Aug 17, 2011I have a Bold 9000 and the port where you plug in a wall or USB charger is broken.Does anyone know if I can use a desk charging pod instead?

BB Bold 9000 :: Battery Drains Quickly After Charging From Car Charger
Jan 23, 2010I have a Bold 9000 & one month ago I have plugged it in to a car charger (not BB original one). In that moment the phone turned off instantly and when trying to turn it back on the LCD remained completely white. I could not make or receive calls, e-mail, etc., the phone was dead whit the LCD white.
when I got home I plugged in the AC charger & the phone started ok. Now if I charge it fully I can use it for one day, or half day if it is very intense used. If the battery goes bellow 75-80% & I access basic functions (e-mail, sms, browsing) in 1-2 mins the LCD goes white & the phone is dead. Basically I need to keep the battery level higher than 80% in order to make sure I can use my phone.
BB Bold 9000 :: USB Port Wont Charge / How To Repair?
Mar 24, 2010So, the inevitable has happened and my Bold won't charge through the usb port anymore. I don't have a warranty, and I'd like to attempt to fix it on my own. I'm planning on ordering it form sw-box.Thing is though, I don't know how to replace the port.Do I have to desolder? has anyone ever done this before? Any help/feedback will be appreciated.

Jan 3, 2011I've recently purchased within the last 2 weeks the Blackberry Bold 9780. For some reason I can't get the phone to charge in any Car using the 12v cigarette lighter. I've had no issues with charging it from the Mains and the USB port on a PC. When plugging into the Cigarette lighter, the charger's LED lights up to indicate that there is power being received to the charging unit and after inserting the mini USB connection into the Phone, I get the connection bleep and the clock appears, however after all of this I still get no charging indicator on the battery. Also sometimes when I re-connect the cable I get the below message from the phone:
`Some USB hubs might not provide enough power. Plug the hub into a power outlet (if available) and re-connect your Blackberry device. Try connecting to another USB port (different computer, USB hub or travel charger). Verify that your USB cable is securely connected to your Blackberry device and USB port. Verify that your Computer is standby, hibernate or sleep mode. Verify that Blackberry device USB drivers are installed on your Computer`.
I've now tried three different car chargers all supported by Blackberry - I've sinced purchased one of the Mini USB Chargers that plug into the Cigarette lighter Mini-USB cables - still the same issue... I've tried charging in other cars - also my wife owns a HTC Wildfire and she's able to charge her phone from the Mini USB charger I have recently purchased.
I've spoken to Orange who don't seem to have heard of any issues like this - I've since asked Orange to replace the phone which I'm hoping to receive within the next 24hrs...

Mar 5, 2010I got dis phone off of ebay last friday. the phone was working fine until today. So this is wat happened i went to take my phone out the case cuz it was vibrating wen i pull it out it slipps out of my hand nd falls on the floor the backpiece came out the batterry came out. so it put everything bak in its place and the phone does not want to turn on. there is no light no anything i have it plugged to the charger but there is no responce. wat should i do?

Sep 25, 2011Took out a 24 month contract on vodafone in May this year with a curve 8520. When phone was charged I unplugged the charging cable and the port came out on the end of the cable (apparently a common fault with this model)
I returned the phone to Vodafone and they sent it away to be checked out, only to inform me that because I didn't take out insurance I am liable as they class it as physical damage. The phone should still be covered by a 1 year manufacturers warranty but nobody is interested in repairing or replacing it

Jul 20, 2012My 9000 was ok this morning then i charged it .After a few hours when charging , my phone is dead.i mean it was charging when i first put device on the charger,there was no problem,few hours later i looked at the phone if the battery is full,it's dead, no red light ,nothing .i tried connect it to computer and connect it to charger nothing happens.Now i'm charging the battery with an external charger.After then i'll try to put it back to 9000.

