BB Curve :: Track Pad Isn't Working Even After Replacement
Dec 27, 2011My Track pad isn't working even after replacement?I have my BB for a over a year. A month back the trackpad started giving me problems (for e.g. freezing, not scrolling to the right or left side) than suddenly after few days my Keypad also konked off and magically my trackpad started working absolutely fine.. I went to the shop where i purchased my BB from and got my KeyPad replaced but as soon as i got back home my Trackpad started giving me problems... I went back to the shop again and got my Trackpad replaced... Still the problem Presits however my keypad is working fine.

Nov 1, 2011I have just had a replacement handset delivered and had to hand over my previous handset.I backed up all my contacts so that i could transfer them to my new phone.
On connecting my phone to desktop manager i got the transfer information from one device to another message. However in then asks me to connect the previous device which i cant not do as my network provider took it.
how i can transfer the back up data onto my new phone.

May 8, 2012Til this week both phones worked great. Made no changes to either of my phones but suddenly first the 3Gs now my Iphone 4 batteries die within 2 hours, just the other day I was getting 2 days on a charge, now 2 hours. What the heck is going on, and what can I do to fix them. One phone is used by a terminal cancer patient who NEEDS the phone (3Gs), this is no good for doctors and nurses if it is dead. Lost important text messages from nurses yesterday involving a doctor appointment that he missed today...

I've heard that charging the battery to full (100%) is not good and that charging all night is harmful to the battery. How is it really like to load to avoid damaging the battery.

Dec 30, 2012I have 2 old nokia 5110 and neither will charge? I have tried 3 different chargers and 4 different batteries but none of them will charge. Not sure what the circuit boards look like when they are normal but am not afraid of a little tinkering if there is a solder I can refresh or any signs of issues or a way to test the batteries without the phones.

BB9900 has a horrible battery life and I'm thinking for a long time to get an extended battery, but till now there was none available. Now there is a 3600mAh [HLI-9900XL] battery and a 1500mAh [HLI-9900SL] battery. So my question would be - has anyone tried these already?
For BB guys, is it safe to use a 3rd party battery in my BB9900? Would it void warranty? I checked them, they produce according to ISO9001 and CE standards.

Aug 9, 2010So I am hoping to catch on as time goes by. As like many people, this is my first smart phone and it's all so new. LOL I do have an ipod touch, but they are very different set up wise, but at least I'm not completely void of technology. I have had it for only a few days and am pleasantly surprised with how easy it is to understand the "basics," like changing themes, ringtones, setting up email, downloading apps, hiding apps, moving items around the menu, making a call, browsing the web (although I get very annoyed with this as my ipod touch is SO fast- oh well), syncing to my contacts, using the camera, saving pics, playing music etc... For a newb like me, I'm happy to be able to all that! I am very happy with this Curve as my introduction to the BB world! HOWEVER- being this is more machine on a phone than I am used to, I am bit concerned with keeping it uncluttered, maintenance (IE breaking it), etc...
I have the standard 2GB micro sd card that came with it from sprint, but I have a brand new 16GB micro SHDC card I want to put in. I know where it goes, I know I have to remove the battery, etc.My question is: "DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO THE PHONE TO PREP IT FOR THIS?" I have looked through the web and found various answers, have learned quickly that Crackberry is the most knowledgeable and the nicest! I have downloaded a few ringtones, but I don't get where they are being stored and how to find out where they are being stored (same goes with themes, pics and wallpapers). I assume they go to my built in phone memory and not my sd card?
Also- since being a mac user, there is not too much I need to do maintenance wise (I have programs that clean up and free space for me, etc.), nor do I have to turn it off often. However, are there certain things I should be doing to this Curve on a daily/weekly basis? I know to close all apps when not using them, as to not drain the battery, and to not have wifi on when not needed, etc... but do I need to shut it off? Am I making sense here? Well, thanks so much you guys are great and fast! I would appreciate a link (if this has already been answered- sorry ) or just a simple answer! I usually ask my husband about this stuff, but I seem to understand more than him! LOL

Sep 24, 2011I got the battery dock on launch day.this morning I realized the battery issues I've been having are due to the dock not fully charging any of the batteries I have put into it! The dock charges them to 90% most of the time--even if they are in the charger for over 9 hours. I just discovered this problem this morning after removing an extended battery after 9 hours of charge, to find it only at 90%. I had the same issue the first day I bought the extended battery and had to complete the charge inside the phone. I also had been having trouble getting the standard batteries fully charged.
I'm going to exchange it at Verizon this morning, but I'm wondering if a new one will be any better.I use a Battery Indicator widget which shows the voltage--that helps me determine precisely how much charge is in each battery. The battery dock barely gets the batteries charged up to 4.1 volts, and sometimes less.they should be charged more than that, along with showing "100%" on the phone's status, of course.

Jan 30, 2010To begin i have a 8350i on boost with the necessary service books i purchased said handset used off of craigslist 7months ago for around 200 hundred bucks worked great a little beat up from use but im a mechanic so it didnt matter,well yesterday the trackball quit working on me no movement and it felt really wierd, tried cleaning it with compressed air no luck, i went to the sprint store where i pay my bill it just happens to be a repair center they told me they couldnt work on it because it was on boost but that they could provide with a new one for only 100 dlls i jumped on it,, tell me what u guys think was it too much or was it a good deal?

Jul 12, 2010I am getting a replacement 8530 for my current 8530 because my trackpad is off centered and recently I am now able to move it around. I called verizon explained everything and their answer "software problem, we're sending you a new one under your warranty" Whatever, its physical not software, but they are sending me out a replacement anyways so I dont care.
However, how do I put stuff on the new one? I use blackberry desktop manager, and click "Backup" and it backs up. When I connect the new one do I just click "Restore"? Also when I back up, the tab for contacts is grayed out and I CANNOT click it. So I wont be able to restore that, why?

Mar 16, 2010After a bad experience with an 'authorized' Nokia service centre, I am now in the need to replace my display.
After the repair of the USB hatch, the display gave a problem - and when we told them they seem to have fitted a different display. The display now goes completely dark whenever the backlight is off, and also has very bad legibility in daylight even with backlight.
I don't really trust the service centre anymore, and am going to replace the display myself. I want to ask my friends around if they are dumping any compatible phone - so that I can use their display. Do you know if there are any other phones where same display as N82 is used?

I was told that Apple will give me a replacement phone for much cheaper than a new one. This seems too good to be true, as I've had the phone for more than a year and therefore it's past the warrantee expiration.
