Since practically new I've noticed that when I make a call and use speaker phone the proximity sensor (dull rapidly flashing red light) turns on but doesn't function during a call, when the call is ended the proximity sensor is still turned on until I either restart the phone or make a call without speakerphone and end it. Making a call without speaker phone the proximity sensor functions correctly and turns off when the call is ended.
I have asked HTC support about this, they have recommended clearing cache partition through boot menu and clearing HTC sense app data, neither have worked and they are now suggesting the phone be sent for repair. Would you agree that this could be a hardware issue or is it more likely a software issue since proximity sensor functions normally unless the speaker phone is used?

I have noticed since updating to iOS 5.1 that the volume slider in the Music app sometimes displays the "speaker" level during "earphone" playback when switching between the two modes.
Although the slider displays the incorrect volume level, the playback is at the earphone setting's volume, not the displayed volume.
N.B. I have an iPhone 3GS, and the performance of the Music app has degraded with each iOS update; this seems to be due to the core software growing more complex. It is possible that there is just a very long delay between loading the Music app, it recognising the earphones are plugged in, and the volume slider widget being updated accordingly. I will report back with more clarification after more observation.

So I realized that the application memory gradually decrease. It does not gain the memory back when I delete the apps. I don't understand but my application memory is under 10 mb. Yes it is very low. I think that's one reason why my bb curve 3g has been slowing. If there is a way to gain the application memory, that'd be such a great help.Because I don't know how to gain back the application memory, I was thinking to reset the phone to factory setting? I know how to pick calls since I just have to swipe at the bottom so I know the touch works and everything works. I get notification tones too. I tried to shut it off and maybe start it again but I don't know how to do it since i'll have to confirm by tapping the screen which I cant see anything on.
I have done the volume keys and home key tricks. phone restarts perfectly but with a blank / black screen like before. it was hot but now cool. screen is still off. I left to charge earlier before the fateful call so I don't know if maybe its over charged. but it seems everything is working but I cant see anything on my screen. its as if the phone has been switched off screen wise.
