Aug 13, 2010I lost the little eloastomeric (EPDM, BUNA?) cover for the micro USB port. SE support says replacements are unavailable. I'm sure there were millions of the components molded at the OEM manufacturer. Anyone know where to get Sony Ericsson parts?

Jul 17, 2010I could not find a rubber cover/case. I bought the plastic hard rubber item that is fake paint that looks like rubber and scrapes off real easy. The plastic underneath is white so it looks like crap after a few weeks.

Jun 2, 2010I have recently purchased this 9700 (3 weeks ago) and am generally very pleased with the device. BUT If I leave the BB 9700 connected overnight to the computers USB Port for charging, and, obviously, after a few hours the computer will go to sleep, thus turning off the power to the USB port In the morning I find that the BB is: Off and will not turn on, unless it is power reset. In other words I have to open up the back and pull the battery for a second then after It is put back in the red light will display nevertheless it will turn on and be fine once it boots back up. There are no other indications or problems. I notice that other people have similar complaints with their BB's.

Jul 5, 2012I bought a Blackberry Curve 8520 6 months ago, which is under a year-long warranty, from Carphone Warehouse. A month ago, the Blackberry stopped being able to charge so I took it into the shop and the phone was inspected, and I was informed the phone would be fixed under the manufacturers warranty and returned within 2 weeks. Exactly 2 weeks later I was told to collect my phone as it was fixed and it had been returned UNFIXED as I was told the damage was NOT covered by the warranty, after being initially informed it was. What has happened is one of the prong inside the micro USB port has broken off so the phone won't charge. This has also happened to a friend of mine, so surely it is down to faulty materials? I don't understand why this is not covered by the warranty.
I was wondering if Blackberry themselves would be able to fix my phone (as Carphone Warehouse are refusing to, unless i pay £170 - more than the phone is worth. I have taken this up further with them but have constantly received poor customer service and am not willing to deal with them anymore).

Apr 27, 2010I'm updating my Bold to the latest OS and I get to the Application Loader then it goes to communication port selection but the field is blank. Any idea what to do? I remember doing something with my old curve like rebooting it then plugging it back in in a certain time but I can't find anything about that anymore. So, any ideas?

So, 2 months ago, We went to the local Nokia Care Point (there is only one in Guadeloupe). We went today to this shop to have news about my mobile and, the guy explained me that the nokia's factory bring them up the phone and could'n repair it... He gave me back my phone, but he didn't give me back my poor little micro-USB port.
So, I have 2 questions :
First : what are the solutions proposed by Nokia for the customers in French West Indies (Guadeloupe and Martinique) ?
Second : why do you propose low quality services for us (comparatively with "normal" customers from France) ?
BB Curve :: 9300 With Broken Micro SD Port?
Jun 1, 2012My daughter dropped her 9300 and broke the screen. A friend said if she got a new one on eBay he'd fix it, which he did. It appears whilst disassembling it to do so he managed to pull the micro SD reader, port, whatever it's called - off. Totally off, it is now no longer attached to anything and the pins it should have slotted onto were all bent out of shape. I tried to straighten them and they came off as well!Is this repairable or are we looking at a new phone?

