing and nothign else seems to be happening. Anyone encounter a simple problem and it is possible to fix this one?
1- I have installed PC SUIT suitable for nokia N900 2- Also installed nokia map loader version 3.0
Now all is fine. Isn't it? So they said first start nokia map application till it load completely then close it. I did. Then connect ur phone on PC SUIT MODE and also I did that. Then all I get on nokia map loader app is "Waiting for the phone" thats it and phone already connected I tried in both modes pc suit and mass storage but still the same "Waiting for the phone" and I am waiting too.
I have a problem with my Nokia 5230 Navigation Edition: when I launch OVI Maps application and choose desired route, I have only a message: "Waiting for GPS" - all the time, no matter where I am - in the big city, in the countryside, on the field - still no fix caught. I have latest OVI Maps version installed and all settings set to rely on built-in GPS module.Do You have any ideas how to make my 5230 NE to be really NE?
I've downloaded the new ovi maps 3.3. But I have no actual maps on it, I just see empty space and have all the options for GPS etc. Now I want to use Map loader. It keeps telling me "Waiting for phone' fine I plug in my phone with usb cable, take pc suite, and it just keeps on going "waiting for phone", now when I choose Mass storage mode, I get an error telling me " You have atleast 1 phone connected in mass storage mode, please reconnect your phone and select pc suite" I do that and yep. Keeps going "Waiting for phone".
I have a Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition phone. After installing the Map Loader application, when I connect my device to Windows 7 laptop in the "PC Suite" mode, Map Loader keeps waiting for the phone.
When I make calls if the person I call is buzy talking with third person its suppose shows "call waiting" on my phone right? but Nokia 5800 XpressMusic never shows this msg. Is it the phone software like that or I need to setup something on it?
Still no sign of anything from Nokia, and they are stopping Sygic's contribution from being available too. List of Compatible Devices Coming Soon The problem is that when you go to OVI Store (as mentioned on the above link, the App can't be found in there). use my nokia 6303 for checking email (gmail / eircom email). Have set-up and works fine - i.e. I can download and read email on my phone.problem is that when I say delete from phone and server it tells me that it is waiting for deletion and never seems to diappear as an entry on my phone. Does anyone know why this is and how to delete these entries from your phone? Do these waiting for deletion entries take up much space on your phone ?
Can any one let me know when the BELLE update will be available to us o2 users with the above product code, I have made several enquiries to both nokia UK and o2 UK but I am constantly getting fobbed off.
I have always used Nokias wouldn't have anything else. I recently got a 6700 and at some point the word 'waiting' appeared at the bottom of the screen, I have no idea what this is for nor how to get rid of it. Does anybody no what this is or what its for?
Recently, I began to have this problem where the phone is showing full signal but the phone is actually not receiving any signal. So calls will not come in at all.
I live in a poor reception area on the Rogers network. I've noticed that when I go into the basement the phone drops a signal pretty quickly. I am okay with this and is expected. My issue is when I get back on to the main floor, the phone does not pick up a signal again for a long time. Sometimes even toggling airplane mode doesn't work. My wife's iPhone does the same thing.
What do these Icons represent or mean, and the meaning when they change Colors from White to Blue (Status Icons). There was a GB 2.3.4 User Manual Posted on Moto's site, Unfortunately no information was included about these Items. What does it mean when all three are blue, Including the H+ icon having arrows beneath it at the same time? Is it also Possible to have the Intro Video Posted or embedded to this thread as well please.
Anyone else experience this? I did th sotware upgrade and a few hours later this happened. I tried manually connecting to the network and it wont. T-mobile asked me to send the phone back but there is a major scratch on the screen so they told me my return warranty was void now.So far I have a $400 paper weight. Anyone fix this issue?
I've had this twice now where I couldn't get a GPS signal. This never happened on my Droid 1, but has happened twice in less than 30 days (two different phones - since I replaced the first one when this happened). This has been in 2 completely different locations.
I was wondering if anyone knows what algorithm is used for the signal bars on the Photon 4G. I have found that there seems to be no correlation between the signal strength (in dBm / asu) in Settings -> About phone -> Status and the signal bars that are shown. Often the signal bars will shoot from 1 to 5 or 6 even with really low signal ( ~97 to > 100 dBm) that doesn't fluctuate.
