I have the iphone coming in the mail tomorrow via fedex from att.com and idk if im gonna be home to receive it. However, other family members will be at the house. is it possible for one of them to sign for it or can i leave a note at the door for fedex man to leave it by the door? If none of these are adequate, what are my alternatives if i wont be home?
View 6 RepliesiPhone's being shipped by UPS will be delivered on the 24th iPhone's being shipped by Fedex will be delivered on the 23rd (It shouldn't matter if you ordered through AT&T or Apple.com) The only evidence to back this up is Apple's email to its customers claiming a June 23rd delivery, and all of these orders have Fedex as the carrier. This could mean that AT&T customers with Fedex as the carrier will also receive their iPhone's on the 23rd as well. Though for most AT&T customers there is no data for their tracking. EDIT- Some Fedex tracking information is showing a June 23rd delivery, on par with Apple.com orders. Fedex could be exclusively dealing with June 23rd deliveries while UPS is dealing with June 24th (Actual Launch Day) deliveries.

Just leave it outside my door at an apartment complex.Someone was home too and they didn't even knock or ring bell.Just leave package at door and leave. Luckily person home found it when they went outside. Not sure how long it was there. Important thing is I have it now Reception issue present and no yellow blobs.BTW.Much better luck with UPS here in Southern California. They leave package at leasing office vs just leave it outside and hope someone doesn't take it.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI just checked the status of my delivery, and to my dismay saw the message, "Package not due for delivery" at 9:04pm tonight. It arrived at South San Francisco (5 minutes away from where I live) from Oakland at 6:43pm.
I got the email yesterday that told me my package will be delivered on the 23rd, but after seeing this, I doubt it will happen now.
I was just checking the status of my order and it said that it was on the fedex vehicle for delivery? Is anyone else having this? I am not at my delivery address because I got the email it was goingto be delivered tomorrow. I am on my iPhone typing this so I will try to post a screenshot when I get home. I needed to clear the IT policy from my BB Bold. I followed the instructions:
- backup
- wipe handheld
- replace policy.bin file
- restore
The phone works just fine. The policy appears to be gone, and I can set the security options as I want. However, when I start my Blackberry Desktop, I get an error saying "error reading policy file. Please contact your Administrator". Any idea what the issue is and how to correct it?
I have decided after reading all the threads that I will pre-order from Apple next Tuesday and now need to decide whether to have home delivery or in store delivery. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
Ive heard that to home there may be activation issues and its better to be in store for troubleshooting but in store on launch day may be packed and I may have to wait I've heard that they have 2 different lines for walk ins and pre-orders is this true? If I send to store can I pick up anytime that day? How does apple ship their orders UPS.FedEx.Etc.Just want to get all the facts for both options if possible. This is my first time pre-ordering and just want to be prepared and make the right decision.

I ordered almost as soon as preordering started, jamming Command+R until the "Coming Soon" icon disappeared from the Apple website.There was no change in the order status from AT&T for a while, until (on the 20th) the status suddenly says "shipped" on the 18th. Weird.

It told me mine is on the way to my zicode and will be delivered on the 23rd! So give this a try! It worked for me!

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo. I was tracking my package today and since I am at work and no one was home to sign for the package, I assumed that I would see a delivery attempt on the tracking page. However to my dismay, the phone was left on my front porch without release authorization. The tracking info says the following.Left at front door. Package delivered to recipient address - release authorized This unacceptable for two reasons. First, this would be easy target for thieves. Especially with the wide publicity of the iPhone launch. If I were a thief I'd be driving around residential areas and just swiping any fedex package that left on the front door. Secondly, today is an extraordinarily hot day and the temps are easily in the upper 90's. My porch is in direct sunlight, effectively making the box act as an oven baking my iPhone. So I ended up leaving work for an hour so that I can pick up the phone so it wouldn't bake in the sun for 5 hours. Angry as hell, I called Fedex to see who authorized the release. They said that Fedex reserves the right to release packages in residential areas without a release agreement on file to expedite deliveries because of possible volume issues. WTF! So am I being over-sensitive? Or do I have the right the be a little peeved? I'm actually pretty angry. Almost to the point where I want to call fedex or apple and say I never got the package. But I won't. I'm a good christian boy and never would do such a thing.

When a user's password expires and he changes it and not update his exchange account password on his iOS device his account will get locked out almost immediately -- as it should. Is there anyway around this that does not involve the user? What I basically want is when a user changes his account password and not update his password in iOS is to have iOS try to authenticate, fail and then prompt the user for the new credentials.That happens exactly with one big exception, iOS will not stop trying to authenticate which will cause the account to be locked. How many time does iOS tries to authenticate before giving up?Does iOS keeps trying even after it prompts the user for the new password?

I like it because when I am texting from apps like tlert or biteSMS, it verifies that the text was sent. This is useful for me in areas where I have poor service as a verification. Why do I need this? Because I have often sent a text, then gone back hours later to see that it never sent. This is due to a combination of poor service in certain areas and the fact that I usually keep the ringer switch set to vibrate.
I searched a long time trying to find something that would make my phone vibrate when the message was sent, but couldn't find anything, so I went into the files and figured it myself. I did this all in iFile, because it was way easier then through SSH - but you can do either one.
1.) open iFile/SSH into your phone.
2.) Go to System>Library>PrivateFrameworks>Celestial.Framework and open the file "SystemSoundBehaviors.plist"
3.)* Scroll down to:

There are all other sorts of sound behaviors that you look at it in there, such as when you flip the ringer switch (whether it vibrates or not).There are multiple settings for each action. Look at the keys: Ring or Vibrate? Or ignore? Silent or Vibrate? Or ignore. Is the ringer switch on or off? Or ignore?
I haven't seen anything stating that the email we all received stating that our iPhone4's would arrive Wednesday the 23rd and not the 24th is a real true from Apple.com email.Mine is in route to my local FedEx facility but still shows the 24th (yes I know what the email says even though it says the 24th it still will be the 23rd).
