View 1 RepliesFirstly, it seems that there is not a way to set the ringtones by contact group on this phone, can someone verify this or correct me please?Next up, I was not sure if the default phone was able to do distinct sounds for different contact's incoming sms (by group is better, but again I think it's not available by default)? Finally, if the phone cannot do these by default, two more questions:What is/are the best free ap/aps in your opinion to do these things? As I am new here, where would I make the suggestion or add my voice in support of it to include these as default features?

How do I customize the call notification to vibrate and the text message notification to sound at the same time for vibration mode? The vibration mode works fine for me (both call and message notifications vibrate only), but sound notification for text messages when I am in the middle of something. I am a new Android user and it seems that both settings cannot be done separately for the vibration mode.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI wish there was a way to customize the lock screen. For example I would like to put some contact information on it in case I loose my phone and someone finds it. I know there are "lock screen replacement" applications out there, but in my experience they have not worked really well and they kind of do a round about method of getting the screen to display.

I recently purchased a Droid Turbo and would like to change the option of the calendar display to another option like settings. I really enjoyed the Droid Maxx command center option of the battery status which flipped to the settings option...

Has anyone had an issue with the Razr Maxx changing ringtones on its own? To include notification tones as well.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm using the DROID RAZR HD. The factory installed alarm tones aren't useful to me and there's not that many to choose from. So I downloaded some loud tones thinking they would be put on the list of alarm tones. None of them did... So my question is..Is there a special way to do this? Or is it just not possible action?

I know how to change the ringtones for individual contacts. My problem is some of them will not change from default. I am not trying to do anything drastic, and I have not rooted my phone. I am using the ringtones provided built into the phone.
I do not know how long this has been an issue. I just tried last night to change one contact's ringtone and it would not move from default. I went through my phone randomly picking contacts that were all listed as default. Some would change, others would not.
I accidentally hit "Use as ringtone" while listening to a song in the music player. I set my ringtone back to what I used before, but how to do I get my song out of the list of ringtones? Anybody know if there's a file I can find and delete?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Razr got upgraded to ICS this morning. Now I have no ringer. Yes silent mode is off and volume is turned all the way up. If I go to 'system setting', 'sound' and try to change the 'phone ringtone' or 'default notification', the get the message "Activity Android System is not responding". I was able to turn on "Vibrate and ring", so at least I'm getting vibation, but no ringtone.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI like some of the ringtones that came with the phone and would like to try some of them for the alarm clock. The ringtones that show up as options for the built in alarm clock are way too jarring for me -- they would give me a heart attack.
I don't want to have to go download stuff from online... is there a way to just use some of the other sounds on the phone?
I'm sorry to be such a novice, but I got a Droid 2 tonight and have never had a smartphone before. I have my own ringtones under my music widget, but when I go into a contact to assign a ringtone, my only choices are the stock ones. Can someone tell me how to use the choices under my music instead?
View 1 Replies View RelatedCan I get personalized tones for emails on my Droid3? I know you can have ringtones for your contacts when they call you but how about when they email? I had them on my Blackberry but don't seem to find it on the Droid 3.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEach time my phone powers off, reboots, or I plug into my PC and it unmounts the SD card (ext) the phone seems to forget all of the ringtone settings and reverts back to stock (default) settings. I have over 20 custom ringtones for friends, SMS, calendar, alarms, etc., each and every time I have to reset these..Would trasnfering the ringtones to the internal memory
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just got ICS and due to extensive problems I did a factory reset. I'm trying to set up my alarms with the ringtones I used to use - and I have everything in folders on my SD card as shown below. However, the alarm doesn't seem to want to use these folders. If I select music I get a list of the 5,000 songs that I have in Google music which is of no use since that's in the cloud and I need alarm to function at all times.how to change the location for the alarm ringtones?
ringtones - /media/audio/ringtones
alarms - /media/audio/alarms
notifications - /media/audio/notifications
It seems that on past Droids, one could click-and-hold on an MP3 (found in memory) and elect to make it a ring tone -- even an alarm or notification. This seems to be missing on the current phone.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis problem involves my stock ringtones, more than one though. I get a call and say Big Easy is the tone. It will play for 1 sec, then restart and play the whole tune. Same with Digital Phone sound...rings 1 time, but does not continue ringing. All sounds are on the internal card. I have tried safe recovery mode and still same thing.have also wiped cache of phone at recovery and of the apps. If I keep the tone on a full length selection, no problem, its just that the restarting of the full length and the single ring of the shorter single tones are disconcerting.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am brand new and charging phone. I have contacts with pictures and customized ringtones from old LG env. Staying on Verizon. I know I can use Verizon Backup Assistant to convert contacts but will that only convert the names and numbers, emails?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this is a Droid X issue as well. Whenever I un-mount my Droid 3 from my Mac Powerbook G4 all preset ringtones & notifications are reset to random ringtones/songs/notifications. I have to manually reset all my ringtones and notifications back to the sounds I want. It seems when the SD-cards are mounted in Mass Storage Mode, the info on the SD-cards is no longer available to the phone so it reassigns the ringtones and notifications. Once the SD-cards are re-mounted on phone the pre-set ringtones and notifications are no longer set. Unless there is a fix, I am looking to maybe root the phone and copy all my ringtones and notification tones to the system's media folder so they are permanently available to the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Droid X2 seems to randomly change the tones I have set for contact specific rings, the default ringtone and notifications. I have done 2 factory resets and it keeps doing this. Is it a setting I am messing up or is it something wrong with my phone?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo far I have been able to assign a ringtone to only 1 contact. For all the others I have tried thus far, I select the ringtone that I want, hit OK and it goes back to the default ringtone. This is strictly the Phone Contact list. I am not using any social networking apps at this time. I do use the Verizon Backup Assistant for my contacts, but that has never been an issue on any of my previous phones. This is the same contact list that was restored from my old phone to this one and the contacts have not changed.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo far I really love this phone, but I seem to have stumbled across somewhat of a glitch that I can't figure out yet. This "smartphone" doesn't seem to allow me what a simple BASIC phone always did....and that is to allow me to assign a different ringtone to specific contacts. I do see that it is an option however it won't save the change on some contacts, but it does on others. I select the contact I want to update, I tap the menu option, then select "Options." I open the Ringtone dropdown, select a new ringtone, tap OK....but when I get out to that previous screen - it once again shows the ringtone as default. I don't understand this. Why will it let me save on some, but not others? I compared one contact that didn't save....to another that did save. They both have the same type of info - a mobile number, an email address, a home address, a facebook link, and a birthday listed. One saved - the other did not.
