Xperia X10 :: SMS Notification Ringtones Gone After Update?
Sep 22, 2010I must say this Gingerbread update looks quite nice, and I'm liking it as far as I've been using it for the past hours.I had the media problem earlier in the day, wasn't really able to fix it until it went off without me noticing.All I did was go Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All and then clear data to everything with "media that I could find.I don't know if that was what made the error screen to go away, but all my songs and pictures are available to me now.Now, there is still something that I need to understand...My notification ringtones for SMS are all gone, all I can do is choose between "Android System" which limits me to "default ringtone, silent or Facebook Pop" or SoundPicker which leads me to my songs.Where did all the SMS ringtones go? Is there any way to download them or something? I've been looking around for a while, and still no clue where to find a good one (the usual Sony Ericsson ringtone isn't available to me either)

Sep 11, 2012I would need an advice from you. I have bought BB Torch 9810 yesterday and when I tried to synchronize music, I got duplicated entries. To avoid that I have erased all music in order to upload/synchronize them just once. Apparently, I have also deleted all ring tones, alert tones (low battery, disconnected, incoming email etc), simply all. Now Im getting error messages all the time.Is there any way how to recover these sounds back? Or do I need to reinstall something

Jul 31, 2012Running on xt910 stock 2.3.5 (73.30) in eastern EU.
I noticed that after connecting my phone to my computer and choosing USB Mass storage mode my custom ringtones (/media/ dir. on the internal SD card) associations to contacts and global ringtones/notifications settings are lost. This may be caused because android unmounts the SD card from itself when connecting it to the computer (to avoid cross-locking scenarios).
The problem is, that custom ringtones & notifications aren't restored after the SD card (internal) is remounted, USB mode set to charge only/USB removed.
I think it is a general Androis OS problem - the question is, anybody else noticed this or is this known & corrected in 4.0.4?

Yesterday I downloaded and saved Go Launcher V2.77 from the PC and installed it. Thereafter I uninstalled V2.65 as I thought it was not required any more. I also deleted the app from my phone. Now I cannot access my home screen. Its blank. I can pull down the dropdown and it shows me the "Advanced Task Killer" app and the "2x Battery" app icons.How can I get back my home screen???? On long pressing the "home" button I get "manage Applications", "Advanced Task Killer", "2X Battery" adn "Maps".

Nov 9, 2011I was just using the Bionic to check email when bang, everything disapeared. o email screen, no phone icon or other bottom row and now notifications.All I had was 3 or 4 icons per screen and I could look at the screens double tapping the home and getting the big view. But most apps were missing from the home pages though and none would start. I finally realized that I was seeing a zoomed image of the home page scroller screens.I tried everything to get to the apps drawer but couldn't. I wanted to snap a screengrabber.I had to shut it down, restart and phone is back to normal.The image I'm attaching is mocked up from a capture I made with no background. Wish I could have captured it for real.

Nov 6, 2015The android system (6.0) update notification came on my phone yesterday (Moto X Pure 2015). Since I couldn't connect to a WiFi where I was, I decided to switch to my cellular data. But as soon as I did that the notification disappeared. I tried finding it on my phone settings, where you go to settings-->about phone-->system updates. It says my device it upto date. How can I retrieve the notification? I was waiting for my android OS update for a month and then this happened.
