BB Curve :: How To Reset The Phone To The Orignal Settings
Jun 6, 2011
I've had my curve since Dec of 2010 and I recently moved and had to change my cell number, and now my emails arn't coming through, and I want to know how to reset the phone to the orignal settings.
I brought a blackberry off a friend but her name still aappear's in the message bit and her email address's are still on the phone. How do i reset the phone to factory settings?
When Motorola updated the software on my cell phone late last night, it reset my Droid X2. I woke up this morning to a cell phone that no longer had any of my contacts, calendar, email accounts, sound settings, previous text messages, call history, downloaded applications, and icons on my 5 screens that took me a month to set up to my preferences. Verizon Wireless CONFIRMED that Motorola performed a software update after midnight on 7/20/12. When I re-setup my google email account, my contacts and calendar were back, but EVERYTHING else is gone or needs to be re-installed and re-setup. I called Motorola support, but they provided no help or explanation. The support supervisor kept asking me if someone at my residence reset my phone (that would be quite a coincidence to occur on the very night that Motorola performed a software upgrade).
Is there a way to really reset the BB to the factory settings?I am running 5.0x firmware, and the Options/ Security Options/ General Settings/ Menu/ Wipe Handheld function is not present anymore! (I saw it when I had 4.6.x..)So I tried this (from Mac, as on XP I can't locate the loader.exe file): http://www.blackberry.com /btsc/ search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB18998 but it actually did not really clean my BB, it kept for example all the apps I installed which are the reason why I would like to reset the BB! it also kept the 5.0.x firmware, while when I got the BB it had the 4.6.x firmware. I really would like to go back to the original status. any suggestions?
I picked up my phone to make a call and noticed it looked VERY different, different splash screen, apps lined up differently, etc.
When I went to look for an app, I noticed they were all gone. Somehow, my phone reset itself and I lost everything -- all installed apps, phone lists, everything.
Is there anyway to go back to a state that existed before this? FWIW, I live in Guangzhoung...and the only thing I did that was even remotely different was I reloaded the phone (china unicomm).
Everyone says go to options - security options - general options - wipe handheld.
When I go to security options, all the options I have are: Advanced Security Options Encryption Firewall Information Security Wipe
I have been reading that the security wipe won't get rid of everything. When I go into security wipe, it says if I wipe "Emails, Contacts, etc." you will not be able to send or receive email on the device after you wipe it.
Does that mean on this phone ever again, or just from the email addresses I am wiping?
A friend gave me their old Blackberry but it was used for his work email and was set up with a password just to access the phone. He doesn't remember the password. I put a new sim card in, but is still asking for the password. We tried 4 different ones. On the 5th it warns you that your program will be deleted. We haven't tried the 5th password. It we do will it erase information in the sim card?
Is there a way to clear everything out of memory and reset the Blackberry to it original defalut settings.I tried pulling out the battery with the phone on, but that doesn't do any good.
Sow I had a curve 9360 but I lost it and just bought another one but used one but this one is really different then the one I had for example I did a complete wipe and ones it started back up I automatically ask for a password I put one in and it gets it but it has to be some amount of character. And I when on to the password settings and its locked to be on u cant disable it and some settings are like that as well and it has a little lock next to it that it can't be change the setting . Why is this one like this also in the manage connection screen it has mobile hotspots and near field communication and that my old one didn't have?
I have a Blackberry curve 9300. My phone randomly reset itself, and on doing so, crashed half way through, displaying 'KVM error 528'. I have plugged my phone into my PC and it won't read it. What do I do? I need my phone for work. I can live with everything being wiped because I can reinstall everything during the day tomorrow but I need it for my business.

Just wondering if there was any way to return the phone to the factory installed settings, I am having alot of issues and this seems to be the best way to fix them all at the same time.
I want to format my phone for that I went to erase all data and restore settings .now it's more than 2 hours it's still processing with a small round circle with black screen.
I was playin with my girl's phone tryin to guess her password and after too many attempts the phone seems to have factory reset. The pictures are still loaded so I believe the SD card wasn't reformatted. How do I reset it?
my Ray's sound settings(notification, phone ringtone, individual caller ringtones n message ringtone) gets reset to default everytime i switch off my phone and restart.Even the icons in the folders which i created on the homescreen too gets changed frequently.
What does the "Reset Network Settings" option do? I found this suggestion under the "calls connection issues" topic and all it says is that it will "clear current cellular and Wi-Fi network settings, saved networks, Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings" but doesn't go into any details of what happens next. Will the phone just automatically reassign the proper settings or will I have a dead phone? I'm on Verizon and have iPhone 4S, OS 5.1 The reason I went looking is because when I first got the iPhone in Jan 2012, I would have issues with calls going straight to voicemail even though my phone was on and showing strong reception. The phone wouldn't ring or anything and then I wouldn't get my VM messages until hours later. This would also happen with text messages. I didn't even know there was an issue, nothing on the phone indicated anything like missed calls or bad/no connection, and would only find out when friends told me or I'd listen to the VM. And it didn't happen all the time just every now and again.
So I had to call Verizon several times and on the last call they refreshed my network line, so I didn't have to do a phone wipe/reset, and that seemed to do the trick. But just today I discovered that now calls are just ringing, but not ringing on my handset. So I have to dial *832 to test the line, which passes, and then everything is fine again:calls come through, and all texts that were held in purgatory while this anomaly happens, come through immediately. So I'm wondering if resetting the network will solve my issue. Is anyone experiencing the same? BTW, yes, I've checked the most obvious thing, and no, I do not have my ringer silenced, off, or have the switch on red.
