Jan 23, 2010Fixed other issues, now I need to replace charging port. I have an extra and a soldering gun. Is there any tricks I should know, or just be careful?

Motorola :: EM 330 Battery Charging Via PC USB Port?
Oct 7, 2011After reading about this, I was redirected to down-load a driver so that my PC could charge the EM 330 battery though a USB port. However! There are TWO drivers and the instructions say, choose the one for your phone! There is no indication which driver would be associated or appropriate for my phone! Since I was directed there beginning with questions about the EM330, can I ASSUME that BOTH will work or then which one do I choose to install on my PC ?

Jun 11, 2010My Motorola V188 will not charge via USB port. It works fine with AC adapter, but I'm going overseas, and my AC adapter is 110v only. The logical way to charge is through the mini-USB port, but the manual says it needs drivers for that.They have two download options for drivers to allow charging. Neither one of those will install -- they do not match the device.Why did they make this so difficult? Does anybody have ideas how to get this phone to charge via USB port?

Sep 29, 2011The thing that drives me nuts about this phone is that you can not see the usb charging port in a dark room. On many ocassion i have had to plug in my charger in the dark and i find myself always fumbling around for minutes to find the port. The thing that makes it even more frustrating is that there is already a LED there! It just doesn't turn on unless the battery is dead and the phone is plugged in. Motorla calls it a "sign-of-life" LED. What a waste of resources because most people who keep their phones charged will never see this LED light-up. Why didn't you guys make it toggle on with a long push on the lock button? Then you could easily see the ports? This seems like the most usefull and obvious thing to do with this LED.
Also what happened to the camera application? My wifes X2 takes amazing pictures wheras the Droid 3s turn out afwul. Can I use the droid X2 app on my D3? Besides these two gripes this is an amazing phone and I am very happy with it.

Jul 10, 2012My phones bottom gold pin on the micro usb charging port broke.Is this covered? My phone has not been abussed, it is over protected with an Otter Box Defender case. I took it back to US Cellular and they wanted $50-$150 bucks to fix it with there own techs, and I also pay for the cell protection, they want $100 bucks to replace it.

May 26, 2012Has anyone had trouble inserting the USB lead? I.e. when it catches the socket housing. Was concerned I forced the female socket a little too hard. Then noticed later that the USB socket edge is deeper than the HDMI socket. No longer flush with the edge. Just concerned about internal damage.

How to listen to my music through the radio what do I need to do besides hooking the cable and selecting the aux function? Just select my music through the play music headphone icon? I have lost my receipt, although shouldn't it come up on O2's system I bought it from them once I provide my details? I have read on here the charging port coming out has been a problem with other bb users and would like to know if this problem is covered by the 1 year warranty?

Apr 28, 2012My 8330 just started to have problems with its usb/charge port. I plugged it in last night before bed like I always do, but when I woke up it hadn't charged a bit and wasn't even recognizing that it had been plugged in. I tried my USB data cable as well, and that didn't register either unless I wiggled the cord around and held it still once it did register. I eventually did get the phone to register that I had plugged it in, but I had to wiggle the cord just so and leave the charger half-way plugged in once I found the sweet spot.

When the phone is rebooted, the "Stay Awake" under Developer Options is reset to "on" (box is ticked by default). this is NOT the correct default setting.I thought the issue is related to SystemPanel and perhaps its monitoring function, but anfter uninstall, the problem persisted.I can't figure out which app is causing this, so I thought I would mention the problem again on this Forum in case anyone has had a similar experience, and knows what app/process might be over riding the default settings.I will say it is less of an issue with the RAZRM as I have not had a forced shutdown/reboot since I got the device (D4 reboots were a daily issue).

Jun 21, 2012Regarding the LaptDock 100, when it is plugged into the wall my Razr will charge while plugged into the LapDock. If the LapDock is not plugged into the wall and running off the battery it will not charge my Razr phone, in fact my phone will lose a charge. When I had my Bionic the phone would charge off of the Bionic LapDock if the dock was plugged into the wall or not.

I have tried different chargers and the same problem, , you have to wiggle the lead to make connection. Vodafone told me that this would be a wear and tear issue and therefore not covered under warranty. RUBBISH I say! If it has worn out then the phone is not "fit for purpose" I have spoken to Nokia who have advised me that they are seeing a problem with the charging port on a small number of the E7's. Nokia need to make Vodafone aware of this issue and Vodafone need to start listening to they loyal customer of over 20 years!

Mar 30, 2012The charge port seems to be damaged as it cuts out when connected to my car stereo and it takes some jiggling to get it to connect to iTunes and to charge. My kids have ripped it off the cord and docking port on many occasions...I assume it's damaged from this! I don't have the apple care and don't have time to go to an appointment for them to just tell me they need to replace the whole phone.

Called up my service provider (O2) to activate it and was told to insert the sim then turn the handset off for half an hour then when I turned it on again it would be activated.I waited for half an hour and then tried to turn the phone on nothing happened..Tried several times and then connected it to the charger to see if the battery had miraculously lost all it's charge whilst switched off! Nothin, no LED's nothing to suggest any life in the phone at all.I am unsure if I will accpet a replacement or weather I will swap to a Nexus, I like the Razr but this is a pretty poor start to my life with a Motorola!
