I just got a NOkia E72 two days ago, and I downloa and installed nokia ovi suite, and have finally installed canada map to it, but once I try to find a place and drive there, the device keep saying "waiting for gps".anyone can help me solve this problem please?
im facing problems with my n97mini since last weekend when i try to track my position using GPS ou even walk/drive. the ovi maps 3.04 keep saying "waiting for GPS".
dont know that is my problem or the app or the satelite. im in Maputo,Mozambique near South Africa. i've tryied hard reset, format mass memory and reinstal the ovi maps 3.04. no changes. i have another cell nokia n82 using maps v3.03 and no probs found, its working fine!
I am not able to use positioning on my E-72. All I get to see is "Waiting for GPS". does this actually work the way Nokia is promoting it or is it a farce.
I'm in China at the moment and having problem getting a GPS signal. The signal indicator is permanently flashing yellow which presumably means it is trying to find a signal. Here are the facts: 1. Using Nokia Maps v3.03
2. Using prepaid China Unicom carrier (if that is relevant)
3. Have turned on all four position methods including Assisted GPS
4. GPS was working until recently (about 3 days ago). I revisited parts of Shanghai previously located fine on GPS, now unable. In Beijing at the moment and still flashing yellow.
5. It used to take about 5 minutes to get a signal from scratch (no external positioning server used as no 3G data provided on prepaid plan).
6. On the left of the signal bar is a picture of a satellite dish and two hooked lines. There is a line crossed through these two hooked lines that looks sort of like this: ≠What does this mean? (I think this is most likely the cause of my problem).
What I have tried so far (and obviously failed):
1. Leaving phone in my pocket for hours on end to pick up signal.
2. Deleting and reinstalling 3.03.
3. Installing Beta 3.04 then reverting back to 3.03 after that didn't work.
4. Every single permutation of position server and method in desperation.
I have maps 3.03 & Nokia E71. My GPS keeps on showing "waiting for GPS". Do I need to activate something before using maps? I have already changing various settings like enabling/disabling A-GPS, etc.
The first time I got my n97 mini (3months ago) The GPS worked but took about a minute. Now I everytime I navigate to no matter where It always says Waiting for GPS and thats all it does. Ive left it for minutes and minutes and is still the same.Ive re installed maps and installed it again ive updated it but its still the same?
I have an E72. It has two email accounts one is a yahoo account with no issues it stays connected 24/7. I also have another account which I've set up and it works however everytime I go to it I have to select a connection with the "Select Connection" pop up appearing. Once I have selected the connection no problem it syncs the email. However it doesn't let me know any emails are waiting until I manually connect it. I have gone through the manual and settings and can't see where I have gone wrong.
In my Nokia 3120 classic mobile, the call waiting option is not working. If a new call comes while you're on a call, it shows the new call. But if I try to answer it, it shows some error.
I bought my Nokia 5800 a year ago.Updated Nokia mobile Ovi software and Nokia maps 3.01. When I start navigation and chose a specific root, I noticed that it does not locate my position at all. And when starting the navigation it give "waiting for GPS message" and the signal intensity of GPS is about flashing one bar.
I have been trying to load maps into my N900 using the Map Loader. The N900 was connected to my Windows 7 laptop using Mass Storage mode. Fire off Map Loader and then it got stuck at "waiting for phone". That message keep flishing and nothign else seems to be happening. Anyone encounter a simple problem and it is possible to fix this one?
1- I have installed PC SUIT suitable for nokia N900 2- Also installed nokia map loader version 3.0
Now all is fine. Isn't it? So they said first start nokia map application till it load completely then close it. I did. Then connect ur phone on PC SUIT MODE and also I did that. Then all I get on nokia map loader app is "Waiting for the phone" thats it and phone already connected I tried in both modes pc suit and mass storage but still the same "Waiting for the phone" and I am waiting too.
