I know this is everywhere, but my case is different. I had problems with my lockscreen which never turned off. I went to another forum and asked for tips, they said to Reset All settings (not erase all content). I did that, and guess what, it is stuck in the apple logo and sometimes with the spinning wheel. Now I CANNOT go into DFU mode because I do not have a backup of anything and if I restore im screwed and all my apps, contact, etc. will go away. I have access to the iPhone system folders (iFunbox, diskaid, etc.)

Just had something start happening, and I have 2 new accessories I have been using, and I have not had a chance to properly debug the issue. I have had the setting to keep screen on when charging set since it was "discovered". This morning I noticed my screen was shutting off when playing pandora and while charging, and that the setting had gotten turned off. My 2 new accessories are a Motorola SD10 bluetooth headphones (I really like these), and a navigation dock. I am thinking the navigation dock is the most likely culprit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen Motorola updated the software on my cell phone late last night, it reset my Droid X2. I woke up this morning to a cell phone that no longer had any of my contacts, calendar, email accounts, sound settings, previous text messages, call history, downloaded applications, and icons on my 5 screens that took me a month to set up to my preferences. Verizon Wireless CONFIRMED that Motorola performed a software update after midnight on 7/20/12. When I re-setup my google email account, my contacts and calendar were back, but EVERYTHING else is gone or needs to be re-installed and re-setup. I called Motorola support, but they provided no help or explanation. The support supervisor kept asking me if someone at my residence reset my phone (that would be quite a coincidence to occur on the very night that Motorola performed a software upgrade).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI picked up my phone to make a call and noticed it looked VERY different, different splash screen, apps lined up differently, etc.
When I went to look for an app, I noticed they were all gone. Somehow, my phone reset itself and I lost everything -- all installed apps, phone lists, everything.
Is there anyway to go back to a state that existed before this? FWIW, I live in Guangzhoung...and the only thing I did that was even remotely different was I reloaded the phone (china unicomm).
When trying to sync my new phone to my car's SYNC, I have somehow lost all my contacts. I have the phone backed up in iCloud and need to know which restore option to use. The "Erase all Content and Settings" or "Reset all Settings". I do not have my contacts backed up to Outlook or anything because I thought iCloud was enough.

I have reset my iPhone 5S, and my iMessage wont activate. I have my cellular data on, my wifi is working, everything is fine. I try to turn on iMessage, and it only works with my two emails. i use the emails for my iPads iMessage, and i do not want the same send/receive for my iPhone and iPad. i want to use my number for iMessage on my phone, but when i try to tap the number as a send/receive option, its grayed out and not an option. i have the latest software and everything, but it just wont activate.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat does the "Reset Network Settings" option do? I found this suggestion under the "calls connection issues" topic and all it says is that it will "clear current cellular and Wi-Fi network settings, saved networks, Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings" but doesn't go into any details of what happens next. Will the phone just automatically reassign the proper settings or will I have a dead phone? I'm on Verizon and have iPhone 4S, OS 5.1 The reason I went looking is because when I first got the iPhone in Jan 2012, I would have issues with calls going straight to voicemail even though my phone was on and showing strong reception. The phone wouldn't ring or anything and then I wouldn't get my VM messages until hours later. This would also happen with text messages. I didn't even know there was an issue, nothing on the phone indicated anything like missed calls or bad/no connection, and would only find out when friends told me or I'd listen to the VM. And it didn't happen all the time just every now and again.
So I had to call Verizon several times and on the last call they refreshed my network line, so I didn't have to do a phone wipe/reset, and that seemed to do the trick. But just today I discovered that now calls are just ringing, but not ringing on my handset. So I have to dial *832 to test the line, which passes, and then everything is fine again:calls come through, and all texts that were held in purgatory while this anomaly happens, come through immediately. So I'm wondering if resetting the network will solve my issue. Is anyone experiencing the same? BTW, yes, I've checked the most obvious thing, and no, I do not have my ringer silenced, off, or have the switch on red.
I reset my iPhone 4 to factory settings. Now the home screen is grey with the work iPhone. No USB plug, no apple logo.
Did I miss a step. I want to sell my phone and don't want any of my info to go with it...
I did that but i can see only apple logo and batter charging signal so how to restart now

So, as per my wife's advice, I did 'Reset all settings'. This scared me...did I lose my media. I have tons of videos and pictures of my son. I didn't want to lose them. So, I jsut stopped proceeding.