May 24, 2010I have Bold 9000 on O2, but since yesterday I have not been able to turn it on. When powered up via usb and PC or direct from mains, all i het is the red message light showing all the time and nothing else ..but sometimes it goes out and on screen is a picture of a battery with a blue zig zag flash running through it. This is a bit random, but seems to alternate between either redlight or battery outline. Plugging Bold into PC and running blackberry desktop manager does not do anything - the desktop manager does not recognise that a device has been plugged in (hence does not show PIN). Has the battery suddenly and completely died? (There were no signs of this happening before - no performance issues etc)

May 10, 2010I have had my Bold for about 18 months. I bought it new from ATT. The only trouble I have had started about a week ago. My battery will not charge fully. It started off by doing this last weekend, never charging to over 60 percent. Most of the time it hovered around 20-30% (different after every battery pull). After several battery pulls, both plugged in and unplugged, I thought it was fixed. It charged fully and worked correctly for about 5 days.
Then this weekend it does the same thing, except it never got above 20%. A lot of the time it was in the red, sometimes enough that the radio would shut off. It was charging some because working with it plugged in last night, it never completely shut down.I wiped the phone last night and installed Willyboy 9000 v4.2 .610/.662/.664/.669 hoping that it was possibly some software problem. I like the OS, but it didn't help my problem. I had 5.0.0.592 when the problem started.
I went and got a new RIM oem battery from the ATT store today. This new battery won't charge past 50%. I have once again tried numerous battery pulls today with no improvement in the charging of the battery. As before, the little lightning symbol does come on indicating that it is charging. After the wipe and reinstall, I have not installed any third party apps. The battery, neither old nor new, does not get hot.
BB Bold 9000 :: Red Light Stay On During Charging?
Aug 14, 2010Is the red LED supposed to be ON while the Bold is charging?I just got the Bold and when the phone is on, and I plug it to the wall charger, there is a lightening bolt on the battery icon so I know it is charging, however, there is no red LED.
I used to have a Bold about 6 months ago, then switched phones, and I'm now back on the Bold. I could've sworn when I had the Bold last time, that there was a red LED ON when I charged the phone. Now I don't see it.
Was I just imagining things? Or maybe it was a different OS version? I'm on 4.6. (I think when I was on the Bold last time, I was on OS 5.0.

I have lost my receipt, although shouldn't it come up on O2's system I bought it from them once I provide my details? I plugged it in last night before bed like I always do, but when I woke up it hadn't charged a bit and wasn't even recognizing that it had been plugged in. I tried my USB data cable as well, and that didn't register either unless I wiggled the cord around and held it still once it did register. I eventually did get the phone to register that I had plugged it in, but I had to wiggle the cord just so and leave the charger half-way plugged in once I found the sweet spot.

There are TWO drivers and the instructions say, choose the one for your phone! There is no indication which driver would be associated or appropriate for my phone! Sep 29, 2011The thing that drives me nuts about this phone is that you can not see the usb charging port in a dark room. On many ocassion i have had to plug in my charger in the dark and i find myself always fumbling around for minutes to find the port. The thing that makes it even more frustrating is that there is already a LED there! It just doesn't turn on unless the battery is dead and the phone is plugged in. Motorla calls it a "sign-of-life" LED. What a waste of resources because most people who keep their phones charged will never see this LED light-up. Why didn't you guys make it toggle on with a long push on the lock button? Then you could easily see the ports? This seems like the most usefull and obvious thing to do with this LED.
Also what happened to the camera application? My wifes X2 takes amazing pictures wheras the Droid 3s turn out afwul. Can I use the droid X2 app on my D3? Besides these two gripes this is an amazing phone and I am very happy with it.

Nov 1, 2011My E7 is 6 months old. The phone has not been damaged in any way but the charging port is faulty. I have tried different chargers and the same problem, , you have to wiggle the lead to make connection. Vodafone told me that this would be a wear and tear issue and therefore not covered under warranty. RUBBISH I say! If it has worn out then the phone is not "fit for purpose" I have spoken to Nokia who have advised me that they are seeing a problem with the charging port on a small number of the E7's. Nokia need to make Vodafone aware of this issue and Vodafone need to start listening to they loyal customer of over 20 years!

My kids have ripped it off the cord and docking port on many occasions...I assume it's damaged from this! I don't have the apple care and don't have time to go to an appointment for them to just tell me they need to replace the whole phone.