I have a problem with my Nokia 5230 Navigation Edition: when I launch OVI Maps application and choose desired route, I have only a message: "Waiting for GPS" - all the time, no matter where I am - in the big city, in the countryside, on the field - still no fix caught. I have latest OVI Maps version installed and all settings set to rely on built-in GPS module.Do You have any ideas how to make my 5230 NE to be really NE?
I've downloaded the new ovi maps 3.3. But I have no actual maps on it, I just see empty space and have all the options for GPS etc. Now I want to use Map loader. It keeps telling me "Waiting for phone' fine I plug in my phone with usb cable, take pc suite, and it just keeps on going "waiting for phone", now when I choose Mass storage mode, I get an error telling me " You have atleast 1 phone connected in mass storage mode, please reconnect your phone and select pc suite" I do that and yep. Keeps going "Waiting for phone".
I have a Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition phone. After installing the Map Loader application, when I connect my device to Windows 7 laptop in the "PC Suite" mode, Map Loader keeps waiting for the phone.
When I make calls if the person I call is buzy talking with third person its suppose shows "call waiting" on my phone right? but Nokia 5800 XpressMusic never shows this msg. Is it the phone software like that or I need to setup something on it?
Still no sign of anything from Nokia, and they are stopping Sygic's contribution from being available too. List of Compatible Devices Coming Soon The problem is that when you go to OVI Store (as mentioned on the above link, the App can't be found in there). Have set-up and works fine - i.e. I can download and read email on my phone.problem is that when I say delete from phone and server it tells me that it is waiting for deletion and never seems to diappear as an entry on my phone. Does anyone know why this is and how to delete these entries from your phone? Do these waiting for deletion entries take up much space on your phone ?
Can any one let me know when the BELLE update will be available to us o2 users with the above product code, I have made several enquiries to both nokia UK and o2 UK but I am constantly getting fobbed off.

I am looking to get a phone with SIP function.I am thinking either E66 or E71.When I turn the wifi on and with the SIP registered. How long can the battery last?Which model last longer?
I switch my E72 phone off for the night. In the morning the alarm rings, and I like the snooze function, I snooze several times (5 minutes). However, every now and then, the phone will not ring after a few snoozes, but will remain silent (and I get late).Usually does it after 25 minutes (5 snoozes),I cannot switch the phone on - I have to take out the battery, and put it back. Then it will immediately ring - usually shows the last snooze time, but of course I will have to set the time.It has been to the service, but this problem has remaind, but it is very annoying, usually it is very important not to be late!
I've a Nokia 5230 since a week. I knew it has no wifi when I bought it. For some use, it would be nice to have wifi function (free hotspot without France per exemple), so I'm looking for solutions on Web. I've found an application "bluetooth-wlan-convert" (!!!) but I can't install it on my 5230 to test it (not compatible). I also have seen a microSD card with wlan function but it seems to work only on Windows CE or Linux based smartphones (http://www.chipchick.com /2006/09/spectecs_micros.html). If the price was acceptable, do you think if it could be use on Symbian based phones with an appropriate application ? Do you know other way for having wifi function on phone without wifi?
I've just changed my N79 for an N86. my N79 had a useful search function in the main menu, which enabled me to search through the phone for particular files etc.As far as i was aware, the N86 also had this, as i noticed it on a couple of internet reviews. However, it's not on the phone.i thought it might be in applications> office or in tools, but it's not there. Does anyone know why and if you can download it?
The earphone controls on my N97 mini do not function. If I want to increase/decrease the volume or change track the controls on the earphone do not respond; instead I need to use the phone in order to the operations. I can listen to music without problems.
I have been used Nokia phone for several years, and my current used phone is Nokia N97.I ever to know when will Nokia Symbian change the message function into conversation style like iPhone or others. Will N97 firmware update to v31.xxx and change the message function?
I bought a Nokia 87 (not mini) from the internet about 2 months ago. The Gps/Maps application freezes after a few seconds and I cannot exit the application. I've done all sorts of resets on the phone, removed maps and re-installed them - to no avail.
