My phones bottom gold pin on the micro usb charging port broke.Is this covered? My phone has not been abussed, it is over protected with an Otter Box Defender case. I took it back to US Cellular and they wanted $50-$150 bucks to fix it with there own techs, and I also pay for the cell protection, they want $100 bucks to replace it.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I noticed it for the first time on 2/25. My lapdock 500 doesn't charge properly anymore. I posted it first in the Lapdock forum, but now I post it here, because I noticed it doesn't charge properly only when Razr is docked. So I think it is the Razr issue and not the Lapdock issue.
When Razr is docked its battery will charge fully, however, the lapdock's battery will just sit there with the lightning bolt visible, but is not charging (24% currently). The phone's battery status continuously changes between Full/Discharging/Full..
The dock starts charging just fine as soon as the Razr is undocked. Any thoughts?
Edit: So I just noticed the Lapdock battery will charge only if the phone battery that is docked is not full. As soon as the phone battery is full the Lapdock battery stops charging.
Forget about it all. My Lapdock died today completely. Got a new one and everything is working just fine.
After reading about this, I was redirected to down-load a driver so that my PC could charge the EM 330 battery though a USB port. However! There are TWO drivers and the instructions say, choose the one for your phone! There is no indication which driver would be associated or appropriate for my phone! Since I was directed there beginning with questions about the EM330, can I ASSUME that BOTH will work or then which one do I choose to install on my PC ?
View 1 Replies View Related2 days ago my phone randomly looses signal, (I'm in the middle of London in location at which I would normally get at least 4 bars 'H' signal), I wait for 10 minutes still nothing so I try and turn it off, the phone freezes/gets stuck with the 'phone shutting down' message on display.At this point I decide to just take the battery out and put it back in, after doing so the phone will not turn on what so ever. When I get home that evening I try to charge it, nothing, no lights and still won't turn on.
Taking the battery out again, followed by the sim card and memory card I notice that the memory card has a crack in it, all the way across and just under the gold contacts. I think nothing of it as surely this couldn't have happened while it was in the phone and must have been there the whole time, so put everything back in and try again. Nothing. Open it up again and take out the memory card, leaving it out this time I try again and the phone starts up.So Sony Ericsson,
Fixed other issues, now I need to replace charging port. I have an extra and a soldering gun. Is there any tricks I should know, or just be careful?

The logical way to charge is through the mini-USB port, but the manual says it needs drivers for that.They have two download options for drivers to allow charging. Neither one of those will install -- they do not match the device.Why did they make this so difficult? Does anybody have ideas how to get this phone to charge via USB port?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe thing that drives me nuts about this phone is that you can not see the usb charging port in a dark room. On many ocassion i have had to plug in my charger in the dark and i find myself always fumbling around for minutes to find the port. The thing that makes it even more frustrating is that there is already a LED there! It just doesn't turn on unless the battery is dead and the phone is plugged in. Motorla calls it a "sign-of-life" LED. What a waste of resources because most people who keep their phones charged will never see this LED light-up. Why didn't you guys make it toggle on with a long push on the lock button? Then you could easily see the ports? This seems like the most usefull and obvious thing to do with this LED.
Also what happened to the camera application? My wifes X2 takes amazing pictures wheras the Droid 3s turn out afwul. Can I use the droid X2 app on my D3? Besides these two gripes this is an amazing phone and I am very happy with it.
How can I stop my screen from timing out during charging. This is the first phone I've ever had that goes dark while on the charger and I'm not liking it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a Blackberry Curve 8520 6 months ago, which is under a year-long warranty, from Carphone Warehouse. A month ago, the Blackberry stopped being able to charge so I took it into the shop and the phone was inspected, and I was informed the phone would be fixed under the manufacturers warranty and returned within 2 weeks. Exactly 2 weeks later I was told to collect my phone as it was fixed and it had been returned UNFIXED as I was told the damage was NOT covered by the warranty, after being initially informed it was. What has happened is one of the prong inside the micro USB port has broken off so the phone won't charge. This has also happened to a friend of mine, so surely it is down to faulty materials? I don't understand why this is not covered by the warranty.
I was wondering if Blackberry themselves would be able to fix my phone (as Carphone Warehouse are refusing to, unless i pay £170 - more than the phone is worth. I have taken this up further with them but have constantly received poor customer service and am not willing to deal with them anymore).

So, 2 months ago, We went to the local Nokia Care Point (there is only one in Guadeloupe). We went today to this shop to have news about my mobile and, the guy explained me that the nokia's factory bring them up the phone and could'n repair it... He gave me back my phone, but he didn't give me back my poor little micro-USB port.
So, I have 2 questions :
First : what are the solutions proposed by Nokia for the customers in French West Indies (Guadeloupe and Martinique) ?
Second : why do you propose low quality services for us (comparatively with "normal" customers from France) ?
My daughter dropped her 9300 and broke the screen. A friend said if she got a new one on eBay he'd fix it, which he did. It appears whilst disassembling it to do so he managed to pull the micro SD reader, port, whatever it's called - off. Totally off, it is now no longer attached to anything and the pins it should have slotted onto were all bent out of shape. I tried to straighten them and they came off as well!Is this repairable or are we looking at a new phone?

I plugged it in last night before bed like I always do, but when I woke up it hadn't charged a bit and wasn't even recognizing that it had been plugged in. I tried my USB data cable as well, and that didn't register either unless I wiggled the cord around and held it still once it did register. I eventually did get the phone to register that I had plugged it in, but I had to wiggle the cord just so and leave the charger half-way plugged in once I found the sweet spot.