Jan 29, 2010Ok, before you trolls all rabidly defend RIM and jump on me with fingers pointed, yes I dropped the phone and it's all my fault, I didn't stick the phone in a vault until my protective case arrived, etc. etc. there I said it, now you don't have to. Last night around 9pm, I picked up a gorgeous blackberry bold 9700 from walmart for cheap money, an upgrade. 13 hours later, I dropped it, tried to catch it with my foot, and like skipping a rock across a pond, kicked it across my client's driveway full of sharp rocks, face down. Awesome.So now I have these scratches in my screen. Superficial maybe, but even though the LCD itself is perfectly fine (all my pixels are in good order), I have to spend $130+shipping to buy a new LCD unit, just because there's no separate screen cover anymore? That's what it seems like after checking the parts sites.
I noticed right away that the screen on the 9700 is right up front instead of set back behind an extra piece of plastic. I can press pretty hard on my curve 8310's screen without getting funky colors out of the LCD (I think I'd break the screen cover before the LCD would even flinch), but the 9700's screen is very sensitive to pressure.I don't know why RIM would brilliantly cover up their LCD units with hard, replaceable screen covers for years, one of the nicest features of their rugged phones, I thought, then go and do this to me. Yes, you heard right, it's all about me.Any comments? Suggestions? Tell me I'm wrong and show me how I CAN replace the screen cover without replacing the LCD unit? After scouring parts sites, doesn't look like I can.
BB Bold 9700 :: Faulty Jack Port
Jul 17, 2010I have a 9700 and over the last 2 days when I try to make a call the phone switches between headphones and headset and if I try to select options and activate headset the phone completely ignores the request and keeps switching between functions , the only way I can make a call is to put ipod headphones into the jack port and then I can select activate handset and the phone will let me make a call normally , however if I pull the headphones out during a call it will start to switch between functions again .

I took it back to US Cellular and they wanted $50-$150 bucks to fix it with there own techs, and I also pay for the cell protection, they want $100 bucks to replace it.

Mar 20, 2010So I have finally gotten my parts from sw-box and I was excited (matte black bezel + top cover + new keypad). The bezel is decent quality. It fits nice but...... it was fragile and I managed to break a tab for some reason? It is now stuck in my phones midplate which I will later remove by taking EVERYTHING out! I've taken out my stock silver bezel so many times the tabs have never broken so I know I wasn't doing anything wrong.
The only problem I didnt have was the battery cover it fits nice and snug, has a nice weight and the BMW etching on it is nice. The top cover... I have compared the stock cover and the sw-box cover and I noticed that the sw-box cover was shorter AND harder than the stock cover. This resulted in a gap on the top part of the phone and EXTREMELY hard force required to press the lock button and mute key.
The keyboard... well it definitely is NOT a oem! i even ordered the "OEM" or any modeled keyboard like on cnn.cn the buttons are bad, lighting is uneven I will be ordering from CNN.cn next to see how everything is there.. I have ordered many parts for my 9630 there and had no problems for anything what so ever
BB Bold 9700 :: Unbranded Bottom Cover Doesn't Fit
Jan 3, 2010I just purchased an Unbranded bottom cover and it doesn't fit.
Here's a comparison:
The Top one is the one I received and the bottom one is the stock one, Has anyone else have this issue? It looks like the one I got is a full mold. Any recommendation for solutions? Apart from sending it back, I'm in Canada and seller is in Hong Kong.

Jan 5, 2010On the left side of the phone (same side as the micro usb port), there is a small 1/8" hole or port towards the bottom - about an inch up from the bottom. Can anyone tell me what that is for?
The reason I ask is because the first case I was using had a cut-out specifically for that port. But now I just switched to a different skin which doesn't. And I didn't want to cover it up if it was important..

Jul 23, 2010I switched from a 9000 to a 9700 so I bought mini to micro adapters to use on my car charger and my USB cable so that I wouldn't have to buy a bunch of new chargers.
When I plug my USB cable into my Belkin power block or cigarette adapter it won't charge, but if I plug in my wall charger or plug the cable into my USB port on my computer, it will charge my 9700. Both the power block and the cigarette adapter will charge my iPod, so I know it isn't the power block.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

May 16, 2012My Lexar8GB MicroSd card worked for a long time. over the past month ive had it at its max capacity with 913 songs on it and a few hundered pictures. I unlocked my phone the other day and it said that i needed to format my sd card.. AGAIN. so i lost over 200 pictures that i wont get back and now i have no source to listen to music on the go. If anyone has any idea on how to fix this please tell me. ive tride taking the battery out and back in to reboot it but it does the same thing, and ive tried taking out the card and putting it back in... nothing. If im paying upwards of $600 on a smartphone that says it can do these things, i expect it to work.
