Does Apple give you a hard time if you are getting a replacement for a replacement phone? I swapped mine for a battery issue but I am now having proximity / dropped call issues pretty bad... which I didn't have before. Will they give me a hard time if I want to try another replacement? Anyone get more than 1 replacement from the Genius bar?
I have contact list with records for a lot of people (300+), each with several phone numbers each, home, mobile & work, etc, .I can't seem to find a way to have the iPhone announce the name & number or name & type (home, mobile, work) of the caller from the contact list, my old cell phone could do that easily.
At the moment what I've been doing as a work around for a few (important) people is to create a custom ringtone for that caller & that phone number. Since it also seems there's no way to attach a different ringtones to each number in a single contact record I've had to create multiple contact records for each person, each with a different name/number combination such as "John Doe Work", "John Doe Home" or John Doe Mobile" then assign to it the custom ringtone I created for that name/number.
I need to this so that if I receive a call while I'm driving (or whatever) that I can't answer right then for some reason (often happens), the ringtone I created for that name & number helpfully lets me know who & where their calling from. It's very important to know where someone is calling from, if someone's calling from home then I know I've got some time, but if their calling from work then I need to get back to them quickly.
having to make multiple contacts & ringtones for a every person with multiple numbers is a extraordinary waste of time. My old cell phone could do this with no problem but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this with my new iphone.
I recieved my 9650 this morning.I setup 2 email addresses (that actually were moved from my curve to my bold), and all of my emails are dumping into ONE folder i hate it. I liked on my curve how I had 2 distinct seperate email icons (boxes) that had work and personal. How do I setup my phone to have multiple icons for my multiple email accounts?
In september I bought an 8330 curve. It worked great, and other than a few small things (not comfirming bbm contacts) it worked awesome, solid, never unstable. The screen started to have bubbles on the inside of it, so I took it in on warranty, and was given a new one AFTER I was sent home to make a backup. I get the new phone, came directly home and reloaded the backup. The next day, it started randomly rebooting. Even if it was just sitting there.
Sunday it shut off and when it tried to restart it just went to JVM error 102. If you reset it or did a hard reset it would always go to JVM error 102 when it tried to boot. I was out of town, and use my phone for work, so I was tickled pink, since its supposedly brand new.
Monday night they give me a new one AGAIN because nobody at the store can seem to fix it or figure it out. I go home, reload my data, wich is now a week old, and within a few hours it randomly starts rebooting agian. Then it wouldnt start, just flash the red LED, wich it did regardless of how many times I tried a hard restart. Eventualy this morning after 8 hours of flashing the red LED, I did a hard restart and it work.
I don't download apps. I use the phone, text, email, and I email pictures to my boss. Its the main reason i have a BB, so I dont get killed on MMS message charges, I just have unlimited email and I send the pics on email. The odd time I browse. And I don't do any of the things ppl talk about on crackberry where they are farting around doing things they arent supposed to and thier phone crashes. Any idea why my "new" curves keep doing this? 3rd one in 5 months, and 2 of them in the last week.
Apps? The ones that come on the phone from the factory. I live in terror that any thing else will brick my curve. I even talk nice to it.
I have a 32GB 3GS and I just got off the phone with customer service and the iPhone 4 isn't getting released. The rep on the phone told me that they're out of stock of 3GS phones, but my replacement would be shipped whenever they receive more. However, I know the local Rogers stores won't be getting anymore 32GB 3GS model in since we're so close to the new one coming out, is there anyway that they'd give me an iPhone as a replacement? Maybe if I renewed my contract?
i went to get my iphone 4s replaced. but It is brand new and seaded. After 2 days using it. I found that mine has a few tiny dust under the screen and i have made an appointment at Genius Bar. When i get there could i ask them for the brand new iphone 4s instead of a refurb like many people said. Cos i don't want to spend my money on a refurb one.
I dropped my iPhone 4 and the screen shattered. It still technically works, but it's kind of hard to see what I'm doing. I was told that Apple will give me a replacement phone for much cheaper than a new one. This seems too good to be true, as I've had the phone for more than a year and therefore it's past the warrantee expiration.
I just got a new iPhone 4S and since my old iPhone 4 had a few issues I took it to an Apple store where they offered to replace it for $149. So I did it.But now when I call AT&T to unlock my iPhone 4 so that I can use it with other carriers they say the phone is not in their data base.how can I fix that?
I replaced the battery in my 16gb 3g and in the process of doing so broke the ring in the wifi cable where it is screwed to the housing after assembling everything, checking, double checking. iPhone will not turn on at all. At first I got a little red line showing a dead battery when I plugged it in, but I couldn't get it to turn on (pushed power and home button together, tried dfu etc etc). Opened it again to double check other cable connections, now it doesn't even show this red battery line anymore.
Does this cable just affect the antenna or could it have disrupted the whole iPhone from turning on?
last week, my friend dropped my phone without it's case on a tennis court. Now the back is moving. It's weird.. It feels like whenever I touch it, the whole glass plate is going to fall off. There are many scratches on my phone and it has green and red marks all over it from the court because it scratched my phone. This is bad because it's white.I want a new phone, but my warranty ended. While I had my warranty though, I dropped my phone and I took it to the apple store and they gave me a replacement for free.So.. How much is a new white iPhone 4S without a warranty?
