I got a contract iPhone 4s with Orange UK locked with the operator. As I need to visit India and was a gift for someone I did not open the box and unlocked outside (As operator will not unlock untill 3 monthes) by just giving IMEI no.After unboxing, when we tried to use an Indian operator sim card , it did not work with the message showing please use authorised sim card. Afterwards,I tried my other O2 UK sim card which worked perfectly with configuring IPhone as it was just using first time. Now, when I am trying my Orange sim card which came with phone or any other sim card, it does not working.Shold I swith to 5.1.1 or?Does it properly unlock?

The rep on the phone told me that they're out of stock of 3GS phones, but my replacement would be shipped whenever they receive more. However, I know the local Rogers stores won't be getting anymore 32GB 3GS model in since we're so close to the new one coming out, is there anyway that they'd give me an iPhone as a replacement? Maybe if I renewed my contract?

Both vehicles see and pair with the phone as before, but when I receive or make calls the audio only comes through the phone - nothing through the speakers. Also, no one can hear me speaking unless i speak into the phone. I've noticed a few threads about problems with Ford MySync but neither car is a Ford. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix?

I recently bought an iphone with the sole purpose of being able to use the facetime function (as my family life on the other side of the world) I admit I hadn't done alot of reserch into the subject but was very suprised to realise that bluetooth on an iphone doesn't function as bluetooth does on any other mobile I have used. Will this ever change? My major issue is not the file sharing (which I'll just have to cut back on) but the hands free option of using bluetooth in my VW. I have a iPhone 4S, when I brought it after Christmas it connected to my 'Virgin Media wifi'instantly and game me the full 60 meg speed. As time has gone by, and multiple wifi routers replaced (thought it was initially the router) the iPhone is now struggling to connect and when it does its speed is less than using and EDGE conection. Of I reset the conection settings it works well again but after a week or so it will deteriorate back to how it was before he restart. I'm not sure if this is an ongoing problem with the hardware or if the software doesn't like virgin media as all other makes of phone and laptop will happily connect to my wifi with decent speeds.P.S. I have restarted the router multiple times

I found that mine has a few tiny dust under the screen and i have made an appointment at Genius Bar. When i get there could i ask them for the brand new iphone 4s instead of a refurb like many people said. Cos i don't want to spend my money on a refurb one.

I dropped my iPhone 4 and the screen shattered. It still technically works, but it's kind of hard to see what I'm doing. I was told that Apple will give me a replacement phone for much cheaper than a new one. Just got new iPhones a couple of months ago. Up until now everything was great. Now when I put a call on speakerphone, the other party can't hear me at all. If I blow into the mic, they can hear that, but they can't hear me talk. I've cleaned the mesh with a soft, dry toothbrush as suggested, made sure that the volume didn't read "headset", turned the volume up, turned the phone off-on, made sure nothing else was blocking the mesh over the mic, etc.
The really weird thing is that I was able to record a "Voice Memo" which uses the same mic and the recording sounded just fine.
So, is it hardware or is it software? Doesn't seem to be hardware since I can record a "Voice Memo" with no problem and I can also communicate with Siri just fine. It seems that the problem only happens when using the phone speakerphone feature.

The problem with my phone is that it was working last night and now it wont turn on ive tried everything i can think of holding the home and power button for 20 seconds did nothing charging it did nothing the only thing that my phone is able to do is go into DFU mode and then it will put me in recovery mode during recovery mode my phone wont do anything it will just remain a black screen finally while itunes says waiting for iphone during recovery a error will pop up it is called error 4005.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI replaced the battery in my 16gb 3g and in the process of doing so broke the ring in the wifi cable where it is screwed to the housing after assembling everything, checking, double checking. iPhone will not turn on at all. At first I got a little red line showing a dead battery when I plugged it in, but I couldn't get it to turn on (pushed power and home button together, tried dfu etc etc). Opened it again to double check other cable connections, now it doesn't even show this red battery line anymore.
Does this cable just affect the antenna or could it have disrupted the whole iPhone from turning on?
