Sep 27, 2012I need to replace the rubber sides on my BB but i don't know anywhere that sells them I've had a look on amazon and ebay and haven't had any luck.

BB Curve :: 8520 Rubber Lining Comes Off
Sep 27, 2011My BB 8520's (IMEI 358472.03.890910.6) rubber lining is of poor quality. Hence the volume button and shortcut buttons on the side have peeled off and other parts of the lining are also tearing off. This is a manufacturing defect. I have checked on google and have seen that there are lot of people complaining of the same problem.

Aug 29, 2010I own a two Blackberry 8520. Almost 1.25 year i bought it. Both mobile has crossed 1year warranty. In Both set the rubber buttons started to fade off... The volume, Voice dialing button is faded off completely with the Cam button on the sides.When I called Redington India Ltd Jaipur & Delhi they told the rubber panel has to be replaced completely and they need to send the phone to Banglore ( Min 10 days of time) and it would cost WOOPING 2500Rs just to replace the rubber coat on the phone! What I would like to know is
1. Why 10 days of service time?
2. If I sell my phone I wouldn't even get 2500Rs now and the repair costs WOOPING 2500rs just to replace the rubber panel on the phone. Is it the right cost given to me?
3. Can the service be done within few hours or 1 or 2 days?( Since its just replacing the rubber panel)
4. Why is the quality of Blackberry 8520 not up to BlackBerry standards? The buttons just fade off what ever is done! Sir. Spending 2500rs for one mobie is very expensive just for the rubber panel.
5. The total cost for both mobile is around Rs 5,000. It is very expensive because in both sets body (front & Back) is OK but rubber panel was fade off.
6. Having such a reputed company the quality of buttons is so poor. Is this a manufacturing Defect?

Jun 23, 2010It is my goal to own two iPhone 4s tomorrow morning at 7am via my local Apple store without a pre-order. However, my girlfriend and I are currently on a Verizon family plan and despite me constantly explaining how the iPhone will be the best investment she will ever make (I even used to have my own iPhone at the same time as the Verizon phone), she still needs more convincing that AT&T is at least pretty similar to Verizon's service and monthly bill.
Shortened story shorter (the point): I'm looking for some type of up-to-date comparison chart/website to compare the two. I tried Google but couldn't find anything worthwhile. I have a feeling if there's anything out there, MR would know.
I just thought of something else. Incase Apple is so busy tonight that they don't want to cancel Verizon and set me up with AT&T until they "officially" open the store (10am), can I still just pay for the two phones and set them up with our old Verizon numbers and new AT&T plan at a later time? Obviously I would do this to insure I have the phones in my possession and won't need to wait until they have new stock.

Aug 9, 2010So I am hoping to catch on as time goes by. As like many people, this is my first smart phone and it's all so new. LOL I do have an ipod touch, but they are very different set up wise, but at least I'm not completely void of technology. I have had it for only a few days and am pleasantly surprised with how easy it is to understand the "basics," like changing themes, ringtones, setting up email, downloading apps, hiding apps, moving items around the menu, making a call, browsing the web (although I get very annoyed with this as my ipod touch is SO fast- oh well), syncing to my contacts, using the camera, saving pics, playing music etc... For a newb like me, I'm happy to be able to all that! I am very happy with this Curve as my introduction to the BB world! HOWEVER- being this is more machine on a phone than I am used to, I am bit concerned with keeping it uncluttered, maintenance (IE breaking it), etc...
I have the standard 2GB micro sd card that came with it from sprint, but I have a brand new 16GB micro SHDC card I want to put in. I know where it goes, I know I have to remove the battery, etc.My question is: "DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO THE PHONE TO PREP IT FOR THIS?" I have looked through the web and found various answers, have learned quickly that Crackberry is the most knowledgeable and the nicest! I have downloaded a few ringtones, but I don't get where they are being stored and how to find out where they are being stored (same goes with themes, pics and wallpapers). I assume they go to my built in phone memory and not my sd card?
Also- since being a mac user, there is not too much I need to do maintenance wise (I have programs that clean up and free space for me, etc.), nor do I have to turn it off often. However, are there certain things I should be doing to this Curve on a daily/weekly basis? I know to close all apps when not using them, as to not drain the battery, and to not have wifi on when not needed, etc... but do I need to shut it off? Am I making sense here? Well, thanks so much you guys are great and fast! I would appreciate a link (if this has already been answered- sorry ) or just a simple answer! I usually ask my husband about this stuff, but I seem to understand more than him! LOL

Jul 12, 2010I am getting a replacement 8530 for my current 8530 because my trackpad is off centered and recently I am now able to move it around. I called verizon explained everything and their answer "software problem, we're sending you a new one under your warranty" Whatever, its physical not software, but they are sending me out a replacement anyways so I dont care.
However, how do I put stuff on the new one? I use blackberry desktop manager, and click "Backup" and it backs up. When I connect the new one do I just click "Restore"? Also when I back up, the tab for contacts is grayed out and I CANNOT click it. So I wont be able to restore that, why?

May 19, 2011The increase (top one) volume button on the side of the phone does not work. The decrease volume button work fine. For example, I open up media player, put on an mp3, but it is too low to be able to hear so I click the volume button to increase it but it just does nothing. Mar 1, 2010Got a problem with my 5800 - just today, the touch screen has started being odd. It sometimes works perfectly but then i try and press a button on the left hand side of the screen and it chooses the one at the right-hand side. This obviously makes everything very difficult!