I had replaced the screen once, then it was working fine for a day, the next day it went gray, the screen has a gray scaling on it, then later on it just went to blank screen into white. I tried many things but it didn't work therefore I replaced the screen the second time then it started working again, but after a few hours it went off to black screen and the phone heated up soo high, since then its not turning on, I have had the battery replaced but its still not turning on.
I have just had a replacement phone and was led to believe that my texts and photo's were backed up and although I can see that I have used up 1.7gb of the 5 gb space in iCloud I can not find a way of re-syncing these items back to my iPhone. It has pulled back my notes and calendar items but these are not the equivelant of 1.7gb.
My iphone 4 has been dropped and maincard damaged . I sent it to a local service to check it out because it was out of warranty. So they told me that to send it to authorized service to replace. I sent it to authorized service and they refused replacement because i bought it from other country and also opened by another un authorized iphone service. Yes i made a mistake and gave it another service for repair. Should i throw it to the garbage? I trust apple to help me to recover my iphone at any cost..
1. Home button only works after pressing it about 6 times really hard (currently have the accessability enabled) and my biggest issue
2. Volume for music playback not working well at times
3. Wifi signal weak even when sitting next to the router.
I have tried all the standard things to rectify the above issues including vacuuming the charge port with no luck.I will send it in for a replacement and am quite happy to pay. To choose the 'replace battery option' is around £62.44 and to choose the 'home button not working' option is around £126.44. If the phone gets replaced anyway, could I choose the replace battery option for 1/2 the price when they replace the whole phone anyway?Im not a total cheepo, and I buy apple products frequently for personal and business but naturally I would try to get away with the £62.44 option if I could.
what should i do if the iphone 4 brand new just replaced for the old one and turn out problem with microphone not functioning and apple technician support tell me come n connect to the itune .
My sister has a jailbroken iphone 2g on 3.0 firmware. We purchased the iphone when it first launched a few years ago. As of now, her phone's battery drains out very rapidly, even though she charged it for over a night. I am pretty sure the cause of the problem is from the old battery. My question is: is it worth the money and risk to change the battery, or should we just consider purchasing her a new iphone 3gs? Oh by the way, we live in China.
I had two 3g iPhones and this is my second 3gs. This new replacement screen is picking up little micro scratches like crazy. My old one was naked for 6 months with no scratches at all and ditto on the 3g phones.
My iPhone 3G developed a crack in the plastic casing on the backside right at the bottom (by the connector at the bottom). I've heard that this is a design fault and happens to a lot of iPhones, and that (if it's within warranty!) going into an Apple store and complaining will get you a brand new one to walk out with.
The problem I have is that the good is no longer under warranty, but I've only had it for a little longer than a year and the fault developed well before that. I'm asking more for UK members here who know what recourse I have here - is it worth mentioning to the staff there that the Sales of Goods Act says that a mobile telephone should last much longer than the one year warranty, and as such they're obliged to replace it? Will they even have 3G's in stock as they no longer sell this model?
I did an advanced replacement for my iphone 4, but right now I'm on a road trip. Would getting an advanced replacement require a signature from UPS/USPS? I'm from the US.
I never thought I would drop my iphone 4 ever. I had it unknowingly on my lap, as I was getting out the car it flew in the air and landed on the back. The back of the phones glass is shattered but luckily no pieces fell off. Does anyone know of a legit back replacement I can use? I want to get a whole new backing for it with the pentalobe screw driver. I just don't know if I am getting scammed since there are so many fakes that distribute them. I was also wondering if there is a very cheap alternative to just buying a thin plastic case and placing it over the broken glass. The case would have to go over the back only since I hate extra bulk.
so in the beginning of march, my little brother (he's 2) was sick and cranky. i watched a couple of videos on Internet with him, but i had to remove my iphone 4 case (speck) because it kept on interferring with my internet connection (not the first time either!!!). that was probably a bad idea, because when i had tried to take the phone from him when someone was calling, he threw it on the floor. it landed on the back, and now the back glass is shattered. the phone works fine, and my stupid case covers the crack, but i really want to know the cost of getting it replaced in canada. i hear its only 29$, but i want to make sure.
I have an iPhone 4S that was recently unlocked by AT&T. Unfortunately, it's developed an issue where all the radios cut out if I talk on the phone for more than a few minutes. Assuming I can get this replaced by Apple, would my unlock carry over to the new phone? It was hard enough getting AT&T to unlock this phone, I'm not sure if theyd do it if they can't verify the IMEI was the same one that I purchased.
My hard drive crashed. No back up of Itunes. Put new drive in and downloaded Itunes. Now when I sync all my programs will not transfer to the new hard drive. Also, under general settngs/itunes wi-fi sync/ there are 2 names both corespond to my computer. One I synced with all programs and data dated April 25, 2012. It is greyed out when I try to sync. The 2nd identity (smae name) dated today syncs but only minimal cell phone info is backed up. I deleted Itunes and reinstalled again. Still the same problem. How do I get Itunes to back up everything?
I have a white iPhone 4. It's out of warranty, and the screen broke, so I got it replaced, however ever since my signal keeps on dropping (I seemed to have fixed it by resetting network settings) but when I put it in my pocket and take it out, it's always searching for network. However that's not my problem, ever since I got the screen replaced my 3G doesn't work, it doesn't detect 3G at all and it's all enabled. I tested my sim in my other phone and 3G works fine, I did let the shop know who replaced my screen so they will be looking into it, however I wanted to find out how much an out of warranty iphone would cost if I took this to apple?
