When I updated the software on my phone, I the standard ringtones and sounds that I was using.I'm an old fashioned type of person and like the standard old fashioned ringer, it was louder and longer.Also lost the sounds I used for text and BBM.Does anyone know if there is a place to recover all the ringers and sounds that were on the older version of the software WITHOUT incurring cost.

"Wrong file type, Please Select Again" It doesn't matter if the file types are .wav, .mp3 or .m4a

I have purchased a couple of ringtones from itunes but they are not showing up in my SettingsSoundsRingtone folder.
How does a person get them into that folder or have the iphone 4s recognize where they are so access can be gained.

The phone is about year old.Every time I try to use the high speed camera setting the screen turns blue. The normal videos and pictures dont come out good either.Anyone else have these issues? Any suggestions on how to clean the camera lens?Another issue is I had an Env2 think the vx9200 that had my ringtones and music on a memory card.I put that same card into the Dare and I can't set my sounds as a ringtone.The ones under 30 seconds I can but not the full songs like I could on the Evn. Is there a certain setting or specific way to use sounds for ringtones and alerts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded ringtones from crackberry a couple hours ago and now my ringers won't work and when I try to play ringtones in the media application it won't let me play them. I tried going through the profiles to make sure they weren't muted or off and nothing is working. I had the exact same problem less than 24 hours ago and the cell phone place just gave me a new phone because they couldn't figure it out either. If I could get some kind of direction as to what I need to do I would appreciate it greatly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my ios5.0.1 to the latest ios5.1 and since the upgrade I no longer have a ring tone alert for incoming calls although they are set to a default ring tone that comes with the phone. I can go to settings-> sounds-> and slide the sounds and alert volume bar and hear the ring tone. I also lost the keyboard and lock clicks.

My iPhone lost all sound on Wednesday 16 May 2012 and then again this morning Friday 18 May 2012. The Mute Button was Off. I did a little research online and from what I could find out it seems to be an update issue. 5.1.1
Before doing the following I highly recommend you do an iCloud back up first. It takes 5 minutes max and then do this:
>settings>general>reset>reset all settings
This process takes about 10-15 minutes at the most.
I'm really quite irritated now because I've had to do this twice thus far and I'm expecting to have to do it again until this "bug" is worked out. Also my charging seems to have a glitch now as well. It may be an charger issue in and of itself but I really don't think so. Again I think it's the most recent update.

I looked through the recent threads to see if this has been covered, but was unable to find anything. I use the standard dock at work a lot; mainly for charging the device and listening to music. After the GB update, I noticed that the little widget for playing/pausing/FFD music is gone.
Any ideas as to why, and is there a fix for this? Anything in the market to d/l for a quick Play/Pause function witout having to exit from the dock software?
I'm running stock software, with no mods on the phone. Also, I am not talking about the "Play All" app launcher which moves you to the Music app and proceeds to shut the screen off at the regular screen time-out interval. This was a widget working within the Widget Clock dock software upon docking the phone in the standard dock.

So far there is a load of things about this device that annoys the **bleep** out of me, I think if I see that 'wait watch' any more I'll bounce this thing off a wall. I can run one, maybe two apps before the phone start slowing down and I'm seriously sick of having to pull the battery out. Now having found those specs; theoretically that is enough computing power to run a full blown desktop OS, so what does it run like an old dog? I have an old iPaq H5500 that blows my Blackberry out of the water in almost every area (except being able to make phone calls of course). I had an LG phone years ago that supported a 3G connection. I can only put the performance of this device download incredibly bad programming. The OS seems to do almost no garbage collection at all; and I've recently read that this model isn't going to get a new OS ... fantastic. I really do feel like I've been robbed. A friend who has never used a smart phone before started looking at Blackberry as his first smart phone and I've advised against it. If I had never used a smart phone before I would probably think this device was quite good but since I had already previously used Android, iOS and Windows Mobile devices I am seriously disappointed with the Blackberry. I am shocked that RIM is managing to compete with other smart phone manufacturers (or are they competing?).So after all that I am calling out to any 8520 users. Is there any way to make this device run to an acceptable standard?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter the update downloaded and while my two email accounts linked to my Blackberry still show up under email setup (under setup icon), I'm no longer getting emails. One email (gmail) icon shows up on my main screen but my other email acccount icon is gone. I thought I'd setup my emails again but when I go into email setup, both account addresses are there and both asking for a password (?). I even tried to change the password but, when I use the help instructions how to do this, there is no menu items for what the help suggests I try. I can't even delete the email addresses to try again.

I noticed that after connecting my phone to my computer and choosing USB Mass storage mode my custom ringtones (/media/ dir. on the internal SD card) associations to contacts and global ringtones/notifications settings are lost. This may be caused because android unmounts the SD card from itself when connecting it to the computer (to avoid cross-locking scenarios).
The problem is, that custom ringtones & notifications aren't restored after the SD card (internal) is remounted, USB mode set to charge only/USB removed.
I think it is a general Androis OS problem - the question is, anybody else noticed this or is this known & corrected in 4.0.4?
After the last update, I noticed that a lot of SMS items that I had been keeping deliberately were lost and only the latest ones remained. I have two questions: 1- Is there a way I can retrieve them? 2- Why the people who designed the update take the liberty to delete messages without warning?
