I have 2 old nokia 5110 and neither will charge? I have tried 3 different chargers and 4 different batteries but none of them will charge. Not sure what the circuit boards look like when they are normal but am not afraid of a little tinkering if there is a solder I can refresh or any signs of issues or a way to test the batteries without the phones.
View 2 RepliesI have a Nokia BH-505stereo bluetooth headset, but it only works with my Nokia phones C7 and N900, not with a PC.I can establish a connection to my PCs, but there's no sound coming from the headset, instead it keeps coming from the PC's loudspeakers.I have 1 desktop PC (+bluetooth dongle) dual booting Windows XP and LInux Mint Debian Edition , and a laptop (bt built-in) dual booting Win 7 and Lubuntu 12.04 - the problem is the same on all 4 OSs.

Some of the bugs are so blatantly obvious typing lags dreadful Bluetooth performance and that awful proximity sensor bug. I waited several weeks after US launch mainly to allow all bugs to be ironed out but that didn't work. Cmon apple get your finger out. You dropped the ball on this one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a really weird and annoying problem with my Lumia 800.Pretty much it starts with this:The phone totally random powers off, it wont start until i put the charger in (even if the battery really is at 40% or more).After that whenever I receive a text message (sms and mms) it won't be listed in the messaging conversation. I only see the last sms I sent/got after the phone powered off, new messages is listed in the notification window, but only there. Sending new messages works, but they won't either be listed..So I can't really read my new texts other than in the notification window that pops up when I get a new one.Deleting all my messages doesn't solve it, restarting the phone doesn't either.

I've heard that charging the battery to full (100%) is not good and that charging all night is harmful to the battery. How is it really like to load to avoid damaging the battery.

BB9900 has a horrible battery life and I'm thinking for a long time to get an extended battery, but till now there was none available. Now there is a 3600mAh [HLI-9900XL] battery and a 1500mAh [HLI-9900SL] battery. So my question would be - has anyone tried these already?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a red 920.So I charged my battery to 100% and took it off the charger. This was in the middle of the night (yes, I'm a night owl). But I did it because I wanted to test it with absolutely no use. So I set the wifi to always on and left the phone. four hours later I checked the battery. It was down to 60%. This was after absolutely no use. The only thing I have is two email accounts set to fetch every hour.
i then recharged to 100% again, changed the wifi settings back to the original setting and left it for another 4 hours. The battery was down to 63%. Not that much different from setting wifi to always on.However, previously my phone would lose at most 1% after idle for even 8 hours. As I stated my battery life has always been very good.the only difference was the OS update, no new apps, no setting changes, etc. I have to assume it was the update. I know it's not really scientific and partially anecdotal but it is what it is.
I got the battery dock on launch day.this morning I realized the battery issues I've been having are due to the dock not fully charging any of the batteries I have put into it! The dock charges them to 90% most of the time--even if they are in the charger for over 9 hours. I just discovered this problem this morning after removing an extended battery after 9 hours of charge, to find it only at 90%. I had the same issue the first day I bought the extended battery and had to complete the charge inside the phone. I also had been having trouble getting the standard batteries fully charged.
I'm going to exchange it at Verizon this morning, but I'm wondering if a new one will be any better.I use a Battery Indicator widget which shows the voltage--that helps me determine precisely how much charge is in each battery. The battery dock barely gets the batteries charged up to 4.1 volts, and sometimes less.they should be charged more than that, along with showing "100%" on the phone's status, of course.
I recently purchased an apple battery charger, and I would like to know how long the battery charger takes it charge the batteries form nearly empty. Also if the battery charger can overcharge the batteries. And whether the batteries that are included are charged ready to go.

Someone got a brandnew N97 from O2 in Germany. The interesting thing is the packages says "Made in China". My own N97 was made in Finland, as expected. Does Nokia really assemble some N97 in China? Or could this be a faked phone!? But I do not expect O2 to sell faked phones. What does Nokia say about this? Here you can see a picture of the package:

My carrier is TMobile in the US. I like them as a a carrier, but what's a bit annoying is the lack of phones supporting 3G on TMO. I'm limited to a few models only, mostly directly from them.Does anybody know what the chances are that this will change in the future? That Nokia will have more models with compatible bands? Or will this particular band always be left as a **bleep**, mere afterthought of a band?

I want to find the easiest way of transferring all my music that's currently on the N96 to the X6. I've got 6,200 tracks to move so i don't really want to start from scratch.

It was just officially annouced by Microsoft 40 minutes ago at the Windows Phone Summit that current windows phones would get WP 7.8 update with some features of WP8 but not WP8 itself.
The biggest worry is that WP8 will allow native code for apps, and that many apps will thus not work on "older" phones.
The Lumia 900 is only a few months old and the 800 and 710 and 610 are not much older (all are less than 9 months on the market), but they will not be getting Windows Phone 8 update just like all first generation Windows Phones. Nokia must have known for some time as well that current Lumia buyers would not get WP8 update, this seems unfair especially for Lumia 900 buyers.
How does Nokia plan to make this more fair for current Lumia users?
I just bought a Volvo V50 with an installed car kit by the previous owner (presumable around mid 2007 if relevant). As my Nokia 6210 just broke, I'd like to replace it by a phone that best fits with the carkit. THe kit seems to be the CK-7W as is have the remote button as with the CK-7W. The phone holder is the CR56. What confuses me is that there is a fixed (standard) cable connection at the bottom of the phoneholder and also a separate micro USB now hanging just out of the dashboard, near the left side of the phone holder. As if it should be connected to the Nokia phone on the left side. With the kit there is a wired microphone and an external loudspeaker.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received a N97 today(from out my country). I put my sim in, i can recive or make calls, however many of the phones menu options are missing. There is no wifi menu, when i tried to connect via Suite, phone didn't show me suite, in mass storage usb it shows me total memory is less than 1 mega, and when i try to enter other applications like "My Nokia" i get "Not allowed now" message. Is the phone locked or something? Can i fix it or should i take it to a service?
